NOPE, I THINK ALL 19 OF THOSE HIJACKERS DIED WHEN THE PLANES CRASHED..
THERE ARE A FEW FOLKS WHO WOULD LOVE TO BE GIVEN THE CHANCE TO DO THE SAME THING OR WORSE TO AMERICA..
I WONDER WHY THEY HAVE NOT DONE IT YET?
SUPPOSE,,, JUST SUPPOSE THAT ALLAH TOLD THEM TO CALM DOWN A LITTLE..
SUPPOSE,, JUST SUPPOSE THAT BUSH SAID IF WE HAVE ANOTHER 9/11, SOMETHING REAL BAD IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO SOME MUSLIM COUTNRY..
OR, YOU CAN MAKE UP ANY REASON YOU WANT,
BUT THE FACT OF THE MATTER IS,, YOUR AVERAGE TERRORISTS COMES FROM PARTS OF THE WORLD, THAT BELEIVE THAT YOU CAN CATCH A VIRUS SENT TO YOU OVER YOUR CELL PHONE, AND THE REST OF YOUR LOVED ONES WILL CATCH THAT VIRUS AND ALL OF YOU WILL DIE FROM THAT VIRUS..
HAY FOLKS,, I’VE CAN MAKE FIRE WITH THIS LITTLE PLASTIC TUBE..
THE GREAT SPIRIT OF BIC IS THE FIRE GOD!!
FOR GOD’S SAKE,, WE CAN NO MORE UNDERSTAND THESE PEOPLE, THAN WE COULD UNDERSTAND THE CAVE MAN…
SO WHY SHOULD WE TRY, TRY TO GET ALONG WITH THEM, AND IF THEY HURT US AGAIN LIKE THEY DID ON 9/11, BRING OUT THE ICBM SPIRIT OF HELL FIRE AND BRIM STONE!!
David | 7/12/2007, 5:22 pm EST
Just more scripted trash. The repubs need to fund a better think-tank. This trite stuff has got to go.
Can’t wait for these guys to be GONE from Washington…
ray | 7/12/2007, 5:41 pm EST
I watched about 10 minutes of the presidents event today, i hadnt watched him in a while, hes really gotten juevenile.
why wait, act now! | 7/12/2007, 6:12 pm EST
I don’t quite understand why we (people and congress we voted in pretty much for this one task) dont kick these people out now. Instead we have approved the troop surge and are continuing along as if bushes administration still held sway over congress. I guess perhaps they still do.
Jed Clampett | 7/12/2007, 7:05 pm EST
They do still control congress, they can filibuster anything they want because the dems only have a simple majority instead of a 2/3s majority. you want the dems to remove these guys you should start writing and calling your congresspeople and let them know you will vote against them if they don’t represent the people.
alternately or conjointly, go on the streets, organize. a one day stoppage of work by all people in major cities will definately make them sit up and take notice. The economic repercussions would scare the sh*t out of the wealthy, they loose lots of money when they don’t produce, economics of scale.
rich U powerful | 7/12/2007, 7:45 pm EST
Its good that you bring up money in this Jed. Sometimes its good to remind us that the wealthy (not the rich neighbors down the street, I mean the ones that have enough money to start controlling things) are another part of this political mess.
I really like the idea of wide spread worker shortage. The idea itself has helped me see this whole situation at a different angle.
DELTAWILDMAN | 7/13/2007, 7:54 am EST
HELL IT’S FRIDAY 13, I’VE GOT A HANG OVER, AND SOMEONE’S GOT A “GUT FEELING” THAT SOMETHING BAD IS GOING TO HAPPEN OVER THE WEEKEND..
I’M GOING BACK TO BED..
WAKE ME UP AROUND 10:30 MONDAY MORNING AND TELL ME WHAT HAPPENED..
AND IF NOTHING HAPPENS.. THEN WE KNOW THAT “GUT FEELING WAS NOTHING MORE THAN GAS”
Margie Miller | 7/13/2007, 3:54 pm EST
Mitt may seem squeaky clean but he scares me to death. I know too many LDS who have been excommunicated for writing unauthorized history. The LDS are famous for having to “heed to councel”. I can just see the LDS church running the White House like Chaney does right now.

Bush should be charged with war crimes after starting this preempted war saying (for his excuse) that there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq that could hurt anyone when our inspectors over there said that there weren’t after looking for awhile!!! We’ve wasted Billions of dollars and above all thousands of American lives!!!
That's Right | 7/13/2007, 4:02 pm EST

Also, an estimated 200,000-400,000 Iraqi civilians have died in this war and that around 66,000 civilians have died in this year!!!
Why argue? | 7/13/2007, 6:41 pm EST
The morons have spoken! See the last 3-4 comments.
Let me save some of you the trouble of posting since 97% of your comments run like this:
Bush is a lying liar. As scientists have told us, there is a universal consensus that no Democrat has EVER been a lying liar and if you cite examples or say I’m wrong, then you are a lying liar, too.
Not ONE Democrat EVER supported the war in 2003, Bush started it all by himself. You are a lying liar if you insist ANYTHING else, be it UN Resolutions or Congressional votes approving the war.
Bush lied about … stuff and the Dems are much smarter than the dumb lying liar Bush. Since lying is not something a Democrat would ever do EVER, the Democrats had no choice but to believe that Bush the dumb lying liar was like them, smart and being truthful about WMD when they almost did but really DIDN’T support the war in 2003 … you know, when the war was popular.
As it turned out the Democrats made the first ever mistake in the party’s history and believed the dumb lying liar (Bush) despite having called him a dumb lying liar long before he was even nominated … since all Republicons (Ha! That’ll show ‘em) are also lying liars.
The Dems turned against the war (or WOULD HAVE, had they ever really been for it) just as the American people turned against it and were then reminded by Democrats that we could better spend all that money on publik skoolz and union contrax.
Vote Democratic! Hate all Repubes (HA!)

Hey Rorschach,
Every time I see your post, I see a complete moron–BECAUSE YOU DON’T EVEN SPELL YOUR OWN MONIKER CORRECTLY.
Other than that, you seem to accept that Al Qaeda has defined the battlefield. Letting the enemy define the battlefield = sure sign of a loser. If Al Qaeda has read your post they would only feel emboldened at your breathtaking stupidity.
And “Why Argue,” I like that you are as flagrantly hypocritical as Bush. Why argue right? Then you argue. It’s as retarded as a Neocon arguing that the people we bomb will greet us as liberators. It’s almost as dumb as is possible in this world of ours and your embracement of stupidity confirms my expectations: Republicans are simply stupid. Period.
Then you predictably blame Democrats for the war the Republicans lost WHILE RULING EVERY BRANCH OF GOVERNMENT. You are simply depressed at your own utter and complete failure. You are pathetic. But then again, that’s what I’d expect from a conservative (ahem… a CON).
Keep conning yourselves…
Hey Word | 7/14/2007, 1:15 am EST
You couldn’t follow a cogent point if it was at the end of your bong. I like that you’re as dumb as Bush. But that’s what I’d expect from a kneejerk (ahem, a jerk).
Politicans lie??? Gasp! | 7/14/2007, 1:31 am EST
Hey Word, You couldn’t follow a cogent point if it was at the end of your bong. I like that you’re as one-dimensional as 90% of the commenters. But that’s what I’d expect from a unoriginal, lockstep lib kneejerk (ahem, a jerk).
Rorshach | 7/14/2007, 1:33 am EST
word, how i spell my name is irrelelvant, and has NO BEARING with the content therein, much like the subject matter of your posts
the point of the post is that tim is once again twisting a statement out of context to revive the old beaten warhorse of “bush thinks iraq was involved in 9-11), when he is commenting on the current status in iraq…btw, how is it letting the enemy define the battlefield if you acknowledge that they are there and trying to kill you
oh well…you probably have the liberal agenda’s dick so far up your ass you don’t care…keep conning yourself
Jed Clampett | 7/14/2007, 2:16 am EST
Hey Rorshack, did you bother to follow the link that Tim posted along with his comment to provide context to the comment? Obviously not since it is very clear that…
“The president was responding to a question from NBC correspondent David Gregory, who asked why Americans shouldn’t believe he is “stubborn or in denial.” Gregory was referencing a report in Thursday’s Washington Post that indicated CIA Director Michael Hayden saw as “irreversible” the lack of progress in Iraq. ”
…thereby proving that yes, he is stubborn and in denial (TOTALLY SELF DELUDED). Al qaeda wasn’t in Iraq before we opened the door for them by removing the dictator that was keeping the shook up soda bottle capped. Now, it isn’t al Qaeda trying to kill us, it’s everyone. Anyone with a bullet, even if they don’t have a gun, want’s to at least throw it at us in protest at how mishandled their ‘liberation’ has proven to be.
Saddest thing. We have become the parias of the world, today at the pan am games the american team was booed; at the miss world competition the american beauty was booed and shouted down. It’s the same pretty much anywhere in the world, effectively making the US as popular as Yugoslavia during the Milosevich regime or Hitler’s Germany. Good Job, don’t you feel safer now that we’ve made so many new ‘friends’?
Why argue? | 7/14/2007, 11:11 am EST
Anyone quoting Carlos Mencia, a noted joke thief and hack, is far dumber than they could ever realize.
Ditto anyone who posts TWO paperback novel sized political rants on a music magazine’s website.
Make no mistake, you are single handedly saving the world by cutting and pasting the same overheated rhetoric available at a mere 300,000 other places on the web.
Keep on truckin’, The revolution will not be televised, Peace, love, dope and … whatever other cliches you haven’t already posted.
Jed Clampett | 7/14/2007, 1:07 pm EST
I guess you saw no viable points whatsoever in my ‘paperback novel’ sized posts to even give you the incentive to address them without generalized derogatory statements without basis? See, that is the problem we are having with politics these days, too many morons like yourself who, when presented with a well posited argument, resorts to shutting the debate down by avoiding the topic altogether and making personal attacks… BRILLIANT!!!
Jed is Dead | 7/14/2007, 4:08 pm EST
I’d happily respond to a cogent, original point, when and if you make one, rather than the pseudo-profound recycled tripe you repeatedly post.
You condemn and alternately use personal attacks. Perhaps if you showed a sign, ANY sign, of intelligence, calling you an idiot wouldn’t seem such a perfectly natural and logical thing to do.
Jed Clampett | 7/14/2007, 4:35 pm EST
I would expect nothing different from your kind of being.
C Co... aka I Smell Propaganda | 7/15/2007, 12:06 pm EST
“Same Folks” = Al Qaeda
Tim, you’re lying by implying that Bush has. Since when has the truth ever mattered in your blog, anyway? You’re an embarrassment to professional journalism.
“Why argue?” – Your last two comments were fantastic. Jed and all the uber-leftists know they got slammed but are too egotistical (or blinded by hate) to admit such things.

Egads, the bottom post along with the “rorshach” dribble-how much do these sock puppets get paid to attempt(and, Never Accomplish) to apologize for Bush’s Mess and Lies.
The imbecile who kept assuring the American people that, “If we fight ‘em over there, we won’t have to fight ‘em over here”…
His lame(the real guy in charge of the post-Katrina Failure)head of “Homeland Security”-Chertoff- is now feeling Itchy about a “possible attack on America”.
It used to be “Death and taxes” and now it’s “Wars that Target us for International Hate”/fought to loot oil from other countries-without cause, Insurance companies that have taken down the “healthcare system” via lots of Republican votes and help, an infra-structure that has been robbed by Bush and “friends”, the minority that Governs Unfairly and without the support or approval of the Majority, and the most Corrupt “administration” that has spun an ugly Web of Corporate Fascism to Insure just who pushes our country into heinous acts to benefit No one but scum politicians and corporate…
Impeachment and Imprisonment are the Only solutions and no one seems to have the guts or the true interest of people to do it…
And let’s keep starting Wars with everyone we “don’t understand”-it’s gone so well with Iraq…
Who are you nut-Cons?
Why argue? | 7/16/2007, 12:57 pm EST
How unfunny!!! A liberal masquerades as intelligent!
Clueless!!!
'i came here for an argument!' | 7/16/2007, 2:49 pm EST
I can’t even tell what the debate is about for most of the last 10 or so comments. I’d suggest in the future to just ignore any comments that degenerate into insults. Otherwise the issues that actually matter get sidelined in favor of personal attacks that really get us all nowhere.
Back on topic: was or was not the comments bush made taken out of context. I searched the article for a full transcript but I didn’t find anything in regards to that statement in the actual press conference dialog.
Hallzee | 7/16/2007, 4:27 pm EST
RS, or the Media in general would ever take something GW said out of context. Yeah Right!
Even if he did say it, it is true! Not that Iraq was involved with 9/11, but in regards to Fanatical Arab Islamic Extremists that want to blow people up in the name of Islam, Bush is exactly roght on!
Nice Try Tim, What else you got for us.

I can’t even tell what this National Affairs Daily is about for most of the last 10 or so posts. I’d suggest in the future to just ignore any Bush, Giuliani, McCain, Thompson posts that degenerate into insults.
Otherwise the issues that actually matter get sidelined in favor of personal attacks that really get us all nowhere.

Back on topic: If it’s on Nat’l Affairs Daily, assume it was taken out of context.
“I searched the article for a full transcript but I didn’t find anything in regards to that statement in the actual press conference dialog.”
Try looking BEYOND the article. You’re already on the internet, you can easily find complete press conference transcripts.
Perhaps you need to look for political information beyond a music magazine’s political page.
Just as no sane person asks (or cares about) a politician’s musical opinions, I wouldn’t expect Stereogum, Pitchfork or Rolling Stone to provide meaningful political opinions. It’s not their forte.

He’s just trying to convince himself at this point…Otherwise how could he live with himself, having caused the deaths of thousands more innocent people?
Surely, he can’t possible think he’ll convince the American public to fall for that line all over again…can he?

He’s just trying to convince himself at this point…Otherwise how could he live with himself, having caused the deaths of thousands more innocent people?
Surely, he can’t possibly think he’ll convince the American public to fall for that line all over again…can he?
Still going... | 7/16/2007, 6:35 pm EST
I guess my point was lost. I ask for restraint from personal attacks that seek to distract from real discussion and look what I get: personal attacks on myself. It is my fault though for making myself a target.
I think I’ll just try to stick to my own advice and ignore it. As much as I want to defend myself from it, and point out the assumptions and errors, it would only lead to more personal attacks. So, with that revelation, I’ll just try to pick out valid points of discussion and filter the rest out.
Back on topic again: From watching the actual video footage, now I’m convinced that bush was caught in an outright lie. Not having found the transcript text (which would only remove subtleties of inflection and such anyhow), I can’t quote the entire thing here so I recommend just watching it yourself.
appeal to authority | 7/16/2007, 6:52 pm EST
Well, you might take the high road so to speak and try teasing out anyone who is just trying to deflect the issue or whatnot, I can’t do that. I think this debate is mostly dead. So, let me take a stab at this guy.
“If it’s on Nat’l Affairs Daily, assume it was taken out of context.”
Haha. That is funny. I don’t even need to point out how fallacious this is.
“Try looking BEYOND the article. You’re already on the internet, you can easily find complete press conference transcripts.
Perhaps you need to look for political information beyond a music magazine’s political page. ”
Brilliant. Too bad it implies unproven points. Next.
“Just as no sane person asks (or cares about) a politician’s musical opinions, I wouldn’t expect Stereogum, Pitchfork or Rolling Stone to provide meaningful political opinions. It’s not their forte.”
Deflection man, up up and away! There he goes, making fallacious attacks against the speaker and not against what was spoken.
That felt good. I see why you do this now. It is much more fun going off on tangents against others rather than actually addressing the points brought up themselves.

Appeal to authority: Does that mean your mom wrote your post?
“Too bad it implies unproven points”
This blog’s smearing of Giuliani because some S Carolina campaign manger likes blow or unsubstantiated Thompson allegations likewise implies unproven points. The “proof” of a point is highly subject to who ox is being gored.
“There he goes, making fallacious attacks against the speaker and not against what was spoken.”
Sure, and you probably never attacked the Swift Boat Veterans as untrustworthy partisans or dismiss a right wing source as biased.
Please … you and you mom can write better arguments than that.
Debating with someone who turns to a corporate music magazine for non biased, credible source for politics is like discussing physics with a mongoloid.
If you get your politics from here, where do you get your music recommendations from, Cat Fancy or Car & Driver?

Tip: Keep Ignoring the immoral war in Iraq, ignore the huge deficit, ignore the lack of Good jobs, ignore the plight of Katrina victims, Still, without funding for Rebuilding, jobs, lack of police force, the ten thousand “Missing” but not counted as Deceased-ala Bush and Bumblers, ignore, the boob Bush appointees who will be responsible when the next Unheeded terrorist warnings and attack happen.
Ignore that we have Satan’s Twins giving Bush his policies(Rove and Cheney), ignore we have an illiterate imbecile and the “Twins” giving us War Plans, ignore that Oil and Insurance and Pharmaceuticals are Controlling the country and its speedy Downhill Decline and, ignore that Military Industrial Complex is deciding on the next War(rhimes with Japan) and, war Profiteering is Bush’s and his administration’s legacy….
We have the Ignorer and the Explorer(the slums of RS seems beneath them)They seem to be incoherent and devastatingly smothered in Bush Propaganda and Ignorance…Who Knew!
