Let me just sum up the America’s health industry for you: A big revenue stream for many of the top 1% in the world, be it through insurance, or cosmetic surgery, or actual health problems.
Funny how America spends more money on health than France or Germany, but we don’t live as long. Seems to me, if we’re going to be spending more GOVERNMENT money on health than those two countries, we might as well reform our health system to mirror what they’re doing since they both live longer than us.

One more thing: The republicans are already starting to try and even the playing field on climate change and the environment by getting the religious industry to start to push it. In other words, rather than come out and admit they were wrong, they’re trying to steal some of the thunder away from the liberals who have been pushing the environment for the last 50 years. And, when they try to even the playing field on health, will it still be one of those ‘liberal’ pipe dreams of socialized medicine?
Certain things shouldn’t be profited off of. Life and death isn’t one of them. Furniture, food, and entertainment are forms of profit industry, but letting industry decide who lives and who dies? That’s just morally bankrupt.
Also, isn’t medicaid government medicine? Funny how the republicans tout medicaid without even realizinig it’s socialized medicine for the elderly……

People who pay for their health insurance,, you know,, ( INVEST PART OF THEIR INCOME IN HEALTH INSURANCE ),
Why not let them go to “THESE HOSPITALS” and deal with “THESE DOCTORS”..
And for them folks who DON’T WANT TO PAY FOR THEIR HEALTH INSURANCE,
we can let them go to “THOSE HOSPITALS” and deal with “THOSE DOCTORS”..

BUT IN THE END,, who’s going to end up with the good doctors..

I think everybody’s under the impression private schooling is better. But, what is the reference? Jobs post-graduation? Well, here’s the deal: There’s a lot of money being exchanged in the private school system. I’d bet that transfers over into the post-school job market for graduates………Again, money/industy making the decisions.

Bottom line is this Delta: I know for a fact that government health care, even though allegedly worse than private, would still be better than doing it myself.

But, I guess it’s easier to blame everything on the Big Mac……

Hitmen get paid far more than 20 grande per hit. The analyst should have just taken some sharpshooter lessons and cashed in. Working for an HMO obviously ain’t the most profitable way to get paid for killing people.

I don’t really have much of a choice at my company, you choose package A or package B or package C packages A and B are normally geared to the executives that can afford to pay a healthy premium for decent coverage for themselves and their family. The rest of us have to pay a premium for a half assed plan that we have to pay a sh*tload before it kicks in and actually pays for some coverage. The bad part is that you don’t know what isn’t covered until you go in for care and you actually need it. Would be nice if market forces could be used to find decent health care, but they have set it up to where they are shielded by market forces, oversight or even fair business practices by a complicit government that relishes on the contributions made by their protege the pharmaceuticals and healthcare industries.

I’m not sure what you Americans are so afraid of? I’d much rather pay some taxes and live with the peace of mind knowing that I will recieve the best medical care for myself and my loved ones, not if but WHEN the time comes. It’s nice to live in a country where nobody needlessly dies, where money does not determine who lives or dies or what quality of care you recieve. I have nothing but great things to say about the health care in Canada and I cannot imagine living in any other system.
