This website is beginning to remind me more and more of the French Revolution. You keep marching people to the guillotine ’cause you don’t like what they say and one day you may find the executioners chopping off the heads of the … executioners.

I’m sure if you look back, you can find quotes from, say, FDR or JFK that reflect badly on people you don’t like. But in the end, the image that’s tarnished is yours, not others.

Ten years from now you might be up for a Pulitzer. How would you feel if the selection committee looked back at these comments of yours and ruled you out because of it? It is a low form of journalism, indeed, to take the quotes someone made years before out of context and apply them, detrimentally or positively, either way, to serve some personal agenda.

Isn’t “Ethics In Journalism” a required course for graduation?
