The eerie clip, directed by rhythm guitarist Jeremy DePoyster and bassist Andy Trick, features mysterious cloaked figures and crashing waves; the imagery fits well with the song, which finds frontman Mike Hranica exploring themes of isolation and faith ("There will always be us and me / I'm just sick of being lonely") over an apocalyptic riff. "Strangely, we've been sitting on the 'Martyrs' opening riff for quite some time," Hranica says. "It came about off-handedly to close a set a few years ago."

8:18 is the band's follow-up to their 2011 breakout, Dead Throne, which peaked at Number 10 on the Billboard 200. The band will play two summer festivals this August (starting with the Alliance Fest in Pennsylvania) before kicking off a U.K. tour in October.
