Slate on the government’s secretly disappearing secret evidence:

I know, I know. You think that what happens at Gitmo stays at Gitmo. Maybe. But the only thing more terrifying than convictions based on secret evidence is the possibility that when it comes time to fight those convictions, the secret evidence might just disappear.

how can you prosecute the deceivers in chief when they make the evidence of their misdeeds disapear?

Do you think that perhaps Comey rejected the parts of the secret surveillance program that spied on the democratic party right before the election and businessmen here and abroad to help their friends gather insider info on their competitors?

There’s still plenty of evidence in Iraq of G.W.’s and Cheney’s crimes against humanity. But, what’s really going to have to happen is a whistleblower with the inside track. Similar to DeepThroat with the Watergate scandal. Just my two cents. I would expect though that these two will live long healthy lives in luxurious retirement. Cheney will probably remain a behind-the-scenes player for many years to come.

Good point, Jed!

What bet Bush and Cheney had got a ” SANDY BURGER ” tucked away someplace in the national archives, just waiting to stuff his britches??

Jed Clampett | 10/19/2007, 11:27 am EST

wow, King George said he is willing to start WWIII over the Iranian weapons ordeal. The Russians and Chinese have clearly aligned themselves with the Iranians and will probably sign some defense agreements sometime this week. In Pakistan, Musharraf invites Butho to return and share power and then tries to kill her. This has the potential of actually starting a full fledged civil war in Pakistan with a higher level of violence than what we have seen to date. Who wins in such a situation? the military, because they can use the excuse of a civil war as justification for keeping a stranglehold on power.

Man, I guess the Bushies must be so proud that their idol is making us and the planet so much safer and better to live in. :/
Where’s that brave young american suffering from untreated PTSD willing to forcefully remove them from power since the Dems aren’t willing to do it peaceably?

Do the dems not realize that once they start articles of impeachment the american people will rise in a wave of support that will force republicans to vote the will of the people?

How is it that Pakistan, much more unstable and radicalized country than Iran, can have nukes and delivery systems yet Iran is threatened with nuclear strikes if they continue to persue a nuclear energy programm.
Why is Germany allowed to pursue discussions with Chile about putting a nuclear power plant there, but Iran is denied that right?

Words cannot describe just how angry I am with these people in charge.

RIP Constitution, you’ve held them back for over 100 years but now you’ve finally been overwhelmed.

Don’t forget about kicking over the statue of liberty!

Wow. | 10/19/2007, 7:09 pm EST

I am almost unable to believe this. Is there any argument to defend or redeem these people?

Delta Wild Man | 10/19/2007, 7:22 pm EST

Let’s see,,,
Who is going to do the ” SANDY BURGER ” job for Bush & Cheney??
Just a second,,
Just a thought,, had Bush been found guilty of purgery…
Come on folks,, Bush has got less than 2 Years left,,, I’m betting when he’s out of office,, all of this is going to make like Vince Foster, and just fade away……………………

Delta Wild Man | 10/19/2007, 7:24 pm EST

And as far as Iran..
Who can say that Iran ain’t been asking for it for years??
Iran is going to kill American solders,, and nothing happens??
Think about how many Americans that Iran has been behind killing over the last 30 years..

War is hell. All’s fair in love, war, and money. Same as it ever was…

“War is hell. All’s fair in love, war, and money. Same as it ever was…”

All is also fair in revolution. The money of rich folks like “Dr Ralph” seems like a nice way to fund one…

Dr. Ralph | 10/20/2007, 9:58 am EST

Come on down. I got my AR right…

Coach | 10/20/2007, 11:28 am EST

Ralphy: That’s your justification for war? All’s fair in love, war, etc….??
Yep, we’ve certainly bottomed out at this point. Our justification for war with Iran is “All’s fair”, and “who’s to say that they haven’t been killing”. Good stuff you appeasers. And, to think, the Democrats are called the appeasers. Certainly sounds to me like I have a new understanding of who the terrorists REALLY are: conservatives pundits.

DirtyDennis | 10/21/2007, 9:13 am EST

Coach,

Man’kind’ has never had problems for justifying war. It would appear that the days of ‘glorious’ war and of young men racing to the recruiting office to ‘right wrongs’ are gone, but, if you hold that life is a series of cycles, as I do, and that we’re doomed to repeat the mistakes of our forefathers, then it is not unreasonable to expect to see such someday. I hope I’m gone by then.

These are hard times for war justifiers. Witness the musical chairs Bushney occupied in ‘justifying’ our invasion of Iraq. So rather than chide them for their audacity, we should mock them for their lack of imagination. We invaded Panama because a guard insulted the wife of an American officer. And we invaded Grenada to ‘rescue’ American students. Hell, if Bushney had half an imagination, he’d have claimed Sadaam was torturing Baptist missionaries and just stepped back and watched the fun.

Come to think of it, why not say the Iranians are doing it. Who knows, in the rush to save them, the real Rush we want to go might volunteer. Who knows?

Let Them Eat Cake | 10/23/2007, 10:20 pm EST

“A Sandy burger” – heck no, Bushdum will just have the building destroyed-death and destruction are part of the New Republican Agenda-espescially when you can’t hide all the Crime(Way too much to stuff their collective “pants”….
