SXSW 2013: Eric Burdon Gets Inspired by Mikhail Gorbachev
'Water' was written after a conversation he had with the former Soviet statesman
March 16, 2013

Eric Burdon, who rocked SXSW with hits from his bands the Animals and War, talked about his activist side and casually discussed geopolitics in the the Rolling Stone Rock Room. "There's a track on my new album called 'Water.' I got that from my conversation from Mikhail Gorbachev, and I asked him about the next big problem the earth would face. He said 'water.'"

Burdon also mentioned a book project he's currently working on, which he someday hopes to turn into a spoken-word recording once it's been published.
