7/10/07, 2:16 pm EST

In case there was any question about what Rudy’s pledge to “keep America on offense in the Terrorists’ War on Us” really means, please take note that he has hired as his Senior Foreign Policy Adviser Norman Podhoretz, author of The Case for Bombing Iran.

Being on the offensive againt terror should mean an international lawenforcment and intelagence effort, not another occupation in the mideast.

Defeating Iran?

Uhm… Us and what army?

How can we bomb Iran without invading? Ah yes, to create a civil war within Iran the same way we created civil war in Iraq, Lebanon, and Palestine. The policy of supporting dictators has been trashed. Supporting the deaths of arabs by their own hand? YAAAAYYY!!!!

Now who could be responsible for that?

Giuliani’s “flaws” (even the imaginary ones RS throws to people who alreasdy weren’t going to vote for Giuliani or ANY Republican)will be overlooked by more Republicans (and Independents) than Hilary’s flaws will be by most rabid anti war Dems.

Rudy or Hilary, that’s the 2008 choice, despite the media’s desperate attempts to create horse races in either party.

Rudy- running on Fear and Terrorism

Playin the Fear Card.

The Con-Team seems to be playing along nicely-Chertoff reminding us that “SummerTime and Terrorists love to attack”…

Looking for a boost in Republican supporters, Bushdum can ignore some terrorist cell build-ups and another attack will Spark Rudy’s Campaign!

Anonymous | 7/11/2007, 2:50 pm EST

Wow, a Two-Issue candidate-Rudy…
He did so well in New York-ahem. Terroism and War -101.

How convenient Chertoff is Playing along, using the ever popular Fear Card and reminding us, yet, again, that SummerTime is a “Favorite” for terrorist attacks.

Another lapse by the Bushdum ignoring monitoring the build-up of cells in certain areas can allow another Attack and juice up the numbers of naive Bush/Republican supporters. Maybe the GOP can spark public interest in attacking and occupying Iran, next, to get their oil.
Terror and Fear seem the only Platform the RepubliCons have…What if no one buys into it, this time?

But Rudy will try & use his F & W Card- what else can RepliCons run on?

hey wow this article is interesting just like all of the negative and byass articles about Rudy. Just because he wrote a book about why Iran is our enemy and a supporter of terrorists doesn’t mean he wants to. It just shows that he is concious of our future enemies. hey lets hear some articles about hillary for once oh wait that won’t happen cause RS is all in her campaign.

You guys are on a total sidebar with China. I like how you said China is ’sidestepping US laws’. That’s exactly the problem. We’re the ones setting the ‘laws’. As if people are going to obey us. As far as supplying arms to Iran, the Bush family has been supplying arms to Saudi Arabia for about 30 years. Why? So the Saudis can arm militia groups to go around and create chaos, raising oil prices. No, this isn’t leftist propoganda. It’s fact. Anyway, on Rudy. Well, he’s digging his own hole, unless he knows something we don’t. Remember, the neocons have been accused of being part of 9/11. There must be a reason for those accusations. So, if those stupid, little thinktanks are at it again, maybe they’ll be able to exploit another terrorist attack, and corral the public again. Buckle up people, it’s about to get interesting. These neocons ARE COMPLETELY UNWILLING TO BUDGE ON THEIR FOREIGN POLICY. Look at Bush’s stubbornness. He says he’s going to let commanders on the ground decide. Well, there hasn’t been one single positive report since this war started. So, what is he waiting for? He’s waiting for the oil deal to be finalized, so he can throw push some buttons that have Iran’s name on them. However, to get the approval to do so, we’re probably going to need another attack on our soil…………………..How ever, Rudy’s problem lies in the fact that he’s already shown his hand. At least Bush has kept his goal secret.

Yeah But aas long as you don’t get caught
Extract from an article from Asia Times 2005
This huge deal also enlists substantial Chinese investment in Iranian energy exploration, drilling and production as well as in petrochemical and natural gas infrastructure. Total Chinese investment targeted toward Iran’s energy sector could exceed a further $100 billion over 25 years. At the end of 2004, China became Iran’s top oil export market. Apart from the oil and natural gas delivery contracts, the massive investment being undertaken by China’s state-owned oil companies in Iran’s energy sector contravenes the US Iran-Libya Sanctions Act. This law penalizes foreign companies for investing more than $20 million in either Libya or Iran.

Side-stepping US laws is nothing new for China. Beijing, as well as Moscow, has supplied Tehran with advanced missiles and missile technology since the mid-1980s. In addition to anti-ship missiles like the Silkworm, China has sold Iran surface-to-surface cruise missiles and, along with Russia, assisted in the development of Iran’s long-range ballistic missiles. This assistance included the development of Iran’s Shihab-3 and Shihab-4 missiles, with a range of about 2,000 kilometers. Iran is also reportedly developing missiles with ranges approaching 3,000 kilometers.

Jed Clampett | 7/10/2007, 7:15 pm EST

You mean like Ollie North sold arms to Iran (and probably others) with proceeds from crack sales in east LA in order to fund the Contras in Nicaragua in support of their attemp to overthrow the democratically elected government of Nicaragua in contravention of Laws passed by the congress?

Abraham | 7/10/2007, 6:50 pm EST

Yeah Jed But there is an issue with China if they are not seen to clean up their act in the world markets their economy gets hit
But then they just supply arms via Iran to the insurgents in Afgan and Iraq
Money makes the world go round

Abraham | 7/10/2007, 6:41 pm EST

When will the spin stop?

DAVID | 7/10/2007, 5:55 pm EST

Time to push the ‘hero of New York’ out of the race…and take his neocon cronies, too.

God forbid we have any more of this crap in Washington.

Ales G | 7/10/2007, 4:37 pm EST

Releasing a book on 11th september is like cashing on those victims. Little doubt what agenda of it will be, considering “The Case for more Misery on Middle East”.

Tyler Bass | 7/10/2007, 4:26 pm EST

So disappointing.

by the grace of god | 7/10/2007, 4:17 pm EST

Sigh. Just like every other country that has ever gone to war in all the centuries past, believing god was on their side. How depressing. I stopped reading Podhoretz bull when I saw that line. The stuff above was well disguised to seem rational but it began getting worse and worse until I couldn’t bear it. Props to anyone who manages to read the whole thing.
