Clinton: I’m the Cracker Candidate

5/8/08, 7:05 pm EST

Having failed to transform Obama the black candidate, Hillary Clinton is now embracing her inner Jesse Helms, declaring herself the candidate of “hard working Americans, white Americans” — (no offense meant, all you shiftless brown people).

Shameless:

“Sen. Obama’s support among working, hard-working Americans, white Americans, is weakening again, and… whites in both states who had not completed college were supporting me.”

How long ’til we see an ad like this on TV in Wheeling?

the one about bananas, yes. not any others.

Mmcray, they did not go there to protect me or to make me safer. In the contrary, their poorly planned, reactionary and totally ill conceived plan to steal oil and bring the price of that resource up from $20 a barrel when Bushney took office to today that the resource is at $120 a barrel. do you feel safer? fo you feel the economy is doing better? do you enjoy your much improved reformed healthcare?
This administration has done more to set us back economically and has made us the target of extremists around the world. He has lied repeatedly to the american people and continues to do so almost every time he opens his mouth. Yet when faced with the evidence of his EVIL nature, some among us still support him wholeheartedly… give you three guesses as to why.

Jungleland | 5/12/2008, 9:51 am EST

Hillary will do ANYTHING to be elected president. I can’t wait to see her lose

mmacray | 5/12/2008, 8:54 am EST

It is truly sad that many americans have begun to give up their integrity for a and allow racism to be won. we have young people in Iraq who are gone and will never be able to have that full part of the american dream. We have parents who will never see their war hero children live like you are living now, good or bad. They fought for you and me, they fought for unity, they fought for each other black, white, brown, ect.. I am an african american female and single mom of three.
Please don’t tell me this is the america that many of our fallen soldiers have given up their lives to give you life died for. My brother-in-law is white, my grandmother is Indian, my son daughters boy friend in hispanic,
my grandmother was white, my six year old neice is white. Respect our fallen soldiers and stop being so self centered it’s not what they deserve.

Jed,

Can you still see my post? I can’t. The one about the NASA guy? With my memory, I can’t trust myself but you did respond, didn’t you? Ole once told he he had a post he could see, but I could not. Tnx.

Matt Garville | 5/11/2008, 9:41 pm EST

I agree with the author that Clinton’s comments were shameless and racist.

What Clinton fails to mention in her interview, is that Obama has nearly had 90% or better of the African-American vote in each state contest. It goes without saying what the African-American vote mean s to the Democrats in November.

abortion? …perhaps overpopulation from forgetting the traditional, and more natural, means of birthcontrol that our ancestors used for millenia to maintain the population at a manageable level rather than a reliance on fear and theism.

Our ancestors turned deserts into lush gardens, there was abudant wildlife because our resources were managed intelligently and times of famine were typically endured. Back then, ectropy rather than entropy was the prevalent method of production and distribution that the economic systems were based on. Feeding and keeping the people fed and healthy were very important in order to keep the population content and avoid unhealthy, violent dissent.
Today our populations are oupacing the planet’s ability to replenish our consumption. And it seems the population has found that violent dissent is the only way of having their grievances addressed. And many goverment structures have preffered the hard handed tactics of opression of the public voice to the more constructive path of diplomacy, compromise, concordance and implementation in an efficient manner.

The difference between then and now is that we’ve forgotten our relationship with nature and chosen to depend on manmade chemicals in everything relating to food production and other necessities even though we have ample evidence that such practices are harming our health as a complete living organism in the universe. What’s worse, our leaders have refused to accept tested and proven alternatives, or even invest in meaningful investigation into them. Particularly the simple solutions that could be quickly developed and distributed among the people to help them become more independant. Today it seems the opposite seems is true, we become more and more dependant on economic endeavors to do things that should be covered by the money that the tax structures collect.

It seems obvious that greed is being used on some economic powerhouses and government colluders to undermine the things that protect us from times of difficult circumstances. Yet we seem to be incapable of doing anything to prevent this. Seems odd to me, that after millenia of building great works we seem to have quickly devolved into destroying each other and our environment with gusto in just a few short centuries in terms of a historical perspective. The tried and true knowledge and cultures of the past seem to have gotten lost in the spoils of wars that do nothing but impede progress and allow for failed paradigms to perpetuate themselves as well as giving callous men the reigns of wealth and power.

To me, it’s obvious our ancestors wished to warn us through their theology and other studies about the tactics employed by the destroyer of worlds to surrepticiously undermine and debilitate a living planets ability to regenerate itself. Greed seems to be one of those tactics, greed is alive and well in our world these days and it’s very evident if one doesn’t blind oneself to it. Though our leadership purports to abide by the contemporary philosophical teachings of said theology, their actions belie deception. Because if that were the case prosperity, progress, and contentment would be more prevalent than the what appears to be the current prevalent paradigm.

Our actions border on the suicidal and heavily homicidal. This is typically the actions of an ill organism that is overwhelmed by an external entity overwhelming it’s ability to heal it’self.
In our case, greed is used as a way to direct the actions of a few diligent and driven yet apparently easily corruptible members of our population. Perhaps they have become ill as well and our healthcare structure has failed all of us. It is evident we are not giving the attention necessary to the things harming us or the things that can help us, and a significant number of the population seems intent on undermining efforts to change for the better.

You feel like our planet is under serious peril from abortion, or UFOs? You list a few things at the end of your post that are quite a bit more perilous for us as Americans than either one.
I can’t believe we’re still talking about this, the Rolling Stone politics blog has to be one of the most boring on any of the internets. The abortion/balloons story is on the noticieros televisa site under news from the mexico city area -

Still can’t find either story and i’ve been pretty diligent, even going to the mexican news outlet sites.
Now you would think that an organization releasing 8000 baloons in the middle of rush hour traffic in the capitol city of a major country, ensnarling traffic and thus bringing attention to an issue deeply controversial in a dovoutly catholic nation which in the recent months passed a law allowing abortions only in it’s capitol, would command front page news, perhaps at least a link off the national page or health issues of some other prominent place. but nothing… seems very odd. If I was a drinking man or given to taking drugs for enjoyment I would be inclined to think I hallucinated the story. But as others on here know, this is an issue that truly gets my attention, as I feel our planet is in serious peril from this, so I paid close attention. And had I not been on my way out and the computer locked, I would have recorded it.

Oh well, I guess it’s just another of those things that don’t seem to make much sense in our world these days. Much like the US imprisoning people without even a bit of actionable evidence, invading a country under false pretenses, torturing people being accepted at the highest levels of government. I think we should stop waiting for God to help us all and start doing the things necessary to protect ourselves, particualarly from the domestic enemies intent on destroying our ability to pursue health and happiness.

stamjen krauthammer | 5/9/2008, 10:06 pm EST

I posted about the Mexico City sighting on the MUFON forum, and one of their posters linked me to the balloons article…it was on the noticieros televisa website earlier today

Where’d you see the baloon story? I’m searching but don’t find it anywhere in the mexican news.

Stamjan Wurstbratten | 5/9/2008, 3:04 pm EST

Anti-abortion protesters released 8,000 white balloons over Mexico City today - that’s an extremely plausible explanation for the news report you saw.

Stamjan Wurstbratten | 5/9/2008, 2:52 pm EST

Can you suggest some specific sites for me to watch for this story to come up? The galavision, televisa noticias, etc sites have a ton of different (non-news) sections that I have trouble navigating - not being able to speak Spanish.

I did know about the 1800s Stephenville sighting, I believe the History channel show “UFO Hunters” did a segment on it as well as the recent sighting. Come on, there’s no coverup - the Texas sightings were natn’l news, the last fleet in mexico got some minor coverage, etc. But when all you have is blurry cell phone footage, networks can’t justify carrying it for long when the story doesn’t go anywhere.

As for me personally, I find multiple corroborating witnesses to be pretty good evidence that something exists. And current events in Mexico seem to be building the evidence to a level where it should become undeniable within the next 4 years.

Stamjan Wurstbratten | 5/9/2008, 1:43 pm EST

Jed Clampett, is the Mexican UFO thing being covered by any websites right now? Does “Galavision” have a site of their own?

Why do UFO fleets tend to love South/Central America so much? Is it the beaches?

Talk about total information control… this morning before leaving for work I was watching the televisa news on galavision. They broke in with live video of the event… 52 glowing orbs floatin over mexico city. They also showed people stopped and getting out of their cars to look at the phenomenon. Many there with video cameras, let’s hope youtube has more than the ‘organized media’. this is big, why is it ignored?

They’ve been here for a long time and they are not here to help.
They are the ones causing the chaos we experience.
I don’t think they will leave until the earth is close to death and humans have been loaded up for their journey to ‘heaven’.

BurnDaddy | 5/9/2008, 10:39 am EST

Jed, We can only hope that they’re here to rid the world of the “evil-doers.” Especially the ones here in the US. })

DD, Good article.
Looks like we could learn a thing or two from Russia.

Live from mexico city. At this moment Galavision is reporting 52 glowing orbs floating over mexico city.
Careful folks, they are starting to get bold and make themselves known.

While this blog continues to wear blinders and focus on the election (all the stories on the ‘front page’ are about it) the world continues to spin. For this country, spin out of control might be appropriate.

Over at tomdispatch.com there is a disquieting article about this country’s oil addiction and the concomitant Iraqi war.

At some point a decision will have to be made between using oil to wage war or to maintain this country’s life style. What a dilemma.

The article also touchs on how the exporting nations (China, Middle East oilproducers, etc.) are byeing into American corporations. I see this as a potential good. When we DO, finally, reach third world status, we can simply nationalize those businesses.

Banana, anyone?
