I think the Clintons know this isn’t their day:
“I didn’t win a race until I got to Georgia. You just got to keep going. It is a long process.”

I think this may be a good advantage for both Obama and Huckabee, but none of their opponents are in the grave quite yet(besides the ones that didn’t make much of a difference anyways).

Speaking of the MSM. Whilst I have a keen interest in the outcome of the primaries, I can’t help but think there’s a disproportionate amount of ‘attention’ being spent by the MSM, including our redoubtable Tim Dickinson, on what will ultimately be relegated to the trash bin of history.
Obama may go on to become Prez and have a great ‘reign’ and Iowa may be pointed to as the beginning, but Turkey is bombing Iraq, Israel is still killing Palestinians, Pakistan is still disentigrating, the price of a bbl of oil is $100 and nothing has changed anywhere in Africa.

What’s most significant in this quote by Bill is that it’s true. You don’t get the nomination by NOT winning some big states. Last I checked, IA and NH are NOT big states.
AND, why no big to-do about Romney winning WY? Why are IA/NH more ‘important’ than WY? The whole process defines understanding. I just wait to see who’s still standing after the dust settles.

Isn’t this a National Affairs blog? Yes, the issues outlined by Dirty Dennis are important, but the Primaries are probably the most immediate issue of national importance. Let’s not turn on ourselves, this election, despite the dubious cast of characters, is turning out to be a great example of what democracy can be.

Digger,
Point well taken. This IS the National Affairs blog. But as you can see, there’s quite a precedence for international events. Perhaps there’s a caveat regarding elections, I’m not sure.
I must take exception with your assertion that the Primaries are the most important domestic issue before us. Choosing a president is, but we won’t be doing that for another nine months or so. This is a marathon, not a sprint. While it may be of some interest, it certainly isn’t important enough to the exclusion of all else.
And while I don’t believe I’m turning on anyone, I AM exercising a time-honored Democratic custom of haranguing.
