Rasmussen poll has him charging to a commanding lead. Best news for him, he’s up five among Democrats. So no matter what the indies in the Granite State do, whether they swing for him (they favor him by 16 points) or whether they get interested in the McCain/Romney smackdown, he’s in a comfortable position.
My guess is that the Republican race is going so negative that the Democratic race is going to draw the lion’s share of the excitement.

Bill O’reiley looooves this poll. He always uses Rasmussen for all his figures.
Now who is he gunna cite, when trying to make reality fit his desires?

Dickinson’s opinion “that the Republican race is going so negative that the Democratic race is going to draw the lion’s share of the excitement” should not be taken at face value. It does appear that the Obama phenomena is starting to blow up, but I think this has absolutely nothing to do with a distaste for negativity on the GOP side – it’s really not that negative. Aside from the Manchurian Candidate, no one on that side is getting too agitated. I think voters are genuinely excited that a dynamic newcomer is edging out someone who is perceived as an establishment figure and the inevitable choice for a number of other reasons. This is an important moment in American history and when someone appears to be rising to the occasion, it’s no wonder that a certain amount of buzz is generated.
