barbara boxer may be a bit washington-ized at this point, but i’m glad she’s fighting this particular fight. stephen johnson has long been criticized for being a crony for the bush administration, and his recent denial to grant a waiver to us californians only solidifies it. the epa has had a history of granting these waivers to california in the past to implement measures within the state that happen to be stricter than those required by federal regulations. this one particular denial looks pretty damned crooked. so i’m pretty darned glad that boxer and the governor are dedicated to appealing the denial. because it’s f-ed up.
