The Cars recently sat down with Rolling Stone to discuss Move Like This, their first album in 24 years, and explain why they had been away for so long. "At some point something kinda cracked around 1987 and I didn't like it as much," frontman Ric Ocasek says of rock stardom. "I kinda got into a whole anti-theatrical thing, I started feeling like I'd rather be writing music and making albums because it was easier, and because I could maybe grow up with the people I actually love to grow up with instead of never seeing anyone. The mental thing of it, for me, personally, kinda faded off a bit then and it lasted a pretty darn long time."
