Watch this Edwards speech at the Georgia Jefferson-Jackson dinner this May. It just may change your opinion about John Edwards — in particular about how compelling a combination it is to be both a Southerner and an unabashed progressive.

Now that it’s been almost 4 years since the last time John Edwards ran for the white house,
What have we lost??
What was alive and well on planet Earth then, that is no more??
Anyone??
I’d like to tell all of you who read this, what is no longer living on this planet.
It’s the flying monkeys.
In a news article that was so easy to overlook, hidden on the last pages of most news papers,
not one of our candidates has bothered to mention this,
BUT,,,,
On OCTOBER 11, 2005,
This world lost it’s last surviving Flying Monkey!!!
We always knew that the Flying Monkey was a very endangered species , in some ways,, much more endangered than any other creature on the planet..
As a primate, & in a way,, ONE OF US..
WE SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF OURSELVES..
There has been only one ( 1 ) reported attack on a human by flying monkeys,, yet we let them become extinct..
And I think if we were to look closely at that one ( 1 ) flying monkey attack, we would find that it was the human at fault,, not the flying monkey..
It breaks my hart to know that it’s been a little over 2 years since the world lost it’s last flying monkey,, and what’s more hart breaking is,,,,,
No One Seems To Care!!

THE LAST FLYING MONKEY!!!!
If your quiet,, one can almost feel this old world crying!!

That stand looks very reminiscent of that old contest show plus a flag background…

The problem as I see it is that the flying monkey’s insurance became so incredibly high because of the trial lawyers that they simply committed mass suicide…

Go ahead and make fun of something that has died..
Nothing more,,
One of these days,, your going to be looking into the sunset,, and see that there is something missing,,
It’s them flying monkeys!!
Delta Wild Man | 11/7/2007, 9:28 am EST
I was trying to talk about the fact that the last flying monkey is dead.
The last time that John Edwards ran for the white house,, something could have been done, we had flying monkeys then,,
But now,, the flying monkey has gone the way of the wooly mamoth..
Shame Shame Shame on us..

Flying monkeys are idiot diversion tactics.
Edwards is simply correct. Republicans are too scared to debate him on the issues.

I really like John Edwards, and though Hillary has every right, obviously, to run, I can’t help but feel this would be a much more substantive debate if it was between Edwards, Obama, and maybe Biden or Richardson: front-runners with a 20-point lead like Hillary’s naturally try to obscure differences between the candidates, especially so when they have the last name of a popular ex-President. Clearly, however, Obama and Edwards win on the inspiration vote.
