Folk-pop duo the Civil Wars turned up on Late Show with David Letterman last night to perform a haunting rendition of "Poison and Wine," a cut from their debut album, Barton Hollow. The song, about a long-term relationship under great strain, was played with intensity and subtle theatrical flair, as the two turned to make eye contact for the song's most gutting lyrics.
