Allen and the N-Word: Salon Expose

9/24/06, 8:26 pm EST

My friend Michael Scherer at Salon has a potentially devastating expose about Senator George Allen’s affection for dropping the N-bomb in college:

Three former college football teammates of Sen. George Allen say that the Virginia Republican repeatedly used an inflammatory racial epithet and demonstrated racist attitudes toward blacks during the early 1970s.

“Allen said he came to Virginia because he wanted to play football in a place where ‘blacks knew their place,’” said Dr. Ken Shelton, a white radiologist in North Carolina who played tight end for the University of Virginia football team when Allen was quarterback. “He used the N-word on a regular basis back then.”

Explosive stuff.

If Senator Allen said those things than he should stand up and take responsibility for his actions. Just like Rep.(D) Charlie Rangal did when he used the phrase “niggers and spicks”.
What? Charlie never apologized? Oh that’s right, he’s a Democrat and he’s Black. So he gets a pass.
Never Mind.

Black, White, Republican, or Democrat. Racism is racism. Yet if a racist term is used by a Republican than they are immediatly hammered by the Left, The Media, ACLU, NAACP, Jesse and Al. But if something is said by a Democrat, or a person of color…..SILENCE!

I am all ears people. PROVE ME WRONG!

My friend Allen Rosenthong at Saloon Magazine has a hugely devastating expose about Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton’s affection for dropping the J-bomb at her Rose Law Firm:

Three former firm associates of Sen. Clinton say that the New York Democrat repeatedly used inflammatory racial epithets and demonstrated racist attitudes toward Jews and those of Semitic extraction all during her history at the law firm.

“Clinton said she came to Arkansas because she wanted to play lawyer in a place where ‘Jews knew their place,’” said Dr. Abraham Goldstein, a Jewish radiologist in North Little Rock who was represented by the Rose Law firm for malpractice while Clinton was partner at Rose. “She used the J-word on a regular basis back then.”

Insert Hyperbole stuff. I’m sure the major media will agree.

The 1970s, huh.

jeffery mcnary | 9/25/2006, 12:14 pm EST

yep…ALL ears…NO brain.lol.

Capitalist Pig | 9/25/2006, 12:23 pm EST

Explosive stuff? Did you actually read the article? They interviewed 19 people and 3 say he used the N-word, 2 said he had confederate flag but showed no signs of racism, 7 did not know him well enough to comment, and 7 said they knew he well and he was not racist. So three out of 19 say he is racist. Sounds more like a smear compaign than anything. I know very little about the man, but he must scare the shit out of the left because of the way they are going after him.

Anonymous | 9/25/2006, 2:19 pm EST

i say let’s execute senator george allen.

harryj | 9/25/2006, 3:14 pm EST

Let it Go!
It was 30 years ago, haven’t we all grown-up since then?

Hallzee | 9/26/2006, 3:00 pm EST

harryj,
It’s an election season. They won’t let anything go.

jeffrey,
entertaining comeback. Though a little short for one of your posts.

Capitalist Pig | 9/26/2006, 6:32 pm EST

The article states:

“Shelton also told Salon that the future senator gave him the nickname “Wizard,” because he shared a last name with Robert Shelton, who served in the 1960s as the imperial wizard of the United Klans of America, a group affiliated with the Ku Klux Klan”

It seems Mr. Shelton, who made these accusations, needs to get his facts straight before trying to smear someone. According to the team trainer the player was nicknamed “the wizard” for his ability to get open as a wide reciever, and he was given the nickname before George Allen came to the school. But, of course, the purpose of this article was not the truth, but to get a democrat elected at any cost. Get ready people because the left is going to do anything in the next few weeks to regain thier power.

Joe | 9/27/2006, 10:07 pm EST

All this and DEMOCRAT Senator Byrd (a former Klansman) can get away with saying nigger on television..
Oh, the liberal hypocrisy..

TinFoilHat | 9/28/2006, 11:27 pm EST

“..the left is going to do anything in the next few weeks to regain thier power”

CapMan, Silly us, trying to get across anything on the masters. Please teach us about dirty tricks, we have sooo much to learn!

TinFoilHat | 10/1/2006, 7:44 pm EST

Good to hear back from you Cap. I thought you weren’t going to talk to me anymore. I’ll digest this and get back to you.

TinFoilHat | 10/1/2006, 11:52 pm EST

Cap,
So you aren’t Mark “Thor” Hearne, are you?

Capitalist Pig | 10/2/2006, 11:00 am EST

TinFoilHat

“And now, dear Cap, you have really outdone yourself. All of the items you have under ‘voting fraud appear to be copied directly from a single site called
“Gateway Pundit – Observations of the world from the Heart of JesusLand”
Dude, really! I expected more, and you said you were an Agnostic. Anyway I got my puking pale, still ready and willing to wade my way though this sewage (see how much I love you, Cap?).”

The fact is the convictions stand regardless of where the information was posted. I know he is not non-partisan like Robert Kennedy, Jr. Good thing we have people like RFK, Jr. who only care about the best thing for the country.

Capitalist Pig | 10/2/2006, 11:13 am EST

TinFoilHat – And even though I am agnostic I do not discount something someone says because of thier religious beliefs.

“EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (AP) – A federal jury Wednesday convicted the chairman of the city’s Democratic Party and four others of scheming to buy votes with cash, cigarettes and liquor last November.”

“But Mr. Rendell’s history doesn’t inspire confidence that he takes fraud of any kind seriously. In 1994, Philadelphia Democrat Bill Stinson was booted from office as a state senator by a federal judge who found his campaign had rounded up 250 tainted absentee ballots. Mr. Rendell, then Philadelphia’s mayor, had this reaction to the Stinson scandal: “I don’t think it’s anything that’s immoral or grievous, but it clearly violates the election code.”(Wall Street Journal)

“The Democrats registered dead people on Indian reservations to try to keep Tom Daschle in the Senate.

The Democrats still allow the dead to vote in Southern West Virginia, allowing Democrats to maintain control of the Legislature for 70+ years.

The Democrats still have the Daley machine in Cook County keeping Illinois safely in Democratic hands.”(New York Times).

I could go on but you know the facts, you just don’t won’t to face them.

TinFoilHat | 10/2/2006, 12:09 pm EST

“Good thing we have people like RFK, Jr. who only care about the best thing for the country. ”

I agree completely!

TinFoilHat | 10/2/2006, 12:12 pm EST

I can find all kinds of (relativly) minor violations attributed to Republicans too. It really doesn’t prove anything. The Thing that is outrageous is when there is proof that the last two presidential elections were STOLEN by the maniac currently in office, and NO ONE in the Mainstream Media even wants to talk about it, much less take it on. Thank GOD (and I mean that in the most religious way possible) for RS and RFK Jr who have the BALLS to speak TRUTH to POWER!

Capitalist Pig | 10/2/2006, 5:08 pm EST

TinFoilHat – I wish I got paid to do this, but I have a job. And before you ask me what my boss thinks, I am my boss.

Capitalist Pig | 10/2/2006, 5:34 pm EST

TinFoilHat – Oh where to start. First off I shoot holes in liberal theories because it is easy and fun.

“It sounds like something the RNC would engage in: Paying ‘operatives’ to post on ‘liberal’ blog sites and shoot holes in all the articles.”

I doubt the RNC would waste it’s time with RS. Think about it, what is average age of an RS reader and how many quick smoking a joint long enough to vote? And then there are basic facts. Like numerous polls that show the demographics of the American voter. 21% of Americans say they are liberal, 36% conservative and 43% moderate. The Republicans do not need to rig elections. Let’s look at the fact in the past 40 years the dems have had one president win a second term, the republicans have had 3. Again no need to cheat. Republicans have held the White House 26 of the past 38 years. Again no need to rig the elections.

“You guys LOST the last two presidential elections. What’s worse is that the world thinks all Americans are TOTAL IDIOTS for voting this BOZO into office not once, BUT TWICE!”

“I hope that if you are a cynical political operative that you will look into your OWN beliefs without the benefit of the Right-Wing Echo Chamber, and try to determine what YOU (CAP) actually believe.”

I do know what I believe, that is why I can debate with clarity. It seems you are in need of the approval of others since you are worried about what the world thinks. I’m an American and don’t look to the world for approval. That would point out the fundimental flaw in the left’s philosophy. Conservatives see the good in America (the glass is half full) where liberals only see and point out the faults in America (the glass is half empty).

“So Cap, not that it hasn’t been fun, but I get the impression that you are not the average run of the mill republican.”

That depends on your definition of run of the mill. I hold a degree in economics, I am a master machinist, and I did it all with no help, my parents were far from rich. In fact my dad was disabled and my mom has never made over $25,000. a year. I should remind you that you are the one that started posting the lists of republicans involved in criminal activity on another thread, but now you wish to run we rebuted with the same. If you were looking for someone that would roll over and play dead, that would not be me.

Capitalist Pig | 10/2/2006, 5:41 pm EST

TinFoilHat – And actually I hate to see you go. I enjoy lively debate, if one truly believes what one is saying then one should not fear debate. I would enjoy your hanging around, seems Jack D, my favorite liberal, does not come around much these days. I will gladly dispense with the lists if you gladly do so yourself. I really hate digging the shit up.

TinFoilHat | 10/2/2006, 6:21 pm EST

Cap, Gotta agree with you there. Anyway, you never answered my question. Are you ‘the man’ or what? How do you manage to post so much? Do you do this all day? Do you post on any other blogs? Are you Ken Melman, or an army of conservative pudits?

Desiderata, you are nice. I’ve just been spending too much time. Obviously I love arguing. My ex-roommate used to say I was the most contentious SOB he ever dealt with. Even so, I’m no match for my wife! My hunny-do list is getting long while I’m wasting all this time here. I better get to it or prepare for divorce.

Cap, I’ll be watching for your answer.

TinFoilHat | 10/2/2006, 6:25 pm EST

Cap, oops, my mistake, I missed your other post.

TinFoilHat | 10/2/2006, 6:38 pm EST

OK Cap, I catch your drift. Actually I started on this blog just because I was offended at the 9/11 truth dismissal (you can see my earliest posts near the beginning of those blog responses) but that argument got out of hand quick. If I don’t have anything else to add, I will move on. The other stuff just came in response to other posts. I do feel that it is important for America to lead the world morally, and I feel like we are going in the wrong direction there. I am not joking when I say that this administration depresses me. What makes me mystified is why everyone else is not just as outraged as I am. I am a computer tech with a degree in Electronics Engineering. I’m between jobs now and thinking of going back to school for a programming degree. I have enjoyed our debates, but my time should be spent on other things. I am 44 years old and have had a subscription to the Stone since 1982. The reason I’ve kept the subscription going is mostly due to the political articles. I hope you all have a great life. I really do need to concentrate on finding a job or I’m likely to need welfare (perish the thought!) You might hear from me again if I feel I have anything to add to an argument (I’m still looking for the Blog on Net Neutrality: A big issue for me).
I’ll probably be posting under a different name though.
Peace ….TFH.

———————–

I wish I worked for the man.HeHe. Actually you would be suprised I am not that big a fan of Mr. Bush, but despise socialism in all forms. But that is for another time. You should tend to the wife, got to have priorities. I remember I love a good debate, and it is not personal, it’s politics. Debating our differences is how we find common ground, if possible.

Capitalist Pig | 10/2/2006, 7:02 pm EST

TinFoilHat – Peace. And good luck.

“I really do need to concentrate on finding a job or I’m likely to need welfare (perish the thought!) You might hear from me again if I feel I have anything to add to an argument (I’m still looking for the Blog on Net Neutrality: A big issue for me).”

Welfare as a temporary solution is not something I oppose, just for life. Not meant to argue just to point out my heart is not as black as you think. I agree on the Net Neutrality issue, if you mean it should be left alone. I am approaching 44 myself, next week. No wife or kids so I have time to spare during the work week. I did spend more time than I should have today at work, but I have no direct supervisor but me. I am off for the night and probally a few days. I wish you luck.

Capitalist Pig | 10/2/2006, 8:39 pm EST

TinFoilHat – Actually I think we are on the same side. I will have to look into it further. Honestly have not followed it deeply.

TinFoilHat | 10/3/2006, 4:40 am EST

Clarification:
I would be on the side of the content providers (google, yahoo, etc.) not the Phone/Cable providers.
