The Smashing Pumpkins Tackle 'Space Oddity' at SXSW

Alt-rockers cover David Bowie classic

By |

When the Smashing Pumpkins took to a SXSW rooftop earlier this year, they cranked out this interstellar rendition of David Bowie's 1969 classic "Space Oddity." While you won't find the electrifying cover on the Pumpkins' most recent album, Oceania, the band lights up the Austin night in this clip. It's culled from their Guitar Center Sessions performance, which airs on DirecTV on May 17th at 9 p.m. EST.
