If the networks were fair, they would be playing this over and over, ad nauseum just like they did (and still are) playing Rev. Wright’s sermon sound bites. But of course, they’re not fair. Sad, because Wright’s offensive comments are those of an associate of the candidate. Hill’s comments are the straightup lies of the actual candidate.

No sir, this stuff is golden, it writes it’self. But I’m happy that my namesake has the talent to put it together so. I’m sure someone will cry foul and say it is merely a smear campaign, taken out of context, it is Ken Starlike of us to question the veracity of a future president. Somehow they will justify to themselves that it was a different visit to bosnia that she was referring to. Until spirit gives her a huge fall, they’ll still believe in humpty dumpty’s viability.

Jed,

Next Summer, when the Cons start editing films of Obama to make THEIR point, not smearing, of course, what are you going to say about it? I rather doubt you will be as magnanimous and open-minded as you are demonstrating now.

If it’s truth they are posting, then fine. Let’s see what happens when it happens, I’m not about to be paralized by what MIGHT happen, or what certain people will do to change the results. I also understand Sen Obama is well aware of the situation he faces and is confident he can keep the high road against these folks. Done a stand up job so far. He’s handled himself with poise and strength of character, rather than going down to the well of sh*t like the rest of them and as DD seems to think he should do, he has maintained himself on the bright side of “the force”. I tend to think that if there were any major issues with Sen Obama it would have been exposed by now, the Clinton camp would have payed dearly for any trash they could fling at him. While sen Obama dismissed a staffer for saying something as vague as calling Sen Clinton a ‘monster’, Sen Clinton has no problems with her campaign manager that seems to go on a smear campaign anytime he’s asked a difficult question. When asked about Clinton’s tax records, Mr Penn equated the Obama campaign to Ken Starr. Ken Starr was a high class attorney with fame for destroying documents under GM’s employ to cover up his companies wrongdoings during an investigation. He was put in charge of investigating the Clintons, after more than a decade on teh hunt, hundreds of lives destroyed due to storm trooper tactics, and prosecution of a sitting president over a personal sexual matter, he recently closed the investigation without any other results than the tarnishing of the office of president and arresting a bunch of people for refusing to cooperate. We payed millions of dollars in tax money for this witchhunt. I’m rather curious as to what about the inquiry Mr. Penn found so offensive that he made that analogy? What about the tactic is valuable that Sen Clinton still keeps the guy on staff? Is Sen Clinton ready to pay the price for having kissed the devil’s feet? Just what kind of ‘Monster’ is Sen Clinton, a cookie monster? a monster under the bed? a scare the kids kind of monster as in monster’s inc? If the word ‘monster’ without any further qualifiers is offensive enough for the clinton’s to demand a retraction and expulsion of the supporter, what would someone in her camp need to do to get the same treatment? lie about intelligence? send your kids off to war without bothering to read the document you are voting on ? Do we want another president that takes their advisors word on something as important as a declaration of war rather than actually reading the document for herself? isn’t reading the document for yourself what a TRUE LEADER would do?

When the time comes, I will react however the situation requires at the time, for anyone to try to predict how they would react in the future to a vague baiting question, is as absurd as thinking that the Iraqi’s are merely waiting for us to leave to butcher each other… that’s like ignoring that they had no problem butchering each other even with out military around them before. I know this much, paying off the Sunni militias is merely giving the sunny’s the funds to initiate a civil war as soon as Bush leaves office.

Jed Clampett was right on the money. Clinton just released a statement saying that she “misspoke” about her trip to Bosnia. Just one week after saying “There was no greeting ceremony, and we basically were told to run to our cars. Now, that is what happened.” Apparently, now that is NOT what happened. This leaves her only one course of action. Release the flying monkeys! Or better yet, let’s just dump a bucket of water over her head. What a world, what a world….

This reminds me of an old saying…”When the time comes to move your bowling balls, do it in someone else’s bathroom before you go home.”
