This first Al Franken Senate ad, featuring the candidate’s fourth grade teacher calling him ‘Allen’ in an accent straight out of Fargo is priceless…

I enjoy argueing with ya, and I hope you enjoy arugueing with me.

So you like to argue huh??
Well I don’t think you do…
As a matter of fact, I’ll bet good money that you don’t even know how to argue..
What do you think about that??

go al! len

Dallas,

Yup, arguing is the great American Pastime. And I think I’ve made it clear that the Dems aren’t liberal enough for me. They’re just a HAIL of a lot closer than the GOP.

Good luck in MN. Dallas in MN? Where’s my atlas?

Dallas | 1/17/2008, 11:56 am EST

Dennis-
I think you just like to argue. I never said I thought Al was a bad democrat. I said I liked him and like what he says and that I would be voting for him. I can see how you infered that I thought that from my last little quip though. I certainly don’t think that Coleman is a good republican either. Well, in the eyes of his party I’m sure he is. But, he’s not acting in the best interest of the people of MN. And who said I was a liberal? I think both parties are f-ed and don’t consider the democratic party to be very liberal. I know they like to pretend to be, but that doesn’t make it true.

Franken in MN in 08′!!!

David... | 1/17/2008, 11:26 am EST

Hope he wins.

We need some levity in Washington.

(– and someone with a brain, too!! LOL!! )

Dallas,

If there’s something ‘bad’ about the man, please share that information. I for one, not being from MN, have no problem with his positions. If it’s ‘bad’ to have a sense of humor and NOT take oneself serious, then I’m all for him.

In fact, he’s what the Left needs, someone to state the obvious, to put some realistic humor into the whole business.

HRC should be saying, “Oh deary me, I just don’t know WHAT to do about that darned old Middle East problem.”

Obama should be “shuckin’ and jivin’” and saying things like, “I’s be takin’ care of it for you NOW, massa Hillary.”

Edwards should be chewin’ on a straw and saying, “Shucks, Hil, not a problem, we’ll just get them good ol’ boys together with some white lightnin’ and have the whole shebang straightened out straight away. What for ya?”

They’re all so tight-assed they’re about to explode. But Nooooo, if any of them showed signs of being human, then the MSM, of which this blog is apparently a part of, would be all over them. I thought Liberals were supposed to be liberal.

Yes, Delta, that’s right. Stuart Smalley is running for the Senate. I think he’s got a real shot though. And, I honestly think he’d make a good senator.

Dallas
Just a second, Are you telling me this is not a joke??
Al Franked is really running for the senate??
Oh, this makes if a hell of a lot funnier..

Dallas | 1/17/2008, 9:14 am EST

Oh yah. Dontcha knoow? You betcha.
Anyway, being from Minnesota, I will most probably be voting for Franken when the time comes. I’ve liked his books and his show. I like a lot of what he’s got to say. And, more importantly, I think he’ll be able to take Coleman’s seat. I still think a bad democrat is better than a good republican.

I noticed that skit on Saturday Night too.
I thought it looks real myself, but hay, that’s one of the things that made Saturday Night famous.
Anyone remember that add about that breakfast cereal that was made from rocks?
Well, I thought the Al Franken add was just as funny as that breakfast cereal add was..
