I’m game, take the whole bunch down and imprison them so they won’t influence our political system for the next 10 years at least. Hey, they give a crack addict 20 years for being addicted, what should the penalty be for someone addicted and abusive of power?

DO IT! Pass it on to your friends and family too. We need all the support we can get.

Coach | 12/20/2007, 5:37 pm EST

It’s going to be tough to be the repubes to go along with this……they only believe impeachment should involve extramarrital affairs in the oral office. Only if Clinton would’ve been caught in the airport bathroom, we could’ve avoided the impeachment hearings……

Abuses of power mean absolutely nothing to the GOP. In fact, it’s in their bylaws to abuse power.

hurray! out with the old | 12/20/2007, 5:57 pm EST

in with the new…

Impeachment will not solve this problem. Unless we jail each and every person part of or directly benefiting from the neocon philosophy that has damaged this country, it will not be enough. Impeaching cheney will only bring in a new neocon in his place. Haven’t you all seen this enough times already to know how it works? I’ll summarize:

1. Get past the stonewalling to prove that some neocon is corrupt.
2. Said neocon resigns.
3. Said neocon joins another part of government, or works as a private ‘consultant’ for some defense industry or energy industry.
4. Said neocons predecessor is just as corrupt.

Impeachment is a waste of time. Until each and every one of these guys is tried and convicted of war crimes, and treason against America, this will continue to be useless.

Delta Wild Man | 12/20/2007, 6:30 pm EST

I’m all for it, I was trying to think of a way to get congress’s aproval numbers lower, and that sounds as good of a way to do it as any..
Now if we could get a few hundred drunk midgets to stand outside of the capital and cuss everyone who walks by, I think we may have something!!

Evan | 12/20/2007, 6:39 pm EST

Sweet!

Not good enough for the prick. The man is a Fascist. Perhaps piano wire is better.

Eastwood | 12/20/2007, 8:04 pm EST

IMPEACH THE BASTARD! On second thought leave him in since every second he’s in office only increases a Democrat’s chance at being elected in 2008.

Hey Coach Jed,

Not to rub it in, but did you see the latest headline from time magazine?

“WHAT WILL ISRAEL DO?
A unilateral military strike against Iran is much more likely following the latest intel report about Tehran’s nuke program.”

I’ll be accepting your apologies…

Jed Clampett | 12/20/2007, 9:43 pm EST

And that supports your theory that we invaded iraq and are threatening Iran solely for israel how?

You are so intent on ‘winning’ that you’ve seem to have forgotten your original premise, not surprising though.

Coach | 12/20/2007, 10:52 pm EST

Josey: Yep, that proves it. You win. We invaded Iraq and will invade Iran because Israel is getting ready to bomb Iran. Yep, had nothing to do with western oil wanting to get ahold of the third largest known oil reserve in the world. No, nothing at all. You win, Josey. Send us to the stockade!

DirtyDennis | 12/21/2007, 9:32 am EST

Here we go again ….

Western Oil | 12/21/2007, 11:27 am EST

I didn’t have my way with Iraq and I doubt I will have my way with Iran. Damn it! Isn’t there someone out there who will give me some Christmas pudding?

Jed Clampett | 12/21/2007, 12:18 pm EST

Interesting, the subordinates of the EPA chief have ‘blown the whistle’ on their boss to denounce him for having ignored commissioned scientific documents supporting California’s bid to set their own clean air standards. A gift to the oil industry no doubt. Plenty there for the auto industry, the whorish bride of big oil, to avoid making electric cars that would be way more reliable than the system we use now, thereby costing them millions in repairs.

Gosh, could we possibly have any more evidence of the uncostitutional, irresponsible, criminal acts of this adminstration? I’m surprised that only about 125 thousand have signed up in the last couple of days. What do we need to do to rid ourselves of these OIL INDUSTRY hacks in the world’s greatest and most influential seat of power?

pdmikk | 12/21/2007, 12:23 pm EST

I’ve signed every impeachment petition I have found since 2001. These guys are the worst thing since the founding.
No more habeus corpus; lies; a de facto Ministry of Truth; the rape and pillage of our treasury; poisoned food sent out to our schools, hospitals and nursing homes; the deaths of miners due to the relaxing of safety regs; they made it illegal to talk about unions on an employer’s property; they have fostered a burgeoning theocracy under the protective wings of neo-fascism- a corporatocracy that owns and controls the state…
the list of evils this administration has propigated that are antithetical to America’s ideals goes on and on…
But what I’m really scared of is what we don’t know.

grizzedram@yahoo.de | 12/21/2007, 3:49 pm EST

What the hell is an online petition going to do? Having a bunch of people click on a website doesn’t make anybody change anything. The people in the white house don’t care what say on the internet.

If we actually want them out of office, we should be trying to find something productive to do.

Jed Clampett | 12/21/2007, 4:07 pm EST

It gives them a good idea for the support for the measure among the public. Since they are scared that their approval numbers will go even lower if they try to impeach the administration, they need to be told amrica supports them in that endeavor. Otherwise, it’s business as usual. besides, when was the last time your representatives asked you, their supposed constituents, what YOUR views on an issue might be? At the very least they could send out a periodic, say quarterly (ad hock with important issues), questionaire on the issues facing them in congress today. Sure, I get a BS survey every other year when one of them is up for reelection and they need to give the illusion that they give a damn what the public thinks, but I’m not making any bets that they even compile the returned info. File 13 is the most likely repository for peoples opinion in our politicians eyes.

@grizzedram@yahoo.de: “Having a bunch of people click on a website doesn’t make anybody change anything. The people in the white house don’t care what say on the internet.” Yeah, but it wouldn’t make much sense if it were up to the White House to initiate impeachment. It’s a different house that has that honour; the House of Representatives. And this website happens to be run by a member of the House of Representatives. And he clearly does care what people say on the internet; he set up this website to gather signatures to present to his colleagues in the House Judiciary Committee.

There is a way out of this.

Why stop with “The Penguin”?

lubosir2 | 12/21/2007, 11:41 pm EST

I wsa sitting in my car on Fisher Street, minding my own business and guess who drove by me? yep, Dick Cheyney. Going down Glen Osmond Road he was. I asked myself, what is he doing here in South Australia? 2005

Kucinich For President | 12/23/2007, 3:07 pm EST

There’s always the option of supporting Dennis Kucinich, the only candidate calling for Impeachment of Cheney.

likroper.com | 12/23/2007, 7:40 pm EST

you’re all assuming cheney would willingly come out of his bunker for impeachment hearings – personally; i think he would have to be physically extricated for any hearings to occur…

Eastwood | 12/24/2007, 2:13 pm EST

Coach Jed,

My original premise was that we invaded Iraq and were threatening Iran for the benefit of Israeli security.

This article supports that premise by proving Israel itself-and not U.S. oil companies-has the greatest interest in starting wars in the Middle East: it’s national security. It provides support for the contention that we invaded Iraq for the security of Israel as well, as Saddam was the only modern arab leader capable of doing substantial damage to Tel-Aviv, which he already attempted in 1992.

And Coach, I’d consider your conspiracy theory about oil companies if you provide any evidence for it. So far…not so much.

I’d wish you a merry Christmas but it doesn’t seem like you celebrate Christmas. So I’ll be P.C.: Happy Holidays!

Jed Clampett | 12/24/2007, 2:43 pm EST

only provides that support in your imagination. It also implies that our leadership is too stupid to realize they are being manipulated by israel. not likely. also implies that israel is incapable of defending itself. another falacy.

Keep trying though… eventually youll find some that will suscribe to your brand of antisemitism.

DirtyDennis | 12/24/2007, 3:11 pm EST

If I can b-u-y into the notion of extra-terrestrial life, and I can, then I should have no problem with either of your theories. That said, I can’t go along. Let’s forget about the two factions you guys are pointing to and return to the ‘source:’ Bushney.

Bushney is an idiotlogue, plain and simple. The only thing that drives Bushney is a belief founded upon the worst kind of ignorance. I’m not quite sure just what that belief(s) might be nor am I sure Bushney does either.

As for Israel, they may certainly be lobbying D.C. long and hard and doubtless with good success. But there’s a body of evidence to support the notion that Bushney prefers the company of Arabs. I seldom read about ‘mysterious’ connections between the Bush family and Israeli families. And as for the oil business, there may be some logic behind that premise but it lacks substance.

What HAS substance is the colossal stupidity of Bushney. What have they done right? Their administration is a train wreck, a Chinese fire drill. To see them in action belies any rational consideration that out of all the chaos surrounding them, one act demonstrates the intelligence necessary to pull off something of that magnitude. Sorry, can’t b-u-y it. I’m not saying that neither factor wasn’t considered, I’m sure they were, ala adding a measure of reassurance to their folly.

My final ‘argument’ is that any one with the ‘ability’ to pull off something that you guys are suggesting would, by logic, have the ‘ability’ to see the disastrous results that would, and did, ensue. All the worst case scenarios have, as predicted, taken place. I give you the photo op, “Mission Accomplished.” If that wasn’t the act of irrationality and deniability, I don’t know what is.

Let’s face it, Bushney is as dumb as it appears. We may as well retire the Worst President Ever award right now.

Eastwood | 12/29/2007, 4:29 am EST

Coach Jed,

???

How does this article imply that Israel cannot defend itself? The article IS ABOUT ISRAEL DEFENDING ITSELF.

How does it imply our leaders are being manipulated by Israel? We are now NOT going to attack Iran because of U.S. intelligence which is exactly what the Israelis don’t want to hear. If anything, this article illustrates that U.S. intelligence is too smart to be manipulated by the Israelis…

Antisemitism? Please. I’m helping Israel while you try to destroy it by antagonizing its neighbors. You should stop hailing adolf and start hailing peace.

Find another outlet for your antisemitism, Coach Jed. Maybe kickboxing? Antisemitic Yoga? I’m sure you’ll find something…
