Rep. King, Tear Down That Wall

7/13/06, 5:42 pm EST

Congressman Steve King (Xenophobe – Iowa) — a man who calls undocumented immigration “a slow-rolling, slow-motion terrorist attack on the United States” — wants to control the invading hoards of Mexicans the same way “we do … with livestock.” With an electric fence. But not just any electric fence. An electric fence. On top of a concrete wall. That he designed.

Steve King, Immigration

(Regular readers of this blog may remember that Rep. King is also the ringleader of the Republican mutiny blocking the renewal of the Voting Rights Act.)

Watch and weep as the congressman erects a scale model of the Steve King Border-Blockerâ„¢ on the House Floor. [Thanks, Think Progress]

Illegal aliens have the choice in advance not to encounter this monstrosity.
I don’t have the same choice of not having to pay to feed, birth and generally sustain them once they get into our country.
There are 6 billion people alive on this planet right now-more than have ever lived in the history of the world. Like it or hate it we do not have the ability to sustain the many hundreds of millions that will “catch the first thing smokin’” heading this way if we do not have the intestinal fortitude to secure our borders. Let them move into your room and you feed, protect and sustain them.
To call someone a Xenophobe for daring to protect your critical interests, flys in the face of reason. Get above the false left-right paradigm and see securing our borders as OUR problem. As a comsumer of their product, do not allow Rolling Stone to be one of those left-wing gate keepers that divert, deflect and obfuscate-and take your eyes from the prize-which is to bring articles of impeachment against GW Bush and to indict Bush, Cheny, Rumsfeld and Rice for treason, arson and murder.
Put the bong down.

Great post Austin.

It is absolutely shocking to see how biased and one-sided the political commentary in this publication is. The scary part is not that the Rolling Stone attempts to pass this off as real, informative, reasoned political commentary, but that many of Rolling Stone’s uninformed readers believe this nonsense.

While I agree that King’s view of immigrants as cattle is monsterous I can’t help but think that I’m a LEGAL citizen of this country and no one is standing up to give me special consideration or healthcare/education programs. So, all I have to do to have people fight from me is be an illegal immigrant from another country? Then maybe the fact that I have no health insurance and a pittance wage will suddenly be valid? The immigrant issue is complicated and I don’t know how to deal with it–but God, damn it! There are AMERICANS who need just as much help and consideration and no one seems to give two fucks about them. And none of these, let’s face it, lawbreaking people are recieving the slightest penalty–bravely marching in the streets and declaring their rights over a country they, for all practical purposes, invaded.
I guess now we know how the Native Americans felt when all those white guys showed up.

Hi everyone… if you’re unfamiliar with Iowa, I want you to know Steve King doesn’t share the views of most Iowans. He’s an honest to god fascist.

Also, the small percentage of Iowans who are farmers grow corn, not potatos. Haha.

Mark, welcome to a site safe for liberals and the REAL WORLD….

The Republicans have bought the networks(anyone dumb enough to whine about the “liberal media” needs to understand myths.

When elections and the media are controlled by Republicans, our country is in big trouble-and we have been in big trouble since 2000.

Impeach or dump the lemon-it is ripe for the pickin…..
