The Big News of the Day: Tancredo

1/16/07, 6:52 pm EST

You’re going to think I’m kidding when I say that the biggest news in the ‘08 presidential race today isn’t Obama’s announcement, rather that of Tom Tancredo. But I’m dead serious.

My best guess is that Americans will continue their flirtation with Obama, but that the Democrats will ultimately settle on a candidate of greater experience as their nominee in ‘08. Judging from Obama’s resume, it’s hard to see how he’s qualified to lead America out of the catastrophe we’ve unleashed in Iraq.

Maybe I’m wrong. Maybe Obama is ready to lead America. I’m eager to watch him campaign. But I’m sadly unconvinced that America is ready to be lead by Obama. If a Blue Dog Democrat like Harold Ford can’t secure a senate seat in Tennessee in 2006, I just don’t see how any African American wins the White House in 2008.

Which brings us to Tancredo. The anti-immigrant zealot has done more than any Republican since California Governor Pete Wilson to undermine his party’s prospects with Latino Americans. His populist xenophobia has been so damaging to the GOP’s outreach to the fastest growing ethnic voting bloc in the country that Karl Rove once furiously warned Tancredo never again to “darken the door” of the White House.

Tancredo’s calls to wall off the Mexican border and deport all undocumented workers play well to a significant portion of the Republican base, and his presence in the campaign will make it difficult for other GOP contenders to stake out a more reasonable stance. John McCain has been already been backed into this declaration on the border: “I think the fence is least effective,” he told Vanity Fair, “But I’ll build the goddamned fence if they want it.”

The longer Tancredo stays in the race and the further to the nativist right he pulls the other GOP hopefuls on immigration, the greater the boon to Democrats in vital swing states like Florida, New Mexico, and Nevada.

¡Viva Tancredo!

Being tough on immigration doesn’t make you a xenophobe. If Trancredo really was that extreme on immigration he would stand no chance anyway (not that he ever had a chance to begin with). McCain has a more realitic and encompassing plan to deal with illegal immigration than the “wall people.” That’s at least partly why he’ll get the Republican nod. I don’t see how this thing about Tancredo is more important than Obama, Tim.

Go Tancredo!!!

Tancredo will spread more light
on issues every citizen needs to

should not be “Bum Rushed” by
advocates.

You’re using the experience argument after what we’ve had to deal with for the last SIX years?

Obama’s fine considering where we’re at today.

GEORGEO | 1/17/2007, 1:17 am EST

IT’S TIME THAT SOMEONE LIKE TOM TANCREDO WILL NOT JUST TACKLE ONE BEAN, BUT RATHER THE WHOLE BURRITO.

Go Tom Go! | 1/17/2007, 4:01 am EST

So sick of elitist journalists throwing around “xenophobia,” “racist,” etc. It’s not that we hate other cultures, Mr. Dickinson, it’s that we love our own, and it’s threatened. Be honest, now, Mr. Dickinson — you don’t send your kids to a mostly Hispanic school, do you? Didn’t think so.

Tancredo’s got my vote.

RAB | 1/17/2007, 4:54 am EST

Tim,
You call Tancredo a xenophobe? Are you unable, or unwilling, to make a distinction between someone who is unduly afraid of all immigrants and someone who is against ILLEGAL immigration? I have no idea yet if I would vote for Tancredo, but I hope noone reading your column makes the mistake of thinking you are informed in your opinion of him.
No moderate Republican or independent will vote for McCain for President. He joined with “Mr. far left” Teddy Kennedy to co-sponsor the rediculous Senate Amnesty bill, that would have welcomed 40 million new, unskilled immigrants into our country. It would have finished the job of destroying our middle class, by shoving our wages down to poverty level, and caused taxes to skyrocket to pay for the huge new welfare state.
You keep on advocating for that open, unprotected border. Some day soon, a Coyote will smuggle an Islamist terrorist over the border and he’ll detonate a dirty bomb in El Paso, Tuscon or San Diego. I’m curious what your column will be about the day after that.

AlphaLiberal | 1/17/2007, 6:25 am EST

Tancredo is extreme. Deal with it, people.

I do agree with the statements on Obama. I loved his Big Speech and have high hopes for him but there’s something to warnings about peaking too fast.

S Wisnieski | 1/17/2007, 7:31 am EST

I hate to break it to you but most of Tancredo’s message plays well with the vast majority of the electorate, including Democrats (the ones who aren’t elected, of course), so the appeal isn’t just to the “Republican base.” Polled honestly, support for border fences, employer sanctions, repatriation of illegals, abolition of birthright citizenship, etc., polls anywhere from 60% to 80%. Opposition to amnesty polls about equally.

And you beg the question, anyway, by saying that his posturing hurts the GOP among the fastest growing voting bloc (Latinos). It’s only the fastest growing voting bloc because of bad immigration policy. Cut off the immigration, and it’s growth is massively stunted.

And in case you didn’t notice, Pete Wilson get reelected in California when everyone said he was going to be defeated.

edgar | 1/17/2007, 9:22 am EST

I am sure you would change your tune, Mr. Dickinson, if you were ever replaced by an H-1B worker. Of course that is highly unlikely for your type of job, which is good for you. But just because you will not directly experience what millions of Americans already have does not excuse you from being aware. I guess since you are not among the millions of US Citizens who have lost their high tech jobs to outsourcing and H-1B visa workers that you can continue offering platitudes with a relatively unfettered conscience. That’s ok, I did the same thing until I lost my high tech job to an H-1B visa worker. I hope it all goes well with you.

Jed Clampett | 1/17/2007, 11:20 am EST

YOu should thank republicans for the loss of your high tech job. Mine is about to go to india, they work alot cheaper when they are starving.
But if you pay attention to what tancredo is talking about, he’s not going to do anything about people with visas or to slow the flight of ‘good jobs’ to other countries, on the contrary, his record proves he’s definately for more job outsourcing and bringing in more foreign workers.
One has to think, how many of those people being brought in from china and india and pakistan are actually agents for their state, quietly putting in software to bring down our communication and power distribution networks at the appropiate time.

KURT | 1/17/2007, 12:11 pm EST

For a person who lost his high-tech job, you would think that you should know how to spell “a lot”.

That this entire post is off base. Even legal Mexicans want this barrier in place. He isn’t trying to stop LEGAL immigration but is trying to control the flood of illegal immigration. How does that make him xenophobic?

Jim | 1/17/2007, 12:24 pm EST

Tim, I am an AMERICAN ” Hispanic” living whose familial roots go back centuries in New Mexico. We don’t want anymore illegal aliens in our state. It hurts OUR own people here. I back Mr. Tancredo 100 %. Clark Driswald | 1/17/2007, 1:29 pm EST

GO Tancredo GO!!!

Hilary | 1/17/2007, 2:01 pm EST

Hooray for Tancredo!! It’s about time someone is FINALLY going to try and do something to stop illegal immigration!!! Not only are they bringing their crime and health problems to our country, but now they expect us, as LEGAL citizens to pay for their health care!!! Give me a break! A lot of legal U.S. citizens can’t even afford health care!! The other countries are sitting back laughing at us in the U.S. for one, because now, according to our laws, our border patrol cannot fight back if an illegal alien is trying to cross the border with a weapon!! Also, they know that one day one of these illegal immigrants, when they commit an act that makes 911 pale in comparison, will cause me and people who believe like me, to say “I told you so!!” Tancredo for President!!! teamtancredo.com

Jed Clampett | 1/17/2007, 2:10 pm EST

the racism stems from the fact that they are only focusing on illegal immigration from south of the border. plenty come in from canada, many more from other countries on ships, yet those issues are not being addressed. Neither is the fact that these people come here because unscrupulous businessmen hire them illegally and take advantage of them in every conceibable way, yet when they are found guilty of this nothing is done except in the most extreme cases. If our companies stop acting contrary to our laws and ’suppossed’ ideals in their home countries then they wouldn’t need to escape their abject poverty and come to this country to suffer the indignities visited upon them. I am a legal immigrant and see the need to stop the flow of illegal migrants. Then again, if this is such a christian country, when did GOD put limitations on the migrations of people to reach location where resources are more readily available?

S Wisnieski | 1/17/2007, 2:48 pm EST

They’re focusing chiefly on border control because that’s where all most of the drug trafficking comes through. As the kids say, duh.

And Jed, God doesn’t make the laws here. That’s why the Bible tells men to “render unto Caesar.”

Jed Clampett | 1/17/2007, 3:26 pm EST

NO. Money is what jesus said to render unto ceasar, the things of value to God have nothing to do with money, everything to do with civility and kindness to others. Our laws are based on the ten commandments because the founding fathers had no fear of religion. The ’separation of church and state’ fallacy is a misrepresentation of a passage that says the government shall not promote one religion over others.

Most of the drug trafficking comes in on containers on ships by the ton, money leaves in about the same way. If they really wanted to stem the flow of drugs they would inspect 100% of containers here. Also, a truck full of fruit with a large cargo of heroin within it is the major way of ilicit drugs coming into the country, yet they only catch one or two of those a week, most go uninspected. Those things will not be prevented with a fence. There is no real effort on the ‘war on drugs’ it is merely a political slogan and an excuse to encarcerate the poor. The big time funders of trafficking don’t ever even get mentioned, they have the money and therefore have rights and considerations. One ex-drug runner responsible for bringing in tons of cocaine runs a company that does data mining for the government. I guess he was merely considered a good businessman and was allowed to use his proceeds from drug running to start a business and loby for contracts in congress. It doesn’t matter where the money comes from to our legislators as long as it’s green.

The biggest attempt on american soil b4 sept. 11 was perpetrated by a group of disenfranchized veterans of the Desert Storm campaign. We are creating those kinds of people by the thousands by not providing them the appropiate decompression care upon their return or proper care for their injuries.
The people that carried out the attacks on the WTC, both times, arrived on legal documents. Some overstayed their visas and since no one tried to find them they were able to carry out their attacks. Any figures on how many people are in the country 6 months passed the end of their visa? why isn’t more being done to find them?

The next terrorist attack won’t be perpetrated by some poor farm worker, construction worker or even a maid. It will be carried out by Muslim engineers on H1B visas from west India, Pakistan and Asia. What is amazing is that we’ve opened up our most vulnerable networks to them such that they may not even need to be in-country to carry out a devastating attack.

Jed Clampett | 1/17/2007, 3:31 pm EST

hmmmm, “God doesn’t make the laws here”. the fact that we don’t adhere to them doesn’t mean that they won’t be enforced. disrespect for those laws and creation is exactly why climate change is coming about like gangbusters.
It won’t matter what country’s laws you choose to follow or ignore just as it won’t matter how much money you have or what status you have. If we don’t strive for justice we will all be made equal as it was done in the past.

Let Them Eat Cake | 1/17/2007, 4:35 pm EST

I back Mr. Tancredo 100 %. The assertion/insertion of racism into the discussion(?) of illegal immigration is the last refuge for those who can not answer the question: how much immigration is enough?

-

Interesting persective. It seems that the opinions of legal hispanic Americans are often overlooked on the issue of illegal immigration. I put far more stock into their opinion than some elitist liberal, posting from his cushy office in NY or LA.

S Wisnieski | 1/17/2007, 5:42 pm EST

“NO. Money is what jesus said to render unto ceasar, the things of value to God have nothing to do with money, everything to do with civility and kindness to others.”

Not money, taxes. The implication is that while one’s true country is Heaven, one also has patriotic obligations on earth which one must abide. One of these is to respect the rule of law.

For heaven’s sake, the Bible is not the Koran; it provides ethical guidelines for individuals to live by, not literal laws of the land. Christianity has no sharia.

Nothing you say after that undermines the validity of stricter border enforcement, it just argues for other immigration controls as well (which I also support), so I see no point in responding to them.

S Wisnieski | 1/17/2007, 7:45 pm EST

You’re missing my point. The Koran lays out the sharia, which is the literal law of the land by which all Muslims are expected to live. There is no equivalent of this in the Bible. The Bible is just a collection of moral and ethical guidelines intended to govern personal behavior; it does not pretend, as the Koran does, to be a sufficient basis for social order. You cannot justify things on a biblical basis.

Walls are clearly not “useless” when they keep undesirable people out. That’s rather their point. You can say what you want about them but it seems to be working for Israel; settlements inside the wall have seen bombings plummet.

Environmental concerns do not interest me. People cause environmental damage generally, which is a good reason to suppress population growth by curbing illegal immigration.

And no, Jesus said to render unto Caesar after some asked him whether or not it was just to pay taxes to Caesar when the money could go to build temples. He answered this way because his enemies were hoping to entrap him, as they thought he would either tell them not to pay taxes (which was a crime) or tell them not to donate to the temple (which was reprehensible).

Anonymous | 1/17/2007, 8:36 pm EST

If you can give me some citations of where in the koran it lays out these laws I’d sure be interested, I’ve never read anything of the sort within it, and I spent a little over a month reading it. Better than the bible actually, easier read, never could read all the bible. it is also a set of guidelines for living life and warnings of what can happen if you ignore those guidelines. Dead on actually.
It is people who have given it that status just as it was done with the bible in the past.

Just remember that walls made to keep people out, can easily become walls to keep people from getting out. The israeli’s chose a wall rather than a realistic solution to the problem. They are as much prisoners inside that wall as they are protected. But that problem is much more complicated than that.

I guess by that logic, a global conflict is an even more efficient way of population control. Even better, a severe drought and global warming followed by an ice age will work even better and spare no one. I we can’t learn to work together after that, we’re doomed. An even better method of birth control is an intelligent, viable education and use of the natural methods of our ancestors. Worked fine for them.

Thankyou for the clarification on the Jesus line. It shows that at least you are aware of some of the message.

Jimbolaya | 1/17/2007, 9:07 pm EST

Thank God for Tancredo….
We need a choice (for once)

Dr. Ralph | 1/17/2007, 10:09 pm EST

Do you fools really think Osama (his real name) Obama has any chance in hell of being elected? First of all he’s black. America will elect a woman before it ever elects a minority for the highest office in the land. Secondly, he was born a Muslim and the Muslims still consider him one of their own. I can only hope Dumbocrats do put him against a Republican so we can continue our plan of world domination and total ecological destruction. Nothing like living in fly-over-red-state-red-neck-he aven! Kiss my I own 27 center fire arms’ ass.

Dr. Ralph | 1/17/2007, 11:02 pm EST

Immigration is the number one concern of working class Americans. By and large, those that favor unchecked immigration are illegal immigrants themselves or those that benefit from underpaid help. If Tom Tancredo draws his line in the sand, America will elect him. Don’t fool yourselves RS, this is what the majority wants. It is not racist to uphold the law, and I’m tired of pushing 1 for English every time I pick up a phone.

Jed Clampett | 1/18/2007, 12:04 am EST

If you really want to stop illegal immigration, it’s very simple, carryout the plan Reagan had when he gave amnesty. Fine the shit out of the employers who hire them. Give them prison terms for hiring these folks. Set up the system to appropiately identify if a prospective employee truly has the right to work in this country. And for God’s sake stop bringing in professionals from other countries and create good schools to educate our workforce.

Let Them Eat Cake | 1/18/2007, 2:58 am EST

According to the “Expert Republicans” illegals are the Main source of our problems in America.

It couldn’t be the Inept, Corrupt, Power-Hungry “President” and his Republican Economic Moves.

Perpetual Tax Cut Poster Boy has robbed our Nation of Decent Hospitals, Public Schools, Police and Firemen…

The chief benefacters have been the Monopolistic Corporations and Wealthy Republican Politicians, and, Bush/Cheney…

Who is going after the Corps that hire illegals for zip and no wages and are trying to make this merge with American workers by taking away their wages, benefits, pensions, etc.

If we are placing blame ask all the wealthy Republican businessmen/women who prey on illegls and want to subtract from thier wages and those of American workers….

Let’s focus-Tancredo is no answer to who should be cited!

McCain is no answer to anything unless you want another Republican to muck it up for our Country for four more years(One that has become a shell of what he used to be). Just another Bush Lap-Dog….

Daddy Warbucks | 1/18/2007, 2:59 am EST

I don’t like his advocating “respect for the rule of law”. We’re much better off with employers and Federales alike ignoring the stupid laws that say you can’t hire aliens unless they’ve got an H2B or whatever. Following laws is for little old ladies.

Anonymous | 1/18/2007, 10:07 am EST

To D.W. No. Follwing laws is the American democracy way of doing things. Since when do we NOT follow the laws?? Illegal aliens should NOT enter our country because it’s well, ILLEGAL!! DUH!!!!

David | 1/18/2007, 10:29 am EST

This is just another example of how clueless the Media is on this issue. The only thing “Tim” can do is name call aka (labels). I live in Denver and am very aware of the problems WE (the U.S.)is facing.

Example… I happen to travel to Yakima, Washington on biz. for a few days. Great town, nice people, Agg. based economy,60K in city, 120K in county. Place you would think about raising a family. After talking with locals this place has the 5th highest per capita murder rate in the country. Its the Meth hub of the NW!! All contolled be the South American gangs. Hospitals are going broke, Schools are strapped, Property taxes up, Public service being cut.

Just ONE more example of a City, Town, Community, Our Way of Life being destroyed!!! “Tim Dickinson” what to you know??? Just turn your head to the REAL issues WE (the legal citizens of the U.S. )are facing. Thank You

Jed Clampett | 1/18/2007, 10:44 am EST

you can’t exactly blame migrants trying to work for your meth problems and declining industry and subsequent deterioration of the community. Drug gangs are something totally different. If you pay close attention you will notice most gang members are american citizens, gangs are an american export to the southern countries because of your distaste for reforming or eliminating hardcore criminals. The easiest and quickest way to stop the meth epidemic is to prevent american companies from selling effedra in industrial quantities to shady characters south of the border… Then again they wouldn’t do that, it might hurt the industry.
It seems very easy to blame your ills on a small section of the population, people who are easily mislead will quickly fall for the propaganda spread by their party out of loyalty, It happened in germany when the Nazis blamed all their country’s and the worlds ills on the jews. It was easy at the time since it was during the great depression and it was easy to scapegoat a particular group.

AlienAle | 1/18/2007, 11:17 am EST

I’m from Colorado–Tancredo’s state. I’ve watched him for years. He handled the Hayman Fire—largest in the state, with straight forward logic. He doesn’t run on emotion, or roll over to support a “party”. He simply searches for facts. I’ve actually had him LISTEN to me, even though I never contributed to his campaign. Hows that for finance reform? He’s an independent thinker–something we’ve been missing in Washington for a long, long time. I strongly support a Tancredo Presidential run—and this time–I’m gonna do it with money!

Anonymous | 1/18/2007, 12:22 pm EST

AMEN!! He has my vote too!! America, if you want to see a drastic change in illegal immigration, you’ll vote Tancredo! Don’t believe what the media is telling you that the majority of Americans don’t care. The fact is, the polls only signify that the ones who “don’t care” ARE the illegal immigrants and the employers and government officials who want to pad their pockets! How can we be so ignorant to believe otherwise? Sorry, but I believe we need a draft!! We have way too many places our military needs to be to get this country in control again! 20,000 troop surge? What a joke! We need 100,000 and brute force with no restrictions to win this war! Whether you realize it or not, with all the insurgency coming in from other countries, we’re at war with SEVERAL countries, because we are also fighting Iran and Syria, to name a couple. We need more troops to patrol our own borders, as well as the Iranian and Syrian borders to stop the insurgency, and we need to take out Iran’s nuclear facilities and fast! Rumsfeld obviously didn’t order enough troops to begin with because he didn’t realize he would be stirring up a hornets nest! Period. End of story.

Where there’s a demand, there will be a supply, whether it’s provided by people south of the border, afghanistan, asia, wherever.

Perhaps you would do better and educate your young people to not use those drugs.
Let’s see… cocaine, an american invention. Meth, an american invention. Criminalization of a healing plant, an american invention.
Damn, america keeps shooting itself in the foot and blames others for supplying them the bullets.

Dr. Ralph | 1/18/2007, 11:38 pm EST

Hey Jed get your facts straight. Cocaine was first synthesized by a German. Albert Neimann of the University of Gottigen. As much coke was consumed by Americans in 1906 as in 1976 and the population was half! Methamphetamine was a product of the Japanese in 1919 when they super-sized amphetamines. Another fun fact is that more meth was used by U.S. soldiers during Vietnam than the entire world used during WWII when it was in it’s supposed heyday and Hitler marched armies across deserts without food or sleep! Drugs won’t stop but paying for medical expenses and court costs and food stamps and welfare for those illegally in our country should. Build a wall, that M9 from Kentucky or even Hawaiian Shake beats commercial Mex.

Jed Clampett | 1/19/2007, 9:32 am EST

Point taken Doc, it was germans that isolated the ‘active’ compound and later synthesized cocaine, but it was american corporation that comercialized it and sold it to the public creating the acceptance and dependance we have to deal with today.
YOur story about Meth and my subsequent reading makes me wonder what kind of drugs OUR people at the top are on to lead us on this path much the way it was done in the 30’s. What kind of ‘enhancers’ are they pumping into our soldiers in Iraq without their knowledge?
It is very rare, except perhaps the load on the courts, that illegals will be recipients of food stamps or medical services as they are too scared of being deported to seek those services except in extreme circumstances.

Face it man, it isn’t a war on illegals, it is a war of classes, today it’s poor mexican immigrants, tomorrow it will be immigrants from other country, when those ‘threats’ is removed they will blame it on poor blacks, then it will be other poor people… perhaps trailer dwelling rednecks.
People like pat buchanan are admirers of the Nazi regime and would like nothing better than to have a totalitarian state of that sort where everything is controlled by force rather than mitigated through education.
They clammor for ‘less government’ when what they really want is to instill chaos so they may have the excuse to impose their will by force.

Tancredo's got it right! | 1/19/2007, 5:53 pm EST

Gee, Tim- You’re one of those guys who can’t hear the train until it’s two feet from ya! You honestly have no problem with 20 million people trespassing into this country? Most nations on this planet don’t even have a population of 20 million, so we’d essentially be absorbing an entire nation worth of lawbreakers… and guess whose paying for it?
Maybe dissolving first-world nations into third-world sewers is your idea of social progress, but I’ve seen the invasion up close and you have no idea what you’re defending here.
Call me a racist and a xenophobe all you want, but illegal aliens will destroy this nation, and most Americans won’t realize this fact until it’s too late! Have fun learning Spanish, ignorant gringo!

Jed Clampett | 1/19/2007, 9:45 pm EST

are you talking about the millions of pioneers that commited genocide on the people living here in harmony with the land and the creator?

Perhaps you should read the words of Chief Joseph.

How productive do you think this country would be if you didn’t have migrants here to work for below subsistance wages building your roads, handling your luggage, cooking your food, taking care of your pampered ass brats and doing all those other jobs the poorest of the poor won’t even do since THEY ARE CITIZENS and would rathe go on food stamps and other kinds of public aid, I’m sure some of those folks would rather rob you than clean your toilet. Perhaps you should have kept your contracts and actually given that 40 acres and a mule.

CGEffect | 1/20/2007, 1:42 am EST

I hope that xenophobe really thinks he can run for Senate or President since he’ll likely get crushed in a national/state election.

I’m all for putting more security on our borders (both of our borders) while also being for the Guest Worker Program. Whenever I see both zealots to each side of this issue, I see more hypocrisy in both sides.

The reason most illegal aliens on the job get reported is due to them wanting to form a Union. The most recent illegal immigration sting was more of the employer union-busting. The employer who probably hired these workers to avoid this exact situation with American workers decides to report them now even though he had prior knowledge he was employing illegals. How could he not look at their stolen social security cards and not know? All I’m saying is how come businesses big and small don’t get ripped or punished for emplying these people? I’ve never heard this brought up.

People like Tancredo who want to build a fence are clearly underestimating what lengths people go to to get across the border. There’s underground tunnels from Mexico to the US that are quite sophisticated and are usually used for drug smuggling.

Bush only supports immigration since he thinks it’s good for the failing policies of NAFTA and CAFTA which Neo-Cons like Tancredo championed. But how can it be when you send American jobs to Mexico and other Central American regions when there’s a vast amount of immigrants coming over here to take American jobs?

I haven’t even mentioned the fact the Mitt Romney has been employing illegal aliens to work on his house after talking tough on immigration which scratches the surface of the total hypocrisy and the sudden urgency to make this a partisan issue. Jack Murtha has had a better track record against illegal immigration and for the American worker than hacks like Tancredo.

Perhaps it’s true that most illegals are mexicans, hard to make that assertion without definate numbers, which have not been even attempted to be compiled. Some would argue that those cargo ships arriving with people from asia are an even worse problem and even more akin to slavery than the latino problem.
You must know that rednecks have a tendency to lump all mexicans, latinos for that matter, into the illegal category, regardless of wether their families have roots to this land that preclude the arrival of the european invaders. YOu know, pale people, a bunch of homicidal maniacs that murdered the very natives that had saved them from certain starvation just the previous November 25th.

Best Move-Send the Corrupt Companies/Corporations(Or Heads, there of who use “illegals” and pay them nada) to Mexico or Canada(Take away their billions and make them do Community Service(Mexican-style/or Canadian)…

Stop the “outsourcing of jobs” and make the Corporations pay decent wages here, for all workers…

The disappearing pensions, health care and, benefits started in multiplicity, with Bush and his Corporate-Owned Administration…

The focus of America’s Woes has been on the wrong group….

Everyone was doing better in the Nineties…

Tax Cuts are Killers

Republican Economics are, too!(Only for the Very Rich and Weak of Soul)!

Tancredo should be President. He is not a zealot on immigration, he is a leader on the issue who does not flip=flop, back down, or lie.

Are any of you that nieve to think illegal immigrants will willingly emerge from the shadows to pay thousands of dollars, that the majority simply don’t have, for citizenship.

And what will Congress do when we have millions of illegal immigrants not emerging from the shadows and not paying fines for citizenship…they’ll let it go. It’s another AMNESTY and I encourage all voters to write their reps and support stricter alternatives.

AMNESTY CONSIDERATIONS

It is very economically advantageous to use cheap Mexican seasonal agricultural guest workers; it is very socially and economically disadvantageous to let them stay after the crop is harvested. When seasonal guest workers do return to Mexico at end of the growing season, they return with money and experience, to contribute to the development of Mexico; and each year, when a new group of seasonal guest workers comes, they are eager to work for the same low non-citizen wages. And, when they return to Mexico at end of the growing season, they do not drive down the wages of American workers, by competing for jobs in landscaping, construction, sanitation, and housekeeping; and they do not use American governmental social services.

When seasonal guest workers come from all of the countries of Latin America, on a strict quota system, then every country benefits, not Mexico exclusively; and when they are well treated, the experience is mutually positive.

Mexico is land rich in natural resources; what makes it so socially and economically retarded are its Mexican People; and wherever they immigrate they bring their deplorable civilization with them. It is so inferior than none of them want to return to it.

The Mexican dream of regaining political control over Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California is America’s worst nightmare. Starting at all of the border towns, and spreading northward throughout America, like cancers, are thousands of deplorable Mexican neighborhoods. With each deportation America looks, smells, and sounds less like socially and economically deplorable Mexico. America is presently occupied by 12 -15 million Mexicans.

With the deportation of all the illegal immigrants, students will again be able to get good paying summer jobs, to learn responsibility and earn their way through college; blue-collar wages will rise; border towns will not be slums; Spanish will not be a second language; crime will go down; hospitals and prisons will not be overcrowded.

When all of the illegal aliens are deported, the Leftist Democrats and Neo-Conservative Republicans will lose millions of political supporters, and the vast amounts of money that they receive from the Mexican Lobby; and, those American businesses that exploit cheap Mexican labor will lose their illegal competitive advantages.

No advanced civilization in the World can coexist side by side with a retarded civilization, without a great wall or fence, strict guest labor laws, and armed border guards.
