Canadian power-pop veterans Sloan are celebrating their 20th anniversary as a band this year with their 10th album The Double Cross. (XX, 20, get it?) The group have always emphasized songwriting chops over image, so it's no surprise that "Unkind," the first video from the record, is a rather straight-forward affair. The clip may be no-frills, but it's high on style, with crisp black and white footage of the guys rocking out in a dark room illuminated only by a spotlight. Much like the band's music,  the video is simple, elegant and immediately engaging.
