McCain: “Bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran”

4/19/07, 11:58 am EST

Georgetown Times

A man — wondering if an attack on Iran is in the works — wanted to know when America is going to “send an air mail message to Tehran.” McCain began his answer by changing the words to a popular Beach Boys song. “Bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran,” he sang to the tune of Barbara Ann.

UPDATE: Here’s the video. It’s interesting — the clip is a bit less outrageous than the words in cold print. Somehow his inflection makes it seem as if he’s clarifying the intent of the questioner rather than advocating a carpet-bombing campaign.

Wasn’t that already one of those jib jab flash cartoons. Most lunatics are at least unique in their delusions, McCain is just sad.

ray | 4/19/2007, 2:28 pm EST

At least Sen. Mccain understands Iran doesnt need to have nuclear weapons. We cant trust Iran and allow them first strike capabiliity.

DeezNutz | 4/19/2007, 3:20 pm EST

I seriously doubt that McCain will win the election without more voter fraud in Florida or Ohio. He’s power-hungry and he’ll be too old to be elected when the time comes. Also, like most politicians, he’s sold out his beliefs in order to gain the favor of “fringe” elements of the GOP.

Jab | 4/19/2007, 3:21 pm EST

If we bomb Iran, we will invade. Obviously. If we invade, we’re fucked. No two ways about it, Iran’s larger and more cohesive. We, on the other hand, will have to pass a draft to manage such an endeavor. The only hope for us if this happens would be dissent among common Iranians and their leaders. However, contrary to what our government and media say, Iranians are not oppressed and are, in fact, very Western in their outlook. Unlike our buddy Saudi Arabia.

I’m glad you guys seem to be so gung-ho on going to kill other people, since it’s probably going to be you who will be going across the ocean to fight and will leave your women to carry on and make another life here. That just improves the odds for me to get laid more.

What exactly makes the US any more trustable to not use Nukes at the drop of a hat? Let’s not forget the discussions on invading Iraq contained many discussions on the use of Nukes. Apparently the radioctivity of depleted uranium tipped bombs isn’t much of a deterrent to using them. Regardless of the damage done by this radioctive dust to all that come in contact with it… including children.

It is highly unlikely that Iran would use a nuke as a first strike on either israel or the US as it would definately be their last strike. Even a weapon delivered by unconventional means, suicide bomber rather than missile, would achieve an immediate response by israel to destroy every major city in the Arab states of the ME to reduce the number of invading troops and future conscripts because it would definately start a total, all out regional war, perhaps leading to a war on a global scale. Question is, do we want to delay the start of that global war through diplomacy and tactful negotiation or do we allow the current war mongers to start it much faster with theyr current isolation and ostracisation campaign. You know, the same thing that was done to that Korean guy in VA… we all know how he responded. Should we expect any less from the persians?

Let Them Eat Cake | 4/19/2007, 4:00 pm EST

We already have A Whack Job for President-McCain is now the cheerleader for More War…

These loonies know how to Incite it, Don’t have to have a Reason and, Can’t handle Diplomacy, Negotiations or a Coherent Plan to get us out of the Messes they make…

We all know Bush is itching to strike Iran(more oil control, less competition for Bush’s good terrorist buddies-the Saudis’).

McInsane has just joined the Bush Brigade of Fools and Failures….

C Co... aka I Smell Propaganda | 4/19/2007, 6:37 pm EST

That’s really funny.

And hey idiotically malevolent haters:
“Somehow his inflection makes it seem as if he’s clarifying the intent of the questioner rather than advocating a carpet-bombing campaign.”

DUUUUUUUH. Chill out you overly PC physcos.

Puremuny | 4/19/2007, 6:53 pm EST

McCain is a wimp. He waited until Rumsfield had his back turned and then stabbed him. If McCain had any balls he would had voiced his opinion prior. We don’t need intelligence and strength right now, not another “cowboy”.

Puremuny | 4/19/2007, 6:54 pm EST

I apologize we do need intelligence and strength right now.

C Co... aka I Smell Propaganda | 4/19/2007, 7:27 pm EST

“We don’t need intelligence and strength right now, not another “cowboy”.”

This unintelligent and weak cowboy:

-Was born in Panama, grew up in Alexandria, Va (not a cowboy)
-Was a 3rd generation war hero
-Spent 5 years of his life in POW camp in North, Vietnam, suffering injuries that have lasted to today
-Has served over 24 years in the House of Representatives and Senate
-Worked on numerous bi-partisan programs
-Known for being a maverick who has always stood up for his beliefs and his country
-Is one of the most highly respected politicians in US history

Yeah, that’s your cowboy who lacks strength and intelligence. I suggest you do your research and learn some respect before you call out someone you know nothing about. While you’re at it, purchase a brain.

Asiseeit | 4/20/2007, 12:44 pm EST

Just because Mcain grew up in Va. does not mean he is not a cowboy…at least in mentality. I live in Michigan and there are plenty of “cowboys” up here. Also, I don’t give a fuck if he was gang raped by communist horses while in Vietnam. If he will sell his soul and cozy up to GW and the fucked far right just to get elected….what will he do to the rest of the country should he gain that power?

David | 4/20/2007, 5:48 pm EST

McCain seems to be moving slightly to the right of Barry Goldwater (another right-wing war monger from AZ) who ran for President on the “let’s nuke ‘em” platform. The American public voted and Goldwater got beat bad.

McCain has a long and mostly distinguished record. During the past two or three years he seems to be losing it. Either his brain cells are finally being overcome by the AZ heat, or he’s getting bad advice.

God save us all if this war monger gets into the White House.

Duped | 4/20/2007, 7:12 pm EST

David seems to be moving slightly to the left of batshit paranoid (another left-wing fear monger from Crazytown USA) who ran from rationality on the “let’s appease ‘em” platform. The American public voted and David got beat bad.

David has a long and mostly anguished record of batshit postings. During the past two or three years he seems to be losing it. Either his brain cells are finally being overcome by the CRAZYTOWN heat, or he’s reading from a memo written in 1967.

God save us all if this appeaser posts again.

Let Them Eat Cake | 4/20/2007, 7:57 pm EST

And who said, “The right don’t have a sense of humor”.

McCain seems to be on the “Desperate Tour”(My numbers are so Low, I’ll say anything)and I guess “Bombs must be Fun”-just can’t get enough of Bombs and Death and Destruction for him, now…

The Media is desperately trying to Defuse the McLame’s comments…

The American people have had so much fun with the Iraq “War”, we just can’t wait for the the BushLeague to Lie us into another One…

Word | 4/21/2007, 3:20 am EST

McCain WAS a war hero.

Now he’s 70 years old. He’ll be 72 by the time the ‘08 election rolls around. Alzheimer’s usually starts around age 60 and the odds you’ll get it go up exponentially afterwards. McCain has already visited Baghdad, saying it was completely safe while surrounded by 100 U.S. soldiers, snipers, 3 blackhawk helicopters, 2 apache gunships and while wearing a bullet-proof vest.

The day after McCain’s visit, the market he’d said was safe suffered 21 of its workers being round up and shot to death north of Baghdad. (McCain said it was “just life”).

This isn’t lying. This is the onset of Alzheimer’s disease. McCain can’t be trusted to run the country because his mind cannot be trusted to function. We are only starting to see the first signs….

Rick_VT | 4/21/2007, 9:50 am EST

McCain’s “joke” totally beats old Imus in tastelessness. This joke about performing mass murder (regardless of the nationality) blows away the nappy hair hos comment by a crater full of nastyness. We need to take this joker off the air.

Same sh*t, different day | 4/21/2007, 1:23 pm EST

Whine, fret, overreact, call anyone who disagrees with your “born in the 60’s peace, love, dope worldview” insane, dangerous or whatever else you read on Huffpo this
AM.

Repeat daily on message boards.

John | 4/21/2007, 4:09 pm EST

In relation to McCain’s humor, consider Reagan’s quip, uttered into a microphone and now famous: “My fellow Americans, I’m pleased to tell you today that I’ve signed legislation that will outlaw Russia forever. We begin bombing in five minutes.”

Reagan went on to become the single most popular president in the history of the United States.

“Bomb Bomb Iran”

I’ve been trying to rack my
brain trying to remember who
sang the original version of this
parody song. I think it was
in 1979.

Lara | 4/23/2007, 7:47 pm EST

I will vote for Kevin Federline before I vote for McCain.

Dr. Ralph | 4/24/2007, 12:09 pm EST

What’s up with McCain in the video? Hell he can’t keep his handkerchief off his nose long enough to even answer. Talk about a drainage problem… try doing smaller lines John!

Jed Clampett | 4/24/2007, 5:10 pm EST

hmmm!! a doctor assuming drug use right off the bat rather than thinking he’s being affected by spring allergies… you don’t practice in the Dallas area, do you? I’d like to stay as far from your practice as possible.

Let Them Eat Cake | 4/25/2007, 6:15 am EST

“Reagan wasn’t one of My most Popular Presidents”….

He was led around by the nose by Special Interest Groups and signed in dastardly legislation…

The Cons would put Limbaugh and Bush up in Oil and dollar bill paper mache “sculptures” and plant them all over the country…

Add Cheney and Rove, and wouldn’t that be a Nightmare Spectacle…

Both Roosevelts, Kennedy, Clinton…

Pat Nixon’s Cerritos “Park Sculpture”, Nixon’s Library in Yorba Linda are pretty Scary….

I drive by “Fast and Furious”…

Maybe, if they do a statue of Bush, the American public can form mobs to knock it down….

Then America can JumpStart Democracy, again…

The pigeons wouldn’t even want to use it as a poop target…

Dr. Ralph | 4/26/2007, 2:57 pm EST

Jed, think about “Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail”. You have to have something to keep you going! Plus McCain has been displaying delusional and irrational behaviour…

Jed Clampett | 4/26/2007, 4:55 pm EST

being a DR. (yea right) you would know that there are more effective and less harmful stimulants available to those folks in power than an illegal drug such as cocaine.
I agree with the comment about his irrational and delusional behaviour lately… his offer to put an IED under Jon Stewarts desk night before last and his bomb iran song clearly evidence this… that could just be age or the influence of the rovian sith forces working with him on his campaign. :)

Dr. Ralph | 5/2/2007, 7:42 pm EST

No Jed, I don’t believe Johnny is on cocaine. Can’t a guy ever have any fun anymore? I’m just poking fun. The itchy proboscis is more than likely symptomatic of strong opiates! Have a nice day…
