Last year marked the 30th anniversary of Phish. During their annual New Year's show at Madison Square Garden earlier this week, they played this video over the Jumbotron during one of the set breaks. The video culls a ton of early photos, where the "phab phour" look vibrant and unkempt, the way we imagine all college students in Vermont to be. There's some fun animation of old concert fliers, footage of their rise to arena-level draw and various shots from their travels around the globe.
In addition to playing four shows to close out another successful year touring, Phish are currently working on a new album, tentatively titled Wing Suit. The band played a number of those tracks over New Year's, which they debuted at their 2013 Halloween show. Trey Anastasio has a short winter tour lined up, kicking off on January 28th in Denver, and bassist Mike Gordon will release his new solo album, Overstep, later this month, with a short tour to follow as well.
