(Somewhere In The Middle)

My heart breaks for Spitzer’s family. They deserve better than that. As for Eliot himself, GOOD RIDDANCE!! I don’t think the fact that he allegedly had sex with a prostitute is that big of a deal, but its the fact that he made himself out to be Mr. Clean and holier than thou while doing it. It’s the same thing as that other despicable hypocrite Rush Limbaugh who vehemently blasted drug users the whole time abusing them himself. Ever since Spitzer waged his ridiculous war against Marsh and McLennan and Aon Corporation for commission practices that were neither illegal nor unethical, I have despised him. He selectively chose the people he went after based on their politics and political affiliations instead of the supposed wrong they committed in order to put himself on the political fast track. He is a hypocrite to the highest degree (same level as Larry Craig), the definition of what is wrong with politics and is a failure as a husband and a father. I look forward to seeing him indicted and seeing his life in politics come to a dishonorable end. Karma is a bitch, Eliot!

Seems to me, after all these exposures lately, that the only way to ensure no legal action against you, is to have GAY sex with either a congressional page, a transvestite crack dealer, or a strange man in an airport bathroom.

Just like terrorism, crime, corruption, oppression, etc., prostitution has been around forever and will continue to be around forever. What’s next? War on extramarital affairs? Can’t wait……

Boy these proxy errors are fun Tim. It’s a blast resending information, then changing your name to see if it posts, then noticing it posted twice.

Are there any IT people who can possibly help out RS? Geek squad??

Criminalizing sex between consenting adults-including sex for money is one of the most heinous overreaching things government has ever terrorized the population with.

That goes for Larry Craig, Vitter, Bill Clinton and now, Eliot Spitzer.

It doesn’t matter that Spitzer put away people for engaging in prostitution rings: many republicans have engaged in similar hypocrisy with respect to moral values. It’s not about hypocrisy, it’s about the self destructive interest in people’s private lives that ruins this country every time a citizen can’t bring themselves to vote for decriminalizing prostitution.

This is about the shame religion places on the act of sex and it is destroying a great deal of good politicians-and thereby hurting the public. Sex needs to be destygmatized and decriminalizing prostitution is the best way to bring that about.

The right wing media is so transparent, its time to forget Spitzer He resigned,His political carrer is over. If He were Republican theyd blame it on the Woman and the liberals.

Ray,

While you’re dead-on one one point and mostly dead-on on another, it will be interesting to see how ‘dead’ his political career is. Certainly, it’s ‘dead’ for some time, but he’s young. If he has any balls, I would see him run for Mayor down the road.

The whole subject DOES bring up an interesting premise: what if the Right set him up? That doesn’t exonerate him by any means, but I think you’d agree that there are Femmes fatales out there that would turn any of us to putty.

At the very least he could go to the Right, say he’s ‘found Jesus’ and is ‘born again.’ They’d welcome him with open arms.

Kind of hard to say it was a singular mistake when you’ve spent over $80 thousand during a few months on several different pros, don’t you think?
