Mark Penn: All Class

For this you pay $4.3 million?

Mark Penn, today:

“Could we possibly have a nominee who hasn’t won any of the significant states — outside of Illinois? That raises some serious questions about Sen. Obama.”

Can we possibly have a nominee who, despite losing the MAJORITY of the states (many by huge numbers,) financial mismanagement, and a slew of questionable campaign tactics, is campaigning hard and strong, and looks to emerge victorious in the state of denial?

It’s the Bushney psychology… ‘never admit a mistake, we are infalible.’

Deacon Blues | 2/14/2008, 9:14 am EST

It’s nice to know where we Democrats in VA stand in the eyes of a person who, thankfully, will NOT be our next president. (Notice how I said “person.” This is not about sexism, and if you Hillary supporters don’t cut it out, I’m gonna start calling all of you racists!)

Right on Jed.
If Obama does secure the nomination, the mudslinging is really going to start in earnest. I hope that when evidence of legitimate mistakes Obama has made emerge, that he continues to be honest with the American people. I thought what he said about his past marijuana use was very human. And he didn’t try an insult our intelligence by claiming that he didn’t know what he was doing. })

Welcome to the Divided States of Mr. Idiot. This just in……:

The Idiot in Charge needs broader spying powers because of an imminent terrorist attack, but will veto those powers if they don’t let his telecom buddies off the hook.

Also just in: President Dhickweed claims the Divided States doesn’t torture, but is going to veto a bill that makes illegal certain forms of torture.

Also in: President Bush has been deemed an idiot by just about everyone. Also a liar, hypocrite, bigot, warmonger, tyrant, dumbarse, and fraud, among others…..

Now coach, let’s not devolve into insults and hatred. We put the demos in charge because that was the only way to remove him… unless there are other means of impeachment that can be brought forth by the people circumventing congress. Any constitutional scholars out there?

Perhaps we should ask the candidates how they would deal with the events that are occurring around Stephenville Texas in the last couple of months. Is it a cover up? Keep in mind stephenville is very close to Crawford, also, remember what Ken Melman offered Tim Russert as explanation for the ‘bulge’ in the back of the president’s overcoat during his debates with Al Gore (or was it Kerry, can’t remember). Melman said… (i paraphrase)”…the president is receiving directions from spacemen above the earth) I’ll have to find my recording of it for the exact quote.

BurnDaddy | 2/14/2008, 2:32 pm EST

Maybe what’s happening in Stephenville is a sign of the impending apocalypse because Mike Huckabee didn’t get the nod?

Merkwurdigliebe | 2/14/2008, 3:15 pm EST

or maybe its just lights in the sky, and Bush is just incompetent and not controlled by space men

to reorient back to reality, other than impeachment, Bush can (theoretically) be removed by a national plebiscite, but to my knowledge one has never been issued in our history, so “starre decisis”-wise there is little precedent

Coach: this just in…Bush is done…just let it go, besides Obama’s going to be the next pres, why worry?

DirtyDennis | 2/14/2008, 5:01 pm EST

Jed,

Any link in this to the pentagon’s announcement they’re going to shoot down one of our ’spy satellites?’ Is that a euphamism for UFO?

ray | 2/14/2008, 5:24 pm EST

How could anyone doubt that theres life on another planet? or that they may be advanced enough to get here and observe us.

DirtyDennis | 2/14/2008, 5:43 pm EST

Merk,

Why would they want to bother? Maybe they send their entomologists ‘down’ for a look.

Ick, I feel all naked and violated. They saw me do THAT!!??!!

By the by, am I the only one who has to try over and over to get into the comments thread?

And Coach, you top me squared in Proxy Errors. Should be some sort of prize for the most.

No sir, they have a spy satellite coming down with a dangerous power source. They are saying it’s a dangerous liquid propellant, but it’s pretty well known fact that they used alot of nuclear power plants in those back in the day. They probably need to destroy it to change it’s trajetory and make it land away from populated areas.
That and it’s an opportunity to test their missile interception capabilities. A show of force, so to speak, as well.

What no one is noticing in this whole UFO thing is this, if it’s our own craft and capabilities, that means our government is in possesion of advanced technology that would make oil obsolete and revolutionize transport but are keeping it secret. This is dangerous to our national security, specially when you realize that just about every conflict in our world at the moment is over oil, regardless of the stated aims.
Second, if it is craft of other countries or extraterrestrials, we should be preparing for what may be a visit if not an invasion. So again, we are being misrepresented by our leaders. Unfortunately our politicians are too seduced by GREED to do anything about it or even acknowledge the problem. See how that is used.
Let’s hope it’s the former, because if that is the case, we can hopefully convince our government to stop representing corporations rather than the people and release that technology and turn our world problems around. If it’s the latter, then our governments (britain, us and russia) should get together and put the pieces that Tesla sent them together in order to protect this little living blue marble. It’s the reason we were created after all. Or evolved if you prefer, they aren’t mutually exclusive you know.

DirtyDennis | 2/14/2008, 5:48 pm EST

Merk,

I wouldn’t be turning my back on Bushney just yet. Coach is right to keep the heat on. I just wish Congress would. That act today against Myers, et al was good. Pretty tame, however. Still, we (even Libertarians) need to keep the castle under siege at all times. SLAY THE BEAST!!

(The villagers are getting restless. However, the stupid MSM is transfixed by the primary, leaving Nero to fiddle.)

Jed,

You’re byeing their explanation? Our Pentagon is revealing something? Think about that a moment. The only explanation I can think of is a) like you said, they want to show off or b) it’s something else entirely.

Anonymous | 2/14/2008, 8:20 pm EST

(DD)
Tim, start a thread on the spy satellite or Stephenville so we can talk about UFOs. That’s a HAIL of a lot more interesting than the primaries. One thread a day on each party should suffice.

Don't call me Shirley | 2/15/2008, 12:29 am EST

Man this is priceless……

You couldn’t make this stuff up!!!!!

ROFLOL

Hey guys, maybe you could enlist the KISS army to overthrow the government! I heard Bono is free, maybe he can negotiate a peace deal between Bush and the American people? Don’t forget about Amy Winehouse. She makes Don Rumsfeld look like a cub scout. And the guys from Maroon 5 really work for the CIA. And everyone knows the MIC was really created to go after file-sharers stealing Dixie Chicks music, I-pods record your thoughts and upload them to Dick Cheney himself………….

Wow, what an awesome daily show and Mr. Colbert hour. It was nice to see Leonard Nemoy doing well, It’s almost as if they know I like star trek.
A nice little wave there at the end.

Everyone who thinks the ‘Pentagon’ (whatever THAT might be) is going to shoot down that satellite because they want to ‘protect’ us good citizens from ‘fall out,’ please take two steps forward.

Yes, Jed, we have technology that could get us off oil. Yes, Jed, the government is keeping a lid on it because so much of our ‘economy’ is based on petroleum. Remember what the world ‘conservative’ means…….conserve (white?) wealth. It’s going to take a complete pseudo-revolution at the governmental level for us to see transportation evolution at the middle class level.

Since we don’t get many threads involving ‘real’ news, I’ll supply some commentary on some recent events.

1. Stub is going to veto FISA legislation to broaden powers unless it includes retroactive immunity for the telecom traitors. Question: Why are broader powers needed when the 9/11 intelligence was on people’s desks prior to the attacks?

2. Stub is going to veto legislation deeming certain acts as torture, thus making them illegal. But, I thought he said ‘America doesn’t torture’? Again, was torture going to stop 9/11? I guess it would’ve if we had used it on our own agents.

3. Stub called the contempt citations issued by the House as ‘partisan grandstanding’. Republican members staged a walkout. Isn’t that ironic. Republicans call the citations as grandstanding, but then stage a walkout, which IS considered partisan grandstanding.

Just a few observations from the newswires……..not sponsored by oil, pharma, tobacco, gas, coal, alcohol, or religion.

Coach, given the free ride the media’s given Bushney since day one, them ignoring his latest outlandish behavior is consistent.

They rolled over on the contested election. Ignored the facts in the run-up to the war. Got in bed, literally, with them with their embeded correspondents. Brutalized moveon when they implied Petraeus might be something less than objective. Ignored all the arms our own troops sold on the black market. Ignored that the ’success’ of the surge is due to byeing off the Sunnis more than any troop additions. Ignore 4.5 million displace Iraqis. Ignore that services in Iraq are WORSE than prior to the war … FOUR YEARS LATER.

I could go on: what you listed, Katrina, poisonous trailers (if THAT isn’t the ultimate), ignoring global warming, etc., etc.

Congress may get a bad rating from the public, but who gives it to them? The MSM. Maybe we should have elections on who gets to be a reporter. Tim?

Coach,
This goes right to your whole complaint about the election process, win a little over half a state, you get all its votes.

I believe you’d better stock up on Prozac ’cause over the next nine months, you’re gonna have more than a few occassions to get vewy, vewy angry.

That doesn’t even take into consideration what ‘your boy’ Georgie does in that time. The mind boggles at the potential for mischief, mayhem and mendacity.

off topic comment | 2/17/2008, 9:21 pm EST

It is self destructive for Clinton’s Mark Penn to describe the states she didn’t win as “insignificant.”

Does this guy think that won’t come back to bite them in the ass in the general? How desperate ARE these people?

Clinton needs to start putting the party before herself and stop acting like every democrat should bend to her will. She’s not even worth that. The damage she’s doing to the party will only hurt us in the general.
