New Hampshire Union Leader: “Clinton Coldly and Knowingly Lied to New Hampshire and Iowa”

1/29/08, 1:47 pm EST

A New Hampshire paper is plenty hot about Hillary Clinton’s Florida gambit:

Union Leader – Hillary’s word: It’s worth nothing

COURTING VOTERS in Iowa and New Hampshire, last August Sen. Hillary Clinton signed a pledge not to “campaign or participate” in the Michigan or Florida Democratic primaries. She participated in both primaries and is campaigning in Florida. Which proves, again, that Hillary Clinton is a liar….

“I will try to persuade my delegates to seat the delegates from Michigan and Florida,” Clinton said last week, after the New Hampshire primaries and Iowa caucuses were safely over.

Clinton coldly and knowingly lied to New Hampshire and Iowa. Her promise was not a vague statement. It was a signed pledge with a clear and unequivocal meaning.

She signed it thinking that keeping the other candidates out of Michigan and Florida was to her advantage, but knowing she would break it if that proved beneficial later on. It did, and she did.

New Hampshire voters, you were played for suckers.

I live in Michigan and I am a Clinton support. I do a lot of phone work for Mrs. Clinton. I will tell you that she did not campain in Michigan, but I have heard that Mr. Obama ran tv ads on BET in Detroit, MI prior to the vote. Also Mr. Obama is running TV ads in Florida. Mrs. Clinton was simply smart enought not to pull her name. Mr. Obama has learned and his name was not pulled in Florida.

This is ridiculous, absurd. There are Obama adds running in Florida, all over the place actually even in Latin America (if you get CNN) so give me a break. Give me a break.
I am not for anyone but I feel bad that everyone is banging on this woman.

Florida law does not allow candidates to pull their names and that is the only reason Edwards and Obama are on the ticket. Michigan law does allow candidates to take their names off and Clinton was the only one of the major candidates to leave hers on.

In addition, Obama’s campaign ran national ads, which they requested to be removed from play in Florida, but were told by the TV stations that it was not possible.

And we are surprised why?

This is pure Clinton Politics. Blame everyone else, change the rules of the game when you are losing, blame everyone else even though you agreed to abide by the DNC ruling. We have ad enough of the dirty polictics …The president I vote for must keep thier word, unite the people and and be of unquestionable integrity.

What I wouldn’t give to be a fly on the wall around Hillary behind closed doors right now. I’m sure the plastic smile and obnoxious laugh have been replaced by sprouting horns and smoke billowing out of her ears and nostrils.

why is every one attacking hillary , is obama a saint??? why dont people say anything when obama camp attack the clinton

CMG | 1/29/2008, 4:59 pm EST

Obama is doing it too and I believe Edwards will still be running ads on “Super Tuesday” states that may include ones with non-binding delegates. To single out Hillary Clinton is absurd.

The rules of the DNC said
that candidates could not campaign in Florida but they could attend
fundraisers. There was no restrictions on after the primary,
only campaigning before. There was nothing that said they could not ask for a change in DNC rules. I was in Florida last week and saw Obama ads. Where is your attack on him for straight out breaking the rules? I would say Tim that you are fabricating a story just to attack Hillary. It is so typical
of Hillary haters, but it also tarnishes Obama when you give his actions a pass. Are you afraid he will only win, if you lie about Hillary?

AnyoneButClinton | 1/29/2008, 6:27 pm EST

She lied! Are we supposed to be surprised? HRC is the enabler, co-creator of that repulsive parasite Slick Willie. Good riddance. Pray we will finally be free of the Clintons.

TRUST IN HILLARY

When did her Christian God give her the right to support mothers sacrificial killing their own children by abortion?

When did her American Constitution give her the right to support the sacrifice American wealth and blood, on behalf of domestic and foreign lobbies?

If she dishonors her Christian God and her sacred Constitution, how can she be trusted to ever honor her promises to the American People?

Is her impending doom the work of that “Vast Right Wing Conspiracy”, or is her own blooming moral depravity?

Give me a break! People who don’t see through HRC’s campaign tactics at this point, just want to be blind. “The blind leading the blind…” You know where that leads you, don’t you?

Obama, Clinton, and Edwards: Each had their names on the ballot in Michigan and in Florida. Not one of them campaigned in Michigan nor in Florida. In both cases, the same votes were received in the same order. Clinton, Obaba, Edwards. In both cases, no delegate votes were given to any of the three. All took part in fund raising in Florida. Clinton took the time to thank her supporters AFTER the polls closed. That is NOT campaigning. Please acquire correct factual knowledge before confusing fact with personal opinion.

Howard and Burn Daddy, please get your facts straight. The statement “Obama, Clinton, and Edwards: Each had their names on the ballot in Michigan and in Florida” is just wrong. Obama, Edwards, Richardson, Biden, and Kucinich all pulled their names from the Michigan ballot. That’s right, by following the rules and the pledge all candidates signed, neither Edwards or Obama were on the ballot in Michigan.

As for Clinton, she will do anything to get elected. Break any rule, cheat, and lie. Women or man, she is just a bad candidate and bad for our country. She will never win a general election now.

We should have all seen this coming when we say her action of planting questions at campaign events. Ethics are not something that are taught late in life, and like her husband, Hillary seems void of any ethical center.

Tony | 1/30/2008, 9:24 am EST

When general election comes, I will vote for Hillary Clinton! Go cry you clinton haters …

lena | 1/31/2008, 2:42 pm EST

HRC is such a pathetic example for feminists in this country – I’m a feminist and I am voting for Obama. If Obama says he’s a activists – HRC says she’s an activist. If Obama says Change she starts to say Change… Ugh… why bother with the imitation? Or Bill C Part II? Bring back some dignity & some respect! OBAMA 2008!

Jeugenen | 3/21/2008, 7:36 am EST

NEO-LIB PRINCESS HILLARY, IN LOTS AND LOTS OF PAIN, IS NOT QUITE INSANE. SHE JUST NEEDS MONEY, LOTS AND LOTS OF IT, TO PAY OFF HER DEBTS AND PERSONAL BETS. BUT ALAS, HOW MANY SERIAL FOOLISH ILK SHALL PRECIOUS PRINCESS HILLARY CROOK MANAGE TO BILK?
