The Expectations Game

4/25/07, 3:14 pm EST

Politicians could learn a thing or two from the master of the ‘expectations game,’ Golden State Warriors coach Don Nelson, who had this to say of the league-leading Dallas Mavericks’ chances of fending off an 0-2 start to their series:

“I think they’ll do just fine the second game, they’ll be dominant as they should be, and they’ll probably mop us up, you know what I mean? We’ve got a better chance to get hit by lightning than to win tomorrow night.”

Barack Obama should have been saying the same thing a couple weeks ago about his chances of out-raising Hillary.

Personal prediction: Jason Richardson goes bonkers tonight, but the Mavs still eke out the win.

Here’s a tidbit that seems to have been ignored. This weekend, on one of the political shows, It was revealed that in addition to our regular troops, 200k+ or so depending on how much of the surge is already there, there are over 120000 private military contractors(mercenaries) working under US contract via custer battles and blackwater USA as well as other ’security’ contractors in Iraq. This is a military force that does not have to follow geneva conventions, is not subject to US laws and regulations, answert to no government agency yet is payed many times what the regular GI JOE is being paid. The reason it was brought up is that the speaker was pointing out that the Democrats war funding bill does nothing to withdraw these troops from theater. HMmm, isn’t it interesting how our lying administration is also using mercenaries to conduct this war. I know for a fact that people that were involved in Torture in Chile during the Pinochet regime have been contracted to go to iraq, they will probably get american citizenship when they complete their tour and will then be set loose on americas streets… Do you really feel safer with republicants in control??

President Bush is a genius! hiring mercenaries just gives us a cop out. Because they are mercenaries, we can say that we have no idea what there doing there or who there doing it for! Keep up the good work Commander!

IN other words, using similar tactics as the soudis, pakistanis, syrians, palestinians, etc.

so now we are the terrorists as well. Good Job George!! You’ve given the terrorists the justification they needed. No wonder the muslim world has reacted the way it has. On top of the propaganda fed to them by their government, our current administration and it’s supporters have played right into the hands of a skinny rich arab living in the dessert. Their families are so united, could it have been done this way in purpose to increase their family coffers via carlyle group and other interests? If so, wouldn’t that be treason and therefore the administration actually be enemy combatants?
