Bush Waives Libby’s Jail Time

Alas federal prisoner 28301-016, we hardly knew ye.

“I respect the jury’s verdict,” Bush said, “But I have concluded that the prison sentence given to Mr. Libby is excessive. Therefore, I am commuting the portion of Mr. Libby’s sentence that required him to spend thirty months in prison.”

All that’s left is a $250,000 fine, which will doubtless be paid by Libby’s neocon fan club, and some good old fashioned bonding time between Libby and his parole officer.

What do you think of Bush springing Libby?

i disagree with Bush, what Libby Novak and the others did amounted to treason.Idiots shouldnt be able to expose CIA agents, i dont think Libby and the others got enough,

Mr. Bush is doing exactly what he needed to do and that was keep Libby quiet. Now the question is if it is worth the effort to start the impeaching process?

Haliburton will pay Libby’s $250K fine and run this through another “no bid” contract or Cheney will reduce his salary to show that he is a “team player”.

Overall Libby will become a billionare to keep his mouth shut. Hell if this happend yesterday Libby could have been on the boat ride with the other dictators.

It’s not a surprise that W is willing to let Scooter off for his lies to Congress and the FBI. It’s exactly the same behavior that W has practiced with the American People for the last 6 years and the people of Texas before that.
