Good stuff Delta. The white house blurs the cliimate report, and you think calling Clinton a c*nt is appropriate. Meanwhile over a million people are evacuating southern california. Here’s a thought wild freak: if you don’t like Clinton, don’t vote for her.

what the hell is wrong with the american people? You have an administration that has proven itself to be misleading the american people and draining the treasury into GOP coffers and cronies, yet we hessitate on removing these idiots from power?
Do we need to be forced to dress in stormtrooper uniforms and giving a strait arm salute to realize we are under the influence of the same kind of creatures that wanted to control the world?
If we don’t act now to remove these morons we will be plunged into a third world war and economic strife at a time when the country is weakest and least able to come with the strain of such a war. Isn’t there any legislation or rules that would incarcerate these people that are editing official documents to the extent of making them useless or even misleading? Do we not have some laws to hold our lawmakers and civil servants accountable when they engage in wanton misrepresentation of science paid for by the american people?
When is enough enough? why do we keep giving our money to the wealthy when we realize they only have their own interest at heart?

When it starts obviously affecting our cozy lives. TV, SUVs and lattes have replaced rights. Creature comforts are all we care for. These wars and scandals don’t touch us personally, so we don’t care. At least, thats what they count on. I don’t exclude myself from that analysis. I donate to candidates that I think are removed from the system of corruption, attend protests every few years but obviously that isn’t enough to break the stranglehold we are in.

When you have an American population as stupid as this, what do you expect?
Americans are too busy stuffing their fat faces with as much toxic, fast food crap as they can…while staring at brainless reality shows.
This country is rapidly sinking under the weight of its own stupidity….and it couldn’t happen to a more deserving place.

“You have an administration that has proven itself to be misleading the american people and draining the treasury into GOP coffers and cronies, yet we hessitate on removing these idiots from power?”
There’s an interesting little statistic about Republican beliefs out there: apparently, 40% of Republicans still believe Saddam Hussein was directly involved in the 911 attacks.
But is that really surprising when there are now so many different outlets for “information,” out there, none of which feel the need to objectively prove anything whatsoever? In an environment like that, the group with the biggest megaphone wins, truth be damned.
The American people seem to feel that they’ve exercised their patriotic duty by going out and voting. Just doing that is anti-patriotic unless you inform yourself. Democracy depends on an “informed electorate,” not an idiotic one.

Hello, you’re commenting on a site that contributes to the dumbing down of America, by posting sensational, biased information as fact. The only “real” facts come from fair, moderate sources whose interest is solely to provide information. Is Rolling Stone that? No. Is Fox News that? No. Just realize that there’s ALWAYS two sides to things.
If you really want Americans to be informed and objective, you’d tell them to watch “The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer” on PBS. Too bad that’s incredibly boring compared to RS.com, The Daily Show, The NY Times, or Fox News. Americans want to be entertained, not informed because that’s the culture they’re born into. “Informed electorate” probably means being liberal to you. The way I see it, the only thing Americans are idoitic about when it comes to politics is how partisan they are.

Out of the mouth of Cons comes … equanimity? No. Openmindedness? No. Magnaniminity? Oh, HELL no. Equality? No. Oh yes, I remember, scurrilous slurs.

Dr,
You give them too much credit. Look at the first thread to see my ‘efforts’ to get heard. There are a few idiotic words that cause everything to be kicked out. Make it a game and find out which word it is.

Propaganda sniffer,
The fact that 40% of Republicans believe Saddam Hussein was behind 9/11 is not sensational or biased information. Actually, it explains why Republicans still support this president’s war in Iraq.
The poll I’m citing was done by the NYTimes and CBS, but if you’re looking for other polls with a similar response, here you go:
2001 Time/CNN poll found 78% of Americans suspected Hussein involvement in 911
2003 Washington Post Poll found that 69% of Americans(80% Republicans) believed it likely Saddam was personally involved in the 911 attacks.
2004 Harris Poll found that 62% of all voters and 84% of those planning to vote for Bush still believed that Saddam had “strong links” to Al Qaeda, and that 41% of all voters and 52% of Bush backers believed that Saddam had “helped plan and support the hijackers” who had attacked the country on 9/11.
2005: Harris Poll: 22% of adults believe that Saddam Hussein “helped plan and support the hijackers who attacked the United States on September 11
2006 Zogby poll found that 86% of U.S. troops believed the Iraq war was retaliation for Saddam’s role in 9/11.
2006 Zogby poll: 46% thought there was a connection between Saddam and 911, (Dem:32% Rep:65% Ind:39%)
So let’s review, from a range of polls Republican belief (I’ll be generous) in the idea that Saddam was linked with 911 went like this: 2001: circa 78%; 2003: 80%; 2004: 52%; 2006:65%
Now you are saying the prospect that 40% of Republicans believe Saddam was behind 911 is “sensational” and “biased?”
The stats speak for themselves. If you’re deaf here’s what they say: One: you’re stupid. Two: Republicans seem to grasp information a little slower than the rest of us.

Word,
Yet another 3 pointer. Or was this an in-your-face-disgrace slam dunk. Either way, impressive.

Prop Snorter: “If you really want Americans to be informed and objective, you’d tell them to watch “The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer” on PBS”
If you, for one minute, think that PBS is non-biased just because they’re ‘non-profit’, think again. Listen to the very quiet dialogue between shows, or before shows, announcing the ’sponsor’ of the show. Boring makes you think non-biased. But, it’s not.
The ONLY thing the liberals have screwed up is high school sports. Too many stupid, freaking rules. Period. I long for the day that people realize JC was a liberal……..and I’m not even religious.

Bender,
Nice call. Archer, Daniels, Midland. Probably own more of America than the railroads, and THEY were given their land.

DD-
What do you know of ADM? I am curious because few Americans have any idea of how integral ADM is in delivering the kind of consumer lifestyle they’ve come to know and love. Ever visited Decatur?
DirtyDennis | 10/27/2007, 8:51 am EST
Ole,
I confess I’ve only driven past Decatur although I’m not sure driving ‘through’ the town would in any way enrich my knowledge of ADM.
What ‘knowledge’ I do have of the company is that it gets larger and larger by b-u-ying other companies, lobbies heavily, receives government subsidies, has been accused of price fixing and is thought by some to be guilty of sundry other misdeeds. It is my ‘opinion’ that ADM is one major reason the small farmer struggles and is eventually replaced. In sum, AMD represents all that I find fault with in American businesses.
You work there in the Summers, did you?

Wedd,
Weenie is a flasher. Periodically he leaps from the bushes, whips open his raincoat and exposes ‘decent folks’ to one of the downsides of the 1st Amendment.
He’s one of civilization’s burdens.
