Irish folk legends the Chieftains are celebrating their 50th anniversary with Voice of Ages, a new record in which the band teams up with artists including Bon Iver, the Decemberists, Pistol Annies, Civil Wars and Imelda May for new recordings. In this clip, the band reflect on their five decades in music and their experiences working with younger artists in awe of their immense body of work. "It's not often you are called to collaborate with one of the world's foremost innovators and influencers in folk music, or any music for that matter," says Decemberists frontman Colin Meloy. "I mean, the Chieftains have almost single-handedly defined Irish traditional music for the last 50 years."
