Not So Bright; Handsome Though

7/30/07, 7:41 pm EST

(Via The Swamp):

“YouTube is a website that allows kids to network with one another and make friends and contact each other. YouTube looked to see if they had any convicted sex offenders on their web site. They had 29,000.” —Mitt Romney

Um, Mitt, that’s MySpace, where you, Mitt Romney — quite coincidentally, we’re sure — have 29,000 friends.

Vastly amusing coincidence and quote Tim. Thanks for the laugh.

You can’t be too hard on the republicans for not understanding the internet, they only see it as something that needs to be shut down for having dirty pictures on it.

ray | 7/30/2007, 10:26 pm EST

i was disapointed, to see that Rudy and Romney are skiping the GOP you tube debate.

C U in Hell | 7/31/2007, 6:32 am EST

Good Lord, we’ve got another George W. Bush on our hands.

qwerty | 7/31/2007, 9:28 am EST

youtube=google. that’s democrats, my friends. their money goes left. myspace=rupert murdoch. that’s republicans, folks. their money goes right.

it’s not hard to figure out. mitt romney knows the difference. so do his people. they CHOSE to say ‘youtube’. why risk losing murdoch money to your lousy campaign? it’s all calculated.

what a putz.

Actually we can call it the GOP candidates being scared to take questions directly from the public.

If they run scared at the prospect of talking to some guy in their underwear then how are they gonna react to the next Osama attack? Probably the same way Guliani did: try to find the best way to make money off it.

Only 29,000? Shit I’d bet either Clinton could pull more than that! Bill I know could do that a hundred fold and I’d be on his friends list! If Tila Tequila has 2,000,000 Hitlery might manage half that! Just google cigar and Clinton and see how many results you find…

DELTAWILDMAN | 8/1/2007, 12:53 am EST

How about this,, I think that it will make the cut,, if that’s what you call it..
If I were a muslim, instead of an American,,,
Looks like you can’t be both..
But if I were an American Muslim.. and I wanted to make damn sure that my rights,, as a muslim were abided by… I’d demand that you AMERICANS, look towards my Islam,,, and convert to it..
If you didn’t convert to islam.. then you’d be going to jail or to death..

HOW ABOUT THEM CHRISTIANS??
THEY DON’T KILL YA IF YOU DON’T AGREE WITH THEM.

DELTAWILDMAN | 8/1/2007, 12:57 am EST

MIGHT BE TIME FOR THEM
“CHRISTIANS” TO DO JUST THAT…
WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF THE “CHRISTIANS” DECIDED TO GET REAL MEAN ABOUT THINGS??
WHAT IF THE “CHRISTIANS STARTED ACTING LIKE THE ( MUSLIMS )??
THERE WOULD NOT BE A LIVING liberal ON THE GROUND IN AMERICA!!

I’ve seen a lot of crap posted here, but don’t think I ever expected to see anyone portray Christians in such a way. Just which Christians are we talking about, anyway? I guess we’re talking about the ‘new’ Christians. Not those awful ones in the Inquisition. Or those awful ones conducting Pogroms. Or those awful ones responsible for the holocaust.

I guess it wasn’t Christians who wiped out the Indian population in this country. And I guess it wasn’t Christians who tried to bomb the Vietnamese back to the stone age.

When I read crap like this, I understand how the mindless minions of mediocracy are so manipulated.

I Got You Bender..... | 8/1/2007, 2:34 pm EST

Isn’t it amazing, Dirty, how people can brush under the mat, or look the other way, when you have the biggest gun?? The things you mentioned happened, but have been spun in a different light and perpetrated on the American public. We always seem to point the finger at other people, but how many deaths do you think the U.S. is responsible for in our short history? As this article shows, our politicians, are mostly disconnected with reality. It’s a pretty simple analysis though. Politicians lie. But, the difference is that Democratic lies spread money all over the place. Republicans lie about reasons to go to ‘war’, and they keep all the money in one place – Defense/Religion Industry….

Jed Clampett | 8/1/2007, 5:17 pm EST

Hey we didn’t forget in latin america.
How about helping to depose an elected president in Chile and propping up a military junta that made thousands disapear and tortured thousands more while pilfering the wealth of the country and stashing the money at briggs bank.
Guatemala, supporting a military junta that carried out a war of repression on their poverty stricken population.
Selling cocaine in east LA to buy arms to sell to Iran for profit in order to buy weapons to arm the nicaraguan contras in contravention of US laws(those guys were pardoned, Ollie North anyone?).
Assisting a military junta in argentina in much the same way, add to that el salvador and who knows what other secrets not revealed by CIA and other US agencies.
Let’s not forget that those events have led to the destitution and desperation that causes those people to leave family, support structures and the country they love to come here to work for slave wages. How many contractors rebuilding NO are using foreign workers at $7/hr and then charge them $300 a month to live in a modified cargo trailer with 15 others?

When the world looks at america, they see a wealthy, prosperous nation that is the one hope for all that despots and greed can be defeated, however they temper that with the knowledge that what america supports abroad is totaly in contravention of what they espouse on paper(i.e. the constitution).
And now they want to sell $20BILLION worth of weapons to the ‘frenemies’ in soudi? Do they not realize those weapons will be turned on our own soldiers in short time?
Wahabi’s were helped by Soudis when Egypt expelled them. The extemist movement was a product of Soudi support for those Wahabis. Soudis say they are our friends to our face, yet they feed their public the opposite view, why is that allowed in a totalitarian state? What the hell is wrong with this coutry? Have they been drinking dead water from leaden cups?

We need to eliminate OIL as a power source as quickly as possible. We must make water our friend and only energy source. We have mistreated water for so long that it is becoming our enemy as evidenced by all the recent flooding, we must follow Viktor Schauberger’s teachings and make water alive and healthy again or we will all surely die.

Like they say, Bender, history is written by the winners.

So MySpace finds 29,000 pervs among a population of 180,000,000. How many do you think are in Russia (pop. ~141,000,000) or Japan (pop. ~127,000,000)? Indeed, California alone has over 63,000 (some estimate >100,000) persons required to register as sex offenders. So in this context, MySpace stats aren’t really too surprising.

leroy | 8/5/2007, 7:43 pm EST

you guys are right, there is a proven correlation between iq and familiarity with myspace….actually, I’m pretty sure that its an INVERSE relationship!
