hallzee you are missing the point. the controversy is not the fact that Bush granted Libby clemency – the controversy is the circumstances around the clemency, being that Libby was convicted of obstructing an investigation into the president’s closest advisers. A reasonable person would conclude that Libby was offered a pardon in exchance for his silence, which would make Bush an accessory to obstruction of justice.
