Stephen Colbert Spoofs 'Accidental Racist'

Comedian starts his own dialogue with 'Oopsie-Daisy Homophobe'

Inspired by the multicultural dialogue between Brad Paisley and LL Cool J on the hilariously cringe-worthy "Accidental Racist," Stephen Colbert last night invited Alan Cumming to start a conversation on The Colbert Report about gay marriage with his own song, "Oopsie-Daisy Homophobe." After lauding the "unifying suckage" of "Accidental Racist," Colbert donned a cowboy hat, took hold of an acoustic guitar (which he immediately handed off) and cribbed the melody from "Accidental Racist" to croon lines like, "When I told you 'God hates fags' / The only thing I meant to say / Is I'm a Skynyrd fan." Duet partner Cumming, meanwhile, landed the brilliant line, "If you don't judge my parades / I'll forget what you said about monkeys and AIDS." You could feel the country's wounds healing with every note.
