Matt was awesome on Bill Maher tonight, way to kick tony snow’s lying a$$ god i can’t stand republicans! they would walk up to a bum on the street and tell him with conviction that his life was in fact great and republicans were to congratulate for that. i wish the discussion would have gone on longer…

It’s funny that I hadn’t heard of Taibbi until this week, and then I heard of him twice. Once, Glen Greenwald referenced him, and then he was on Bill Maher. bk’s right, he performed great. I have a new media analyst to read. Thanks, Rolling Stone!

Hey Matt, looks like the writers strike is helping you out alot. Appearances on Colbert and Maher, not bad. It was good to see you going head to head with FrankenTony. Enjoyed the show, keep developing that confidence and give the morons hell, regardless of party affiliation.

Maybe the reason the frontrunners are afraid to talk about the real issues is because the public has the attention span of a fruit fly. In a perfect world, Kucinich and Gravel and Paul would be the frontrunners, but then there wouldn’t be the biggest dick contests the media, and the public, loves so much.

Always a pleasure to read. I think Taibbi is one of the few honest journalists out there. Or, one of the ones brave enough to stand up and say what needs to be said. I saw him on Real Time the other day; he was great. It looked like he was about ready to strangle Tony Snow, the Bush apologist.

Great piece Matt. I must agree that the media has gone from reporting the campaigns; doing real legwork in exposing the candidates for what they truly are; investigating their business as well as legislative records; exposing the good along with the bad so the public can make a truly well informed decision and morphed in to a tabloid like hunt for trivia and headlines designed to obfuscate any attempt at really learning about the candidate.
We don’t ever get a real person with this process. we get a pre-packaged PR campaign designed to obscure the real intentions of the people involved while at the same time convincing the public that contrary to fact, these folks have the best interest of the entire country at heart when seeking the position of POTUS.
