Now that Hunter is no longer able to fill us in on the details, I was wondering what the favored variety of amphetamine on the campaign trail is now…
Hallzee | 8/14/2007, 3:20 pm EST
With Hillary looking like the front runner for the Democratic party, Are you satisfied with her as candidate despite her constant flip flopping on issues like The War, Social Security, and Immigration? Or are we once again going to be forced to vote for the “Lesser of Two Evils” from both parties?
Puremuny | 8/14/2007, 4:20 pm EST
Quick and honest question. Is flip flopping for all politicians another name for negotiating?
Merkwurdigliebe | 8/15/2007, 12:05 am EST
why is it that biden and richardson, the most qualified candidates on the democratic side, are consistently ignored for lightweights like edwards?
DirtyDennis | 8/15/2007, 11:09 am EST
Why isn’t anyone asking the obvious? Let’s not dance around it:
Is there a realistic chance for a black or a woman to win the presidential election?
Jed Clampett | 8/15/2007, 4:25 pm EST
because after they ellected a C average frat boy dufus and the penguin, anything is possible.
Hey, if they elect guiliani he’d be the first mafia controlled president since Johnson had kennedy killed.

DIRTY DENNIS
I THINK THE CHANCES OF HILLARY WINNING ARE PRETTY GOOD, AS LONG AS THE REPUBLICANS RUN DAVID DUKE,
IF THE REPUBLICANS DON’T RUN DAVID DUKE,, THEN HILLARY IS IN TROUBLE…
AS FAR AS A “BLACK MAN” WINNING THE WHITE HOUSE..
I THINK A COLON, A TIGER, A WILSON, A ROGER,, MAYBE EVEN A THEOTIS COULD WIN,, BUT WITH WORLD WAR 2 AND ALL THE TROUBLE WE HAD OUT OF THE GERMANS,, SOMEONE WITH A ” GERMAN ” NAME LIKE ” OBAMA ” WOULD HAVE TROUBLE WITH THE PATRIOTIC VOTE..
NOW THAT WE’VE ALL KNOW THAT NO MUSLIMS WERE INVOLVED IN THE 9/11 THING..
Jed Clampett | 8/15/2007, 5:55 pm EST
RUDY GIULIANNI= DAVID DUKE
see the newest RS post called “Giuliani’s Peace-Through-War Platform”
“why haven’t I heard any of the democrats say the word IslamoFascistTerrorist?” translation: Why aren’t they blaming the whole thing on all Muslims instead of the few criminals that are using terror as a political tactic… like the republicans do? hmmm, another way the right wing extremists resemble the muslim extremists. Seems like they are on the same side of the battle, doesn’t it. The side that wants the spoils of war at any cost.
Hallzee | 8/15/2007, 6:20 pm EST
Puremuny,
Is flip Flopping another word for negotiating? Is negotiating another word for Political Positioning?
Puremuny | 8/15/2007, 8:07 pm EST
Hallzee,
Good call it definitely could be.
DirtyDennis | 8/15/2007, 9:13 pm EST
Jesus you two, get real. You act like college freshmen just taking Sociology 101. You ‘discover’ something the rest of the world has known for a couple of hundred years and praise yourself for your elucidation.
“Flip-Flopping ” is what the ‘other side’ does, get it? Our/Your side merely adjusts their position after assimilating new, relevant information.
Can’t you find some Right Wing site, like the Klan, to show off your acumen, instead of boring the rest of us?
ray | 8/15/2007, 11:54 pm EST
Jed, the Democrats dont blame it all on the moslems because they know the moslems are one of the fastest growing segments and they need their votes.
Jed Clampett | 8/16/2007, 2:10 am EST
brilliant!!!
did you think that up all by yourself?
I’m sitting here watching MilChan about the bombing of Pearl Harbor and what was done to the japanese-american citizens on those days following the attacks and wondering why we squandered that asset, they could have been enlisted to translate for us, to teach us the ways of the enemy in order to intuit their probable moves, to learn about the culture and what drove them to do what they are doing. Why were they considered less patriotic than white people? just because their eyes are different and where much better at math and had a better connection with spirit?
And now morons like you are trying to drive us into the very same mistakes. Making enemies of totality of Islam is not only imbecilic, it is defeatist in that it will make people who would have been more patriotic than yourselves into enemy sympathizers at the least, enemy combatants at worst.
You are supporting a guy that in ‘94 already knew what the consequences of invading Iraq would be and still did not plan accordingly, and you have the nerve and stupidity to come on a public forum and post some imbecilic shit in support of some rovian ideal of win at any cost? Do you really want to shit on the constitution to see the republican party keep draining away tax money? wasting resources in what could be the begining of the third global conflict?
Grow up dude, if you can’t think of something more intelligent than that to say just keep your hand on your tool and off the keyboards.
I realize americans don’t really like history, but how else can you learn from past mistakes?
If your recording and remembering of history is not honest and subjective then how can you correct what you’ve wronged?
How can you not be honest with yourselves and realize that wars are destructive energy unleashed and nothing good can come from them?
I always thought US americans were better than that.
Puremuny | 8/16/2007, 3:30 pm EST
Easy Dirty Dennis. It was a basic question and answer.
Try the decaf or an AA/NA meeting.
Hallzee | 8/16/2007, 4:18 pm EST
Ray,
Outstanding. Abide and Aid the enemy and create a voting base
Dirty D,
Talk about regurgitating the same old crap. Right Wing automatically equals the Klan? Refresh my memory, but wasn’t the Klan started by the Democrats? I know, ask the great great great Senator Bird from WV. He would know since he was a card holding member!
DirtyDennis | 8/16/2007, 7:18 pm EST
Halzee,
Let me see, the Klan IS right wing, correct? YOU are right wing. Forgive me for assuming the obvious. Sure Bird was a Democrat and he was ‘conservative,’ but where have you been? We’re the party that embraces a wide spectrum of positions. Haven’t you been following the crap in IL? Besides, Byrd was a Dixiecrat, the last, we can hope.
What’s in a name? I am a ‘Democrat’ because it’s the more liberal of the parties. It’s far from perfect, but then, so is this world. You can put my voting position down as: “Anyone but a Con.”
Merkwurdigliebe | 8/17/2007, 11:20 am EST
careful dennis, dont fall into the ad hoc fallacy the too many fall into left or right…just because A and B seem similar, doenst mean they are
yes, the klan are right wing, but so what? that’s like saying because Charles Manson was a liberal that automatically means that all liberals are like him, or Marx, or Che Guevarra, or whomever the left holds dear. or like saying someone with long hair is automatically a girl, or someone with a wooden leg is automatically a table
for the record both parties are essentially the same…both want big government in some fashion, either social or and incredibly strict police style state, and both suppress the other side, and both exploit there supporters…these be hard times for libertarians
also becareful when you simply vote “against” someone, simply becuase of a label attached to them…the people of Germany voted against the communists and got Hitler, doh! remember kiddies think with logic before you vote, not bleeding hearts
Jed Clampett | 8/17/2007, 12:44 pm EST
wow, you just made the point dennis and I have been trying to sink into these guys for over a year. brilliant!!
DirtyDennis | 8/17/2007, 3:29 pm EST
Merk,
Good sound logic and I can’t disagree. I’m not an ideologue but I AM given to bouts of extravagance. It may NOT be hotter than the gates of hell outside, but that’s my description, thank you. And there have been those on the ‘other side’ that I have even admired. Lowell Weicker, (?) late Senator from Connecticutt, comes to mind.
Your reference to Hitler is good, not many realize what was happening in Germany at the time. The German Volks didn’t have a lot of choices, did they?
DirtyDennis | 8/17/2007, 3:34 pm EST
Jed,
I hadn’t thought about it, but I guess that’s what we’re doing here: soapboxin’. I believe people believe what they want to believe. And they don’t believe what they don’t want to believe. Very few are able to transcend their ‘place’ in life. I would like to think a Liberal is ‘more open’ to input but it’s probably not so. Still, I’m glad I’m a Liberal. If I had a choice, that’s what I would choose.
GonzoFish | 8/17/2007, 5:18 pm EST
I feel refferencing of the Klan and the 3rd Reich damages one’s point nowadays. People on either side keep accusing the other of being like those movements. It would be best if we could insult each other in new and more interesting ways.

All I ask is that, though I am registered as Republican, please do not assume I am a Nazi or a Racist or a NeoCon. I’m a Republican because I feel they are the most conservative of the two parties. I prefer to be more conservative on fiscal side and less on the social side. Just leave my taxes low and let me work for a living, raise my family and live the American Dream.
I also feel the Republicans are better at protecting this country than the Democrats. Look I know, Bush F-d Up Big on the way he handled 9/11 and The War. He had everyone on his side after 9/11 and he could have been a great President. And I apologize for that, but like I read on this blog, don’t lump all of us together because some of us screwed up…BIG!
DirtyDennis | 8/17/2007, 6:22 pm EST
Halzee,
Well said. I will make a willful effort to control myself in the future. I hope everyone will make the same effort. I won’t lump if you won’t attack.
I don’t believe you to be a Nazi nor a NeoCon. Your disparaging remarks about your representative gives cause for one to believe you have something against either her nationality or her gender.
I’m not sure what fiscal conservatism is, but I believe we’d all like to see our money better spent. Upon that, I’m sure all agree. Social liberalism or conservatism is, I’m sure, in the eye of the beholder. I think I’m conservative, but you probably would deem me radically permissive. The last 100 years has seen a continuing relaxation of social mores. I’m not sure how much more relaxed it can get. I’m okay with live and let live, just keep your damned dog quiet.
I would agree with you that the Republicans ‘appear’ better at defending the country. But that’s because they shoot first and ask questions later. They have shown themselves to be little more than pawns of the military and the defense providers. JFK’s behavior in addressing the Cuban Missile Crisis is a case in point. I shudder to think what the outcome would have been if a Bush or Reagan had been confronted with the dilemma.
And while WE might be safer, the margin of which is legible, it’s a cinch the rest of the world is not. Just ask any Grenadians, Panamanians, Afghanis or Iraqis.
