Nevada: Culinary Workers and SEIU Endorse Obama

1/9/08, 1:15 pm EST

The see saw of Democratic momentum tipped back in Obama’s favor this morning with news that Nevada’s critical Culinary Workers Union would endorse Barack. He also picked up the nod from Nevada’s SEIU local — a big deal since SEIU had backed Edwards in Iowa.

Together these two service unions give Obama a not-so-small army of foot-soldiers to mobilize for Nevada’s historically sleepy caucus on the 19th, where a victory would help him rebuild momentum for the more crucial showdown in South Carolina on the 26th.

Tim,

It’s not THAT slow a news day. Bush is demonstrating his Buffoonery in the West Bank, U.S. soldiers are dying in Iraq and bombs are going off in Pakistan. Not to mention the Supreme Court is about to validate voter ID (now where is THAT in the constitution?) and the Oscars could be cancelled.

And you report that the culinary workers of NV are supporting Obama? Stop the presses. Those idiots in NV, my mother’s family is from there so I can say that, are going to be swayed in their choice by the recommendation of a … waitress? Busboy?

Perspective, Tim. Perspective.

and in other news, the international harvesters of poultry and paisley textiles have endorsed obama. this will surely tip the scales in his direction.
