Fantastic article. All the media outlets should do this kind of reporting– on TV, not just on their blogs.

Jed Clampett | 1/22/2008, 3:06 pm EST

If they put it on TV it might reach alot more people, they don’t want that. They prefer to keep the status quo and keep the public ignorant. besides, they are trying to steer the elections, not report on them, that’s why they speculate on candidates viability and race and other superficial sh*t instead of substance.
Remember during the first election Bush told us he was and environmentalist in order to blunt Al Gore’s record? we found out later that he was actually the opposite of what he said (in many other things as well), but if a real reporter would have done some legwork, he would have found enough in George’s past to reveal the real person.

Jed-
There you go getting carried away with yourself again. I am fascinated by your use the word ‘they’ to refer to some group that is actively engaged in a conspiracy to keep ‘the people’ misinformed.

You don’t actually expect the rest of us to believe that you were duped by the media into thinking Bush was an environmentalist before the 2000 election?

Texas is the most polluted state in the US and has been for years (including during Democratic administrations). Nobody who was actually interested in the issue would have been able to see that under the Bush administration, Texas did little if nothing at all to reverse this trend. In fact there was plenty of reporting to this effect.

I knew you had reading comprehension problems but I didn’t think they were this bad. In responding to matt’s post I replaced his subject with ‘they’, if it’s so difficult to understand for you, which I think is BS considering you are quite a bit above a retard, just replace the word they with ‘The media outlets’.
I omitted it for brevity and because I realize most readers here have a rudimentary understanding of the english language… I guess there will always be some exceptions. It’s telling nonetheless that you would completely ignore the premise and attack portions that have no real relevance. Typical republican, I guess when you fill your head with O’really and ‘the oxycontin king’ you eventually start using their tactics and speech patterns… funny how that works, huh? You only need to open the door to evil just a bit for it to take advantage and take over your house.

I just wanted to hear you say that you think ‘they[the media outlets]…keep the public ignorant…[and]steer the election’. This kind of thinking is a little bit comic book, isn’t it?

Jed Clampett | 1/22/2008, 7:10 pm EST

some people just can’t see the truth regardless of how often reality slaps them in the face. Congratulations, you’ve reached nirvanna(you know, ignorance is bliss). Go back to your ice cream cone.

First time I’ve had a chance to review much of what Obama said. Much ado about nothing. He said, she said. If that’s all there is between the candidates, then there is no debate. No one is debating the issues ‘cause there IS no debate. What’s left? He said, she said. Or didn’t.

What I DID find interesting, and never saw focused upon in all the ‘race’ talk was Obama citing how popular he was at campaign rallies. Duh!! Articulate, black U.S. Senator. Great fodder for a dull, white campaigner (you fill in the name). Hmmm, did Obama get many requests to campaign in MI and AL?

My point is he plays his race to his advantage and no one else can mention, whisper, he’s ‘dark?’ Gimme a break. The man’s a semi-black POLITICIAN. He didn’t get to be a U.S. Senator on ideas. He WORKED for it.
