John McCain’s $O$

3/23/07, 12:12 pm EST

Sources have been telling me John McCain’s got money troubles, but this email to supporters yesterday sounds downright desperate. Pleading for max donations in advance of the FEC quarterly report is not what’ frontrunners do…

The Federal Election Commission filing deadline for the first quarter is March 31st. This FEC report will define our campaign’s financial and political strength at this crucial early stage. In today’s political environment, this is how the media will judge the success and momentum of a candidate – which is why need your help without delay.

Today, as one of my strongest supporters, I am asking you to make a special campaign contribution of $50, $100, $250, $500, $1000 or if possible, the full maximum amount of $2,300.

It does sound desperate. It looks like the Gop nomination is Rudys

Elijah M | 3/23/2007, 2:38 pm EST

Isn’t it slightly redundant to accuse a politician of being desperate? They all do this, regardless of how much they already have in their war chest. I just got an email from Bill Clinton that said almost exactly the same thing.

Both McCain and Guliani are millions of miles away from a lock on the GOP nomination. Social conservatives aren’t going to vote for either one of them.

Puremuny | 3/23/2007, 3:43 pm EST

His troubles started when he backstabbed Rumsfield. He is done

ray | 3/23/2007, 10:56 pm EST

The fundammentalist right will not stop Rudy instead a more moderate turnout for the Gop primaries will nominate him over Romney and Mc cain

Dr. Ralph | 3/24/2007, 4:57 pm EST

McCain needs to decide if he is a Republican or a Democrat. He has Democratic tendencies but always caves for the right. Unelectable. It’s still early, and news from Hendersonville, TN. says our very own Fred Thompson is testing the waters. What, another Republican actor/politician?

AnnCoulterneedsamouthfulofcum! | 3/25/2007, 7:47 pm EST

The only thing McCain ever had going for him was his “maverick” status, with his blind support for Bush, that’s now gone. He has no chance.

Let Them Eat Cake | 3/26/2007, 10:16 pm EST

Wow, what a choice the “Right” has!
Giuliani-his wonderful handling of important documents pre-9/11, his avoiding having hazardous materials checked out, before exposing workers to the sites, his lack of attendance at anything Firefighters are attending and, his penchant for things frilly…

McCain, who braved being a Prisoner of War, was an Independent, and now since his sad alliance with the Bush Political Machine, Lost his Courage and has become a Stepford Wife to Bush’s war policies, corrupt and inept policies and has lost his Soul…

Romney is another Shape-Shifter who has bounced from moderate/liberal Repube to embracing the rightie policies that he did not go along with, before his radiant “transformation” in the Run for the Presidency…

Dr. Ralph | 3/28/2007, 4:13 pm EST

Wow what a choice the left has! A muslim bred man of color, a neo-nazi feminist, and a trial lawyer who recieved 3.7 and 5.7 million dollars from two seperate medical malpractice suits. Just kill us John, wouldn’t it be easier to keep people from trying to save others lives that way?

DeezNutz | 3/28/2007, 5:17 pm EST

Cake and Ralph- You’re both right. Like every other election the American people are getting screwed out of any real choices. It’s time for a viable third and fourth party. The two-party system is a joke. It reminds me of an episode of Futurama where the main candidates for Earth’s presidential election, Jack Johnson and John Jackson, are clones of the same person.

ray | 3/28/2007, 8:03 pm EST

I agree with you this time Deez the idea that only two parties nominees can be elected is absurd ivoted ror 3rd parties and signed pettions to get them on the ballot

Jed Clampett | 3/28/2007, 10:13 pm EST

It’s like having a choice between dumb or dumber, corrupt or corrupter, greedy or greedier.

Frankly, I don’t really care too much what party makes it as long as they work to make us all prosper rather than just their cronies. People that feel with their spirit rather than their political conscience. And from noticing the ‘onness’, the collusion, the corruption in the republican party, the sinicism, the greed, the outright lies they feed the populace, I know I don’t want them there in power one more term. No more opportunity to increase our debt, erode our global standing, raid our treasury, neglect our children’s education, and send our talented youth to some foreign land to be maimed or killed or psychologically wounded without the honor of at least a clear goal, purpose, stated clearly and honestly to the people.
I would like Obama to make it, but I’m affraid that those in control would rather kill him as they did the Kennedy’s rather than give up any little bit of control and the ability to skew laws and processes in teir favor.

Dr. Ralph | 3/29/2007, 2:05 pm EST

Obama sounds good, but Jesus Christ he’s a first term Senator! He’s still wet behing the ears and the REAL politicians will eat him alive if and when he becomes the Democratic candidate. People in Washington like the status quo. They are in charge and don’t need a snot nosed punk trying to change things. They showed us who the boss really was November 22, 1963. Don’t forget it…

Jed Clampett | 3/29/2007, 3:20 pm EST

so, your saying we should just accept the status quo? should we resign ourselves to the fact that we won’t ever have a type of government that is representative of the people rather than the people with money? Should we just accept that bringing a new guy that is relatively ‘clean’, as far as the corruption process is concerned, will ultimately get him killed and we’ll allow the true killers to go unpunished as they did with kennedy? At what point do we actually say no more and actually elect a ’snot nosed inexperienced punk’ as you call him to try to heal our government? He would be the main law enforcement officer in the country, perhaps he’ll have the impetus to bring to court those that would write laws that waste millions and hurt thousands. If that is what you call supporting the constitution then I venture to say we need to start getting ready for another revolution to depose the tyrants that make the laws.

Dr. Ralph | 3/29/2007, 9:55 pm EST

What I’m saying is he would either be killed or become one of them. The powers that be will not allow change. The revolution supposedly started in the sixties. Where are we now? I throw my vote away almost religously. I have voted for Ron Paul and Ross Perot for president. Did it do any good? Hell no.

Jed Clampett | 3/30/2007, 12:24 am EST

that must be the power of positive thinking.

While that’s apparently the way Xenu seems to be playing things, we must show that we want better for ourselves and our children. We must show we can work against the evil force that seems to have our world in it’s grasp, it must not be allowed to succeed.

ray | 3/30/2007, 12:40 am EST

3rd party voters did impact the 2000 election Pats votes kept Al Gore from getting Florida and the combined 3rd party vote kept Bush from getting the popular vote

Let Them Eat Cake | 4/6/2007, 1:42 am EST

Twasn’t the independents that killed the “elections” but twas Corrupt Republican and Democratic politcal officials and politicians that allowed the Beast into office…

Sorry, “King Kong”’s been on alot…

Thank Harris, Jeb, Richardson and, Blackwell-they all helped Bush steal the election….(Richardson is certainly getting special nods from ole Bush now-favors for “elections” past?)

ray | 4/6/2007, 8:10 pm EST

I stand by my post third party votes cost Al Gore the disputed county.

Tinfoil Hat | 4/14/2007, 7:59 pm EST

Yeah, that was part of it. However you might review the history. Bush did disenfranchise entire counties of Florida voters. According to all believable estimates, Gore did actually win the state and therefore the election. Sorry, cons, truth hurts sometimes.

Let Them Eat Cake | 4/29/2007, 12:15 pm EST

Both McCain and Giuliani have so many “kisses to perform for Bush and Party”, they have Lost their Souls and their Ability to be effective politicians/leaders…

McCa in sold-out to the Right and his past statements and current political blurbs are Hypocritical Jokes…(He has rolled-over like Fido and let the “Torture Bill”, “Campaign Reform”, “Ports Deal”, the “War in Iraq” make him look Ineffective, Lame, Looney, Waffle-Like, and his health does not look adequate to make him a viable Candidate/”President”…

He sadly, jumped on the Republican Lie Express-he is just another political clown..

But, those like “Ralph” don’t sell the “Cuteness” of voting for a third party or not voting at all…

If more people had voted in 2000, the Republicans would not have been able to Cheat Bush in-too many votes to “Toss”…

Until the Republican Party has endured a thorough house-cleaning, it is a terrible risk to even Consider voting any of them in…

Look what they have given us for the past six years, and in congress, the past twelve years.

Americans rights have been shredded away(Business/Corporate over working Americans, bias/propaganda media coverage over professional and fair representation, taking us into disasterous ‘wars’ based on lies and Greed for oil control and war-profiteering over using diplomacy and negotiations and being smart enough to build up a solid international community to insure we have sufficient backing in threats from terrorists/enemy countries…

Voiting Is Essential-Awareness, being willing to Challenge election fraud and corruption is a Must…

Don’t let the sad Republican strategists attempt to convince you, “your vote doesn’t count” or vote third-party(a vote for Repubes)but Observe to make sure your Vote Does Count…

McCain is on the Bush gravy-train and you will Inherit the horrendous Bush/Republican policies that have put Corporate First….Americans Lose with candidates like McCain-he lost his Credibility these past two years when he became a Rider on Bush’s CoatTails…
