Israel Calls Hezbollah’s Capture of Two Soldiers an “Act of War”

Ehud OlmertThings are heating up over there. Hezbollah, the militant group, captured two Israeli soldiers during clashes along the Lebanese border. The response, in action, was swift: An Israeli effort to find the captives featured an assault by warplanes, tanks and gunboats. The response, in words, was succinct:

Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert called the guerrilla attack “an act of war” and warned that Hezbollah would pay a “heavy price” for its actions.

UPDATE: The Israeli Defence Force is calling up reservists.

UPDATE 2: Reports say seven Israeli soldiers have been killed.
