Why Clinton Says She Won’t Quit:
Just Look What Happened to RFK

5/23/08, 5:10 pm EST

If there’s an innocent explanation for this, it escapes me.

[If the embed video is on the blink, here's a link.]

(And of all the weeks to be invoking dead Kennedy’s. She’s got a touch of Michael Savage in her, this one.)

UPDATE: Clinton apologizes… to the Kennedy’s. Not Obama.

“Earlier today I was discussing the Democratic primary history and in the course of that discussion mentioned the campaigns that both my husband and Senator Kennedy waged in California in June 1992 and 1968 and I was referencing those to make the point that we have had nomination primary contests that go into June. That’s a historic fact.

The Kennedys have been much on my mind the last days because of Senator Kennedy and I regret that if my referencing that moment of trauma for our entire nation, and particularly for the Kennedy family was in any way offensive. I certainly had no intention of that, whatsoever.

My view is that we have to look to the past and to our leaders who have inspired us and give us a lot to live up to, and I’m honored to hold Senator Kennedy’s seat in the United States Senate from the state of New York and have the highest regard for the entire Kennedy family.”

All class.

“My view is that we have to look to the past and to our leaders who have inspired us and give us a lot to live up to…” and since those inspiring leaders usually get taken out, I’ll just wait until an assassin’s bullet to give my rightful place in hystory.

First Hillary wants the people of Florida and Michigan to vote GOP if she doesn’t get their votes. She conveniently forgets she signed and agreement that their votes not count. Then she uses the race card in Appalachia. Finally she states she is staying in the race in case there is an assignation. Ms. Clinton is sick and should be removed from the public view. Why anyone would want such a lunatic within 100 miles of the White House is beyond me. I literally think she has lost all sense of judgment and should be taken away to a rest home.

Dr. Ralph | 5/23/2008, 5:54 pm EST

So if she thinks, as I do, that Obama will fall to an assasin if elected why isn’t she sucking up for the VP slot? Don’t get me wrong… I wanted to vote for Colin Powell but obviously he was frightened that this crazy world full of crazy people.

Hillary should have quit a month ago, Shes run an awful campaign and is Hurting the party.

AJR | 5/23/2008, 6:15 pm EST

The decline in President Bush’s ratings can be largely attributed to his penchant for saying things that make us look foolish before the rest of the world. The distinguished Senator from NY not only outdoes him in that regard, but compounds the problem. When confronted with her statements her only response appears to be “what you heard is not what I meant.”

It just keeps gettin’ better by the minute.

EvilPoet | 5/23/2008, 6:19 pm EST

First the Huckabee joke and now this. What a sorry state of affairs!

slade | 5/23/2008, 6:19 pm EST

She is disgusting.

Leg Hussein Paine | 5/23/2008, 6:30 pm EST

Wow, she is really dropping fear into her campaign. What is she trying to hide by spinning such dark imagery? I’ve stopped trusting her a long time ago. She is divisive and baiting all the wrong sorts of thoughts in people to keep the focus on herself. Where is the honor?

Laura from SC | 5/23/2008, 6:31 pm EST

At this point, there is absolutely no reason for the superdelegates to delay stepping forward to put this travesty of a primary out of commission. With her RFK assassination statement, Clinton has absolutely abrogated her right to continue in this campaign. The time is NOW, superdelegates. Now. Not June 3rd, not June 10th. Now. Period.

Hillary is a savvy politician and knew exactly the implications (read that: code) of her RFK assassination comment. With this, she has shown herself to also be a dangerous politician, devoid of scruples. No amount of apology is sufficient to offset the gravity of her, uh, “misstatement,” or, as the talking heads are calling it, “an unfortunate mistake.” Mistake, my a**. This is criminal!

Leg Hussein Paine | 5/23/2008, 6:38 pm EST

My hope is that our first impressions, in these days of considerable pressure, are only weak spots and reveal the things we need to talk about more. Our reactions are too binary, we need to talk these ideas out and see the many varieties of possibility in the things we say. Don’t worry people!

Observer | 5/23/2008, 6:47 pm EST

In sounded like Clinton was saying that she’s staying in the campaign in case her opponent is assassinated. Was that her meaning, or did I misunderstand her?

eddieb | 5/23/2008, 6:47 pm EST

As an Obama supporter, I’d love to jump on the bandwagon of outrage over Hillary’s Kennedy reference; but objectively speaking, after viewing the video of her interview, it’s hard to read anything malicious in her statement. She’s usually pretty transparent about her real intentions. This ONE time, Hillary was just being stupid. The big beef should be that she failed to include Barack in her apology.

Marie | 5/23/2008, 6:49 pm EST

Just read her RFK comment was made PRIOR to Ted Kennedy’s unfortunate health issue.Yet, today, she releases a statement blaming her slip up was due to thoughts she had of Teddy’s illness? Either this woman is a psychic or a bold-face liar. Hillary, I loved your tenacity & abilities before. But, please, for the sake of all things women… please crawl under a rock the same rock that house your husband.

David | 5/23/2008, 6:51 pm EST

Wow. Well, I guess the only thing she has left to do are the n***** jokes. What a way to go out.

Wallis Weaver | 5/23/2008, 6:52 pm EST

Wow, what an amazing thing to say, “I’m staying in the race just in case someone shoots Obama.”

It’s the kind of remark that could and should destroy a campaign.

It makes me think that Hillary has totally taken leave of her senses.

I used to joke that Hillary had been saying, “Just show me who I have to shoot to get the nomination.” But it has morphed into “that’s not funny, that’s sick”.

Steve | 5/23/2008, 6:53 pm EST

Hillary is a kind, caring, and thoughtful woman. It’s obvious from her remarks and campaigning style that she will be a uniter, someone who truly seeks to uphold the values of all Americans.

Admit it, I had you going… :)

She’s worthless. A vote for her is foolish and something only an ignorant lemming would do. No offense to lemmings.

john baguta | 5/23/2008, 6:54 pm EST

By speculating the murder of Obama, Hillary has crossed all the limits of decency and polity. She may now be considered as a grave liability for the Democratic party and must be kicked out of the back doors. Obama will be fool even to consider her for any position in his administration FORGET ABOUT VP!

David | 5/23/2008, 7:25 pm EST

I believe that the traditional next step is to send a big dead fish wrapped in an “Obama ‘08″ T-shirt. Then they kiss you on the cheek.

Julie | 5/23/2008, 7:44 pm EST

Hillary, please straddle a rocket and press go. Maybe you can find other sub-human beings in our solar system that’ll be glad to have you.

West Side | 5/23/2008, 8:48 pm EST

From unsuccessfully trying to mimic a Southern accent to “gunfire in Bosnia” to “RFK was assasinated around this time in the campaign, so I should stay in the race,” Hillary has continued to demonstrate one thing.

The amount classless, petty, pandering remarks that have come from her mouth rival that of George W. Bush. If the Superdelegates were wise, they would endorse Obama now – before they get drowned out by more astonishing “misstatements” that make international news.

Guys, give the lady a break. I’m an Obama fan but you all misunderstood what she said in a very silly way. She just meant to point out that there was a campaign going on in June of the year Bobby Kennedy was assassinated. Not that she’s staying in just in case Obama etc…I mean, come on…

Jennifer from Atlanta | 5/23/2008, 9:26 pm EST

To campaign to lead the FREE WORLD you should at least take responsibility for the awful campaign plan your team put in place, Please STOP blaming the MEDIA and your OPPONENT, your campaign stuffs has your campaign into debt and also overlooking and ignoring the so call small state (which counts). I was 100% support of your campaign but after the GAS TAX thing you completely loss me. When I thought about this I came to this conclusion that saving 18 cents per gallon over the cost of 12 weeks is saving just $35, If I recall correctly before stamping the Bush Iraq War the price of oil was $ 28 per barrel.

wolf | 5/23/2008, 11:56 pm EST

Those who are defending this as a simple “misspeaking” need to reread it. She was not comparing the 1992 and 1968 nomination processes. She was comparing 1992 and the assassination of Bobby K.

It’s simply and utterly disgusting.

celticfenian | 5/24/2008, 12:34 am EST

she’s relying on suspension of disbelief with these type of passive agressive comments. either she’s disgusting & evil or she’s socially retarded. whichever you choose to believe leads to one conclusion – she cannot be trusted to be vice-president…

Clarke D | 5/24/2008, 12:34 am EST

Clinton is over $20 million in debt and behind in everything with no hope of winning the nomination. Why is she continuing to stay in the race? I think she finally answered that question. Apologizing to the Kennedy family is fine, but I’d like to know when she’s going to apologize to Barak Obama and his family?

Miri NY | 5/24/2008, 1:17 am EST

We all must denounce and disown Hillary Rodham Clinton for her shocking remarks about the RFK assassination. In the context of her prior racial appeals & allegations of extremist ties by Sen. Obama & her calims that his victory over her is due sexism by Sen. Obama the unbalanced could very well take this as an invitation. She should withdraw not only from the campaign but from public life.

renatam | 5/24/2008, 1:19 am EST

These repeated statements, defacto “call outs” to derranged characters — similar to the tears in NH to women voters, comments re “hard working white people” of Appalachia, etc. — should translate into an immediate repudiation by the DNC/”Super-Delegates” and refusal to pay her more than $20billion debt accrued by her FAILED Campaign tactics.

Overseas American | 5/24/2008, 2:01 am EST

Clearly, Hillary Clinton speaks her mind, “If Obama is assassinated, I will be the next President. So I am staying in the race, hoping for Obama to be shot. ” The idea of an assassination of Obama has been in her mind since her interview with TIME last March. Great shame and tragic for America to have this woman.

swarmofkillermonkeys | 5/24/2008, 7:02 am EST

Way to eff up a guaranteed lifetime ruling the senate, ironically as the next Ted Kennedy. Nice one. You had a third of the reigns to the free world handed to you, but it just wasn’t enough right? You didn’t want to share at all; better 4 years of absolute power than decades of hard work.

Some public servant! She’s wounded more than her own ambition with the whole series of gaffs, she’s hurt her team’s future, and debased the whole country. She will say, “But the Republicans would have done it later! I was helping.” History will opine otherwise. She may no longer say that Mark Penn mislead her either. From the very moment she insisted on any validity to an election with only her name on the ballot (as if that is what we need after 2000, and 2004 subversions of the rules) until now… just sad. I’m trying to figure out which “group” she’s set back the most. I can’t, it always comes out “all of us”.

Hugo 1989 | 5/24/2008, 9:09 am EST

I am appalled at her comments and justification to stay in the race. This is the third time she has invoked RFK’s assassination as justification to stay in the race. These comments taken in the context of her race baiting before the Indiana and West Virginia primaries certainly raises red flags. It is not a far stretch to think she is sending subliminal messages to one of her white supporters to act on their own to eliminate Obama.

WII | 5/24/2008, 10:21 am EST

Why doesn’t she just cry about it

SoCal | 5/24/2008, 12:20 pm EST

As we type other countries are pointing their missiles at us and waiting the command to fuel them.

The USA is a country full of weak, incompetent decision makers. Show some balls USA. Where is Bill Clinton now? If he is going to try to be the world’s ambassador start by pulling your wife out of the election.

As always the only job of a politician is to get elected and re-elected with or without using thinking, ethics, or morals.

outside | 5/24/2008, 12:34 pm EST

Finally out in the open.

“Shoot him, shoot him. Somebody just shoot him!”

“Scary BLACK MAN about to steal your daughters.”

“Surely one of my hard working white folks needs to get working.”

Does anyone remember the Clinton mailer from West Virginia with a sniper rifle pointed at Obama’s head? This appeal to assassination has been going on for some time. She needs to be silenced before one of her followers responds.

K of C | 5/24/2008, 12:53 pm EST

Hillary Clinton reference to Robert Kennedy’s assassination isn’t even a valid timeline analogy in the primary process. RFK was killed in June 1968 after only 3 months of primaries in just 13 states. This is in stark contrast to 2008 when June is the 6th month of primaries. Why has Clinton repeatedly made this dangerous assassination analogy when it’s historically inaccurate? Seems like more “Clinton-speak”, i.e., twisting facts for her/their own ulterior motives. Watch your back, Barack.

bob | 5/24/2008, 12:54 pm EST

Pardon my French, but it is not for any of her supporters (including RFK, Jr.) to say who should and should not be offended by her callous remark bringing up the threat of his assassination.

Her campaign and her supporters can spin it all they want, but here is the way most people read it — including independents and Republicans.

————– —
Reporter: Senator Clinton, why are you still in this race when there is no mathematical possibility for you to become the nominee?

Clinton: I am hoping someone will assassinate my opponent before the convention. Then I will become the default unelected nominee.
—————–

With that kind of a desperate win-at-all-costs “strategy”, she should not be the VP candidate. If she is the VP, she will kill him herself so she can become the default unelected president.

b2 | 5/24/2008, 12:56 pm EST

Her assassination gaffe is one thing. The bigger problem is her lame apology, if you can even call it that. She has still not apologized to Obama, his wife and his children for discussing the possibility of his assassination in the campaign trail.

My Mom Voted For Hill in FLA | 5/24/2008, 1:18 pm EST

And even gave her donations. She’s now relieved her vote won’t count, and is sorry it’s too late to stop the checks.

To those who rationalize Hillary’s RFK statements (yes, she made the same statement prior and long prior to Teddy’s illness): at best, it shows unforgivably poor judgement. Most of us have thought worriedly of comparisons not so much to RFK but to Martin; all charismatic leaders are especialy at risk.

To speak the unspeakable shows an appalling lack of reserve and even, in my opinion, evidences compulsive hostility on an unconscious level. But it is NOT accidental or a slip. Not that she was asking for Obama to be taken out, though she clearly does wish that would happen (and be careful what you wish for, she is obviously a target, too). The point is that there is no slip that is not on some level intended to have the effect it can be reasonably expected to have. We must therefore be accountable for “slips” as such. Arguably, those who “slip” are even scarier than those who don’t, as they are not aware enough of their malevolent intent to put it in its place with their “better selves.” In other words, Hillary should get therapy.

Quite aside from the failure to apologize to Obama as well as the Kennedies and, obliquely, the nation generally, and the mendacity in the excuse made (or even having the indecency to MAKE excuses), there is another thing that makes this so bad. Opportunism. What more would define opportunism, after all, than sticking around in case your opponent is murdered by a lunatic racist and/or right wing conspiracist? But that is not a surprising thing coming from her. After all, she obviously voted for the Iraq war in order to placate the neos and nip in the bud the “women can’t be tough” and “she’s too liberal” charges. I do think that it was so calculated and thus consistent with the “sniper fire” gaffe. However, as I write this, I wonder whether maybe the worst charge against Hillary is her incomptence. I’d say that she is ridiculous except that she has done such damage.

The silver lining is I cannot now imagine that she’d get the Veep spot. Not that I thought there was much chance of it, but this seals the deal. No veep for the creep!

Dimmy247 | 5/24/2008, 1:35 pm EST

People, you should direct your annoyance to the SuperDelegates instead of Mrs. Clinton. They are the ones keeping this debacle going when all the available indices point to the fact that Obama has won the nomination. It is becoming increasingly obvious that somebody at the DNC is working for the GOP to win this year’s election again. How else can you explain their reluctance in dismantling the moribound campaign of Senator Clinton which is being used to drag the Democratic party down to the delight of John McCain and the GOP?

Kimo | 5/24/2008, 2:23 pm EST

Clinton should not only withdraw from Presidential camaign, she should resign from the Senate!!!

Sam Thornton | 5/24/2008, 2:45 pm EST

From the off-handed way Sen. Clinton made this remark, it’s clear the possible assassination of Sen. Obama is either a subject she has discussed recently or given some thought to; possibly both.

The real question is the degree to which, if any, she intended the remark as a political ploy. Given her track record, it’s not unreasonable to conclude that was exactly her intent.

Father Kindly | 5/24/2008, 3:45 pm EST

If anyone needs to be taken off the American scene as fast as possible, it is Hillary Clinton. The woman is an unspeakable blot on our public discourse and the sooner the Superdelegates lift their collective foot and squash her like the worm she is, the better it will be for this great Republic.

Ron Hussein Viger | 5/24/2008, 3:48 pm EST

This latest in a long string of “gaffes” by Hillary is deplorable. If Obama had said something comproble he would have been dismissed and roundly repudiated. She’s given the benefit of the doubt even by the Obama campaign! If Obama was in the delegate count-popular vote-number of states won – count the Michigan and Florida vote mess she is in and he was still staying in the race the Clinton camp would be crying foul – your ruining the party and any other kitchen sink strategy they could come up with.
The fact that she has even referred to RFK’s assassination is beyond a simple misstatement – way beyond. How could anyone defend this? And to give her mealy-mouthed version of an apology (”If anyone was offended by my comments…”) is not an apology – it is a travesty. The DNC has to shut down this pathetic excuse for a campaign she has run and have the courage to send her packing. It is criminal that she even thought what she said let alone actually said it. To then spin it that she was simply making an historical reference is abominable and an outright lie to cover her horrendous comment! As one writer said earlier she should be arrested and charged with a hate crime. I am so deeply saddened by this disgusting episode and having lived through RFK’s assassination on the verge of a triumphant nomination win is all to painful to relive. It is, in fact, chilling and all too possible that this horrifying and tragic event in our history could be repeated. There is no good explanation that would suggest that she meant anything other than the worst possible scenario. Please God forgive her because no one else should or could.

Tane | 5/24/2008, 4:04 pm EST

The problem with the defense that she was just comparing it to a long primary is that RFK’s campaign in ‘68 didn’t begin until March 16th when he announced he was entering the race. The first Primary he competed in wasn’t until May 10th, thus RFK was only 4 weeks into his campaign when he was assassinated, not part of a drawn-out primary. There is no comparison aside from his assassination occurring in June.

This was a grave mistake on her part and puts Barack, as well as McCain, Hillary and even Bush in jeopardy. I have worked with the mentally ill for 13 years and many who suffer from delusions are very susceptible to this kind of suggestive language. The last attempted assassination of a President was against Reagan and his assailant was schizophrenic. There is no place in politics for a seasoned politician to make these kind of dangerous and incredibly offensive comments.

Tane | 5/24/2008, 4:05 pm EST

As a long-time political figure, who has had secret service protection for years, she is well aware of the danger that invoking assassination can bring. It is an unspoken rule in politics that one does not use such language. It’s not about Hillary thinking she should stay in the race in case this were to occur, it is that she would say something like that in the public realm knowing good and well that there are people watching her who may not be stable enough not to take this as a suggestion.

Within a week we have now seen 3 seriously disturbing references to Barack Obama being assassinated (Huckabee’s horrible joke, the Georgia publication with the photo of Obama in the cross hairs of a rifle and now this). Clearly Barack’s getting this close to the nomination has made some of the white establishment angry.

Carol Martin | 5/24/2008, 4:20 pm EST

For months now, Hillary has been playing fast and loose with the facts, draping herself in the woes of oppressed peoples to dramatize her selfish ends. quest. Whenever convenient, she has claimed discrimination, enslavement, lynching, even female circumcision to ennoble her sleazy cause.

Well, enough is enough, Hillary. You’ve trivialized an unspoken taboo one time too many.

Everybody gets it this time. Even the media.

And they say you could’ve been a contender.

American Idiot | 5/24/2008, 4:41 pm EST

If anyone saw Obama on Fox w/ Chris Wallace, there was a “24″ style photo montage of Obama played near the opening of the show, and at other times. And in the last photo, in the upper left corner, was a photo of Obama with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the head with a trickle of blood running down. Upon further analysis I determined that it was in fact a car antennae that was in the way of the photographer. However, the resulting picture was frightening to say the least. And it was definitely NOT an accident that such a photo was used.

Toronto | 5/24/2008, 4:42 pm EST

This is amazing. I was talikng to one of my friends not too long ago about this and she actually said it. My GOD what a EVIL woman. She could have made that comment without using the word assassination but she deliberately used it for one reason only, and that is that one of her supporters will assassinate him.

Toronto | 5/24/2008, 4:45 pm EST

That woman is EVIl. For her to make that comment just shows you that she is hoping that it would happen.

Joseph | 5/24/2008, 4:59 pm EST

People everywhere seem to be forgetting, that there is *FREE SPEECH IN THIS COUNTRY*. Hillary can say *WHATEVER* she wants.
1) The intensity and hatred of Obama for being black raise the risk of him being shot. This would be a negative in a presidential candidate. Even Huckabee made this joke. Obama’s wife is worried too.
2) Clinton can spread rumors, lies, threats, and outrageous statements-she will have to later answer for, but it is free media publicity-it keeps her relevant and in the news. Hillary is damaging Obama, but McCain’s people will do far more damage. Mark my words.
3) Clinton doesn’t need to win more delegates to be nominated. If enough superdelegates think Obama isn’t fit to be president, they can nominate some one else.
4) Most importantly: in politics, and in knife fights, there are no rules! Bill Clinton said, you do whatever you have to to get elected. If billions of dollars are spent to elect a single person, the stakes really are that high.
5)The reason Clinton isn’t in front, is that people are tired of the above rules.

mae-mae | 5/24/2008, 5:12 pm EST

Keith Olberman said it best last night. I agree with every word. It saddens me that the Clintons have so much power in the Democratic Party. We all know that if Obama were in her exact position, the Clintons would have strong-armed him out a long time ago. How much more will the superdelegates allow? Over the last few weeks, she has uttered racist comments, blamed sexism and/or the media for her problems, and now this subliminal suggestion by invoking RFK. She has called Obama a plagiarist, a wimp, an elitist, an unqualified candidate who has nothing to offer but a speech. She has even glorified McCain at Obama’s expense. She has used every person and situation she can against him. She says he is out of touch with the people, that he will not win the swing states, that he will not win the electoral votes, and that only SHE can beat McCain. She has tried to change the very rules she agreed to and discount the value of the caucus states. She is running around saying she has the popular vote when she does not…unless you use HER rules. I beg you, superdelegates, please help. Do not be afraid to do the right thing. This is not good for the party, not to mention the country. I am so weary. Her goal seems to be to diminish Obama in any possible way and to bully her way to the convention and try to use the Clinton name and power to wrest the nomination from him. The Democratic Party is allowing this to continue. As a voter, I feel totally helpless. Obama is right. Politics in this country is broken. One family should not be allowed to control the process and dictate who does what when. She would scare me if she were president. I think she is giving us a blueprint of how she would govern (or should I say RULE?).
I am sad that every negative thought I have ever had about HRC, she has made a reality.

Joseph | 5/24/2008, 5:48 pm EST

The most likely explanation to this: she is warning Obama-he is a lightweight (Mccain praises on security), he is inexperienced, he is morally corrupt (Wright comments), he is black-too many people are racist for him to win (hard working white folks), he is a pointy head (Dukakus) liberal, out-of-touch, naive dreamer, oh, and he needs to seriously think if he is ready to end his life by running (RFK remarks, Huckabee Obama gun jokes). Her comments are for 1) the superdelegates-create fear, doubt, and uncertainty and 2) for Obama-to inform him of what is at stake-putting his life in jeopardy for an unwinnable campaign. If the Republicans do intend to paint Obama as unpatriotic Muslim candidate trying to undermine the US (talking to terrorist nations and leaders), the chances of violence against him skyrocket.
Another explanation is that she is saying these things to diminish her own support and unite the party-which I find very doubtful.
The last scenario is that she has mentally broken down.

Tommy | 5/24/2008, 6:11 pm EST

Hillary’s comment is no accident. Keep in mind, she has made this comment before, twice, and recently as of May 7 at a D.C. fundraiser. No one believes Hillary wants Obama killed. But, her campaign has gone on record saying, that they’re staying in the race in hopes of something catastrophic happening to the Obama campaign, that kind of thinking is counterproductive. It reveals the campaign’s low-point nad Hillary’s mental state of mind.

Junphil | 5/24/2008, 7:00 pm EST

It is quite obvious that Hillary Clinton is expecting someone to eliminate Barack Obama by an assassins’ bullet because she already lost in this primary election. It is in her sub-conscious mind that the only way for her to win the nomination is for someone to assassinate Obama. HRC should be stopped now by the super delegates. This is no longer a civil campaign. HRC has a mind of a criminal which is very dangerous if no one will stop her.

Tom in California | 5/24/2008, 7:01 pm EST

The RFK reference is telling because it illuminates Senator Clinton’s way of thinking. In her world, Obama is significant only because he is an obstacle that stands between her and what she wants. And a number of things (an unforeseen scandal or a plane crash — or even assassination) might fortuitously remove that obstacle from her path at any moment.

Given that outlook, put yourself in Obama’s position for a moment. Would you want Clinton as your vice president?

Fred Mertz | 5/24/2008, 9:01 pm EST

One has the terrible vision of Hillary Clinton, out front making that awful statement while her staff are on the phone, checking on Sirhan Sirhan’s next parole hearing.

The terrible thing is, she isn’t making an appeal to two hundred superdelegates. She’s making a direct appeal to the lone, disaffected, disassociated white male with a rifle.

Hattie/Chicago | 5/24/2008, 9:48 pm EST

Since March, Hillary has been puting out the call for someone to basically MURDER Obaama and yet the Media keeps coming up with excuses to give her a pass and allow her to continue her assaniation call.. It is very scary and sad to see someone self destruct right before your very eyes.. She has just destroyed any future she may have had in any other public office..

The word says that it is not what goes into a man that defiles a man. But, what comes out of the mouth does. Words do matter. HRC is a educated woman in the public eye. But, if the things that are inside a person’s heart comes out will determine the fruit the tree bares. The tree can only bare what it is.

I’ll be glad when this is over and both Clintons crawl back to their cave. These walking, talking narcissistic personality disorders really do not belong in American politics. While they may differ ideologically from the current occupants of The White House, their ethics, tactics and inability to accept personal resposibility are the same.

Will everybody just chill. Which one of you has not dreaded the possibility of someone trying to kill Obama? It has been mentioned in the press periodically since the beginning of this campaign. Hillary spoke out loud what is in the mind of any thinking political observer with any knowledge of our blood political history. The notion that she is wishing for this is ludicrous. The primaries will soon be over, people, and you will have your candidate. In the meantime, please dismount from your very tall horses.

The funny thing, that no one mentions, is there could just be someone as insane who wants to shoot a woman President.

Either way its good to see her evil ways being put to sleep. Shes gotten alot of support from the Limbaughs and racists of the world, all who would switch to McCain in a heart beat in the general election.

Once America sees McCain and Obama ontsage together, theyll see how intelligent, charismatic and strong Obama is. Hillary will be a footnote in history and the Democratic party.

Hillary’s comments are an embarrasment to all women.

I AM FED UP WITH HER WIN AT ALL COSTS WAYS.

I WILL NEVER – EVER – VOTE FOR THIS WOMAN.

Tom in California hit the nail on the head: “Given that outlook, put yourself in Obama’s position for a moment. Would you want Clinton as your vice president?”.
Obama can always chose another female as vice-president. If democrats really want a female as VP, it doesn’t have to be HRC – I don’t think they would get along and nothing would accomplished in such an atmosphere.

Hillary Clinton’s remarks if the shoe was on the other foot and Obama brought up the evil specter of assassination.

“I demand that Senator Barack Obama be brought under investigation for his assassinations remarks. Right? We know the history of violence in this country towards woman and Obama is inciting violence towards my personal safety. You know, we all remember what OJ Simpson did to his ex-wife Nicole and Ron Goldman. African Americans have especially shown a propensity of sexism and violence against women like Gerry Ferraro said. Senator Barack Obama owes Robert F. Kennedy, his family, myself and all my supporters a direct apology. You know, Senator Obama preaches unity but wants do divide this country pointing to it’s violent roots. Super delegates need to give me the nomination because Senator Obama has proven he does not have the character to be President of the United States of America. Right?”

I am so shocked. I have always admired HRC. Read all her books, and had really been looking forward to her next move after her husbands mess up. She knew what she wanted and she stayed focused. Unfortunately, throughout her campaign, she has not been able to show the people that she would be any different. 20 years of Bush/Clinton is enough. If the country truly wants something different, we will need to try something different. If we keep on doing the same thing, we will always get the same thing. This country needs hope and change and that is what Obama is offering. It is my earnest plea that the Superdelegates be courageous and strong and do the right thing. Shut HRC down!!!
