Comment of the Day: Christian Meth

11/4/06, 1:49 pm EST

From Reader “Jimmy Jazz” responding to the post  Haggard’s Unhappy Ending

Maybe this makes me a bad Christian, but I’m sorry, there’s a bit of satisfaction involved when a conservative, fundamentalist preacher gets caught mired in the same sleeze he condems on a regular basis.

Forget the gay angle for a minute: the man bought meth from a prostitute? I really don’t give a shit what gender said hooker happened to be, drugs and prostitution are wrong no matter what your religous beliefs.

Say the whole thing is being blown out of proportion if you want, but I’m sorry, I think it’s news when we find out the President is being called weekly by a methed-up john.

cake, just saw the ‘hacking democracy’ show you pointed to on an earlier post. If that doesn’t piss the public off and make them understand that it’s much better to vote on paper than digital then we’re screwed. Democrats should grow some balls and contest every election where electronic voting machines are used and the vote margins don’t match the exit polls. We can’t allow these people to usurp another election in order to raid the treasury to steal our tax money.

Let Them Eat Cake | 11/6/2006, 12:54 am EST

Jed C.

It was a very good “Special” and should have opened lots of eyes and, makes me wonder what the Democrats have planned, if it becomes Evident that the Republicans have hacked in, again in large numbers-large enough to change certain key “elections”.(Attorneys, I know but anything else?)

The media, Matthews on HardBall, is starting to talk about a “surge” of Republicans worried about taxes…

Are the networks setting up for another Florida type of Cheat In?
The polls are “narrowing”.

Forget the infra-structure falling to pieces, the missing multi-billions to “rebuild New Orleans”, the possibility of more Wars waged for profits, more Scare Tactics, college tuitions going sky-high, health care going South and, more of the Republicans and their Scandals-it’s all about Tax Cuts(who help only the small per cent of the wealthiest or Corporate…

Our country won’t be here but someone’s wallet will be Fat…

Vote Democratic while there will still be a real opponent to vote for!

And the Demos need a plan! Not Politeness this Time…

Bush, and his Republican Party just put into legislation in Sept./Oct. that “Martial Law” could be declared by Bush, if he so decides to.(Before, it was only if our Country was under Attack). And the death of HB.. Seems like the Administration was worried about people questioning “A Sudden Rise” in Republican Votes….

What if Americans Don’t Accept Certain Results in Certain states…(?)…Everyone is getting nervous…

Let Them Eat Cake – “it is largely being ignored by much of the ‘media’.”

How in the hell did you know about it if it’s being ignored by the media? CNN is reporting it, MSNBC is reporting it, Fox News is reporting it, MY LOCAL DALLAS AFFILIATES ARE REPORTING IT! So, what is your problem that you can’t see it’s being reported?

C Co... aka I Smell Propaganda | 11/6/2006, 4:14 pm EST

Yeah, it’s being reported way more than it even should. This guy isn’t running for political office. Heck, he’s not a politician. You wouldn’t even hear this story if he wasn’t some ultra-conservative.

Jed Clampett | 11/6/2006, 5:49 pm EST

Now I understan how chavez won reelection even though exit polls showed him to be trailing by 10%.
Seems that oil money can buy an election now that voting machines can be sold to the highest bidder by people that guarantee the election.

Jed Clampett | 11/6/2006, 5:51 pm EST

It’s being reported so we can understand the sort of people that are shaping government policy.

Word | 11/6/2006, 6:49 pm EST

Do you think Bush was buying meth from Haggart? That would explain alot….

Uncle Mac | 11/6/2006, 7:59 pm EST

LOL Yeah, Word, meth does tend to give you a permanent little smirk on your face…….. and when you watch those beady eyes of his shifting around like he’s trying to think, it’s probably just him trying to figure out where to get his next teener. LOL

Oh, I get it! “Cut and run” really means cut your lines up and run your straw up the center! THAT’S why he says he’s so against cut and run, ’cause he’s doing it himself! Figures!

Now that we have that all figured out, what’s next? Got any ideas, C Co or Halzee?

SATAN | 11/7/2006, 10:16 am EST

VOTE REPUBLICAN

Let Them Eat Cake | 11/9/2006, 3:19 am EST

Mess:

The networks cover it but, drop it or give it the backpage routine or try and apologise for Haggard…

We need balanced news media-too many FOX-type networks, idiot!

A little edgy, aren’t we, Mess-Not happy with the Blue Wave?

Drugs are bad for you no matter what. (Tim I agree with you.) You shouldn’t do drugs and it doesn’t matter what religion you are, drugs are still bad for you and you shouldn’t abuse your body by ‘doing’ drugs. They mess up with your mind, ruin your life, and can do a lot of damage not just to you but to other people including your family. People should pay more attention to the drug issue in the United States and other parts of the world becuase it’s getting out of hand. More and more people are using drugs and ruining their life. Everyday at my school people are always talking about getting high and drinking. Whenever I hear about this I think to myself, ‘yeah their just planning a way to die’. It’s true. Many teenagers are on drugs. People need to start doing something about it. Who cares if you look ‘COOL’ or ‘POPULAR’….I’ll tell you what, you’re not going to be so ‘COOL’ and ‘POPULAR’ when you’re dead or living on the streets because drugs ruined your life and got you nowhere. Fight against the use of drugs and help kids, teenagers, and adults to stop using drugs. You can save a life, make people proud of you, and even save your own life. Stop using drugs.
One more thing, I know that people on NHS(National Honor Society) & High-Honor Roll students, you’re supposed to look up to them, well a lot of them do drugs too, so teachers, principals, if these are the kids representing your schools, you may want to change the policy of becoming a part of NHS and tell students that its not cool to use drugs, no matter what….and explain to them why, I don’t care how long it takes, they need to be informed so everything (drug and alcohol related) can stop!!! You can make a difference if you take control. Say NO and fight agaist drugs.
