Brooklyn indie rockers the Drums helped kick off the opening night of Bonnaroo 2011 with a set focused on jaunty pop tunes in the tradition of the Smiths and the Strokes. The band, who have played several large festivals abroad, were totally at ease in front of the enormous Bonnaroo crowd, with lead singer Jonathan Pierce projecting a cool, casual vibe as he strutted around the stage as if he were playing a small club.
