Sia's new single "Move Your Body" is another dance-ready track on the heels of her massive Number One single "Cheap Thrills." The new song's lyric video merges clubby sequences with goofy Eighties nostalgia.
The video focuses on a young dancer sporting Sia's trademark black-and-white bob cut wig. Couples and families dressed in garish 1987 outfits pose for photo portraits in "America Mall," as the protagonist twirls, jumps, and pumps her arms. She transforms a staid studio into a party while the Sia's voice throbs in the background. "Move Your Body" relies on a fast beat, but also has the slow, dramatic quality of previous ballad "Chandelier."
"Move Your Body" appeared last year on This Is Acting, an album of songs that Sia intended to give to the likes of Adele, Beyoncé and Rihanna before the stars turned them down. "Move Your Body" was supposedly written for Shakira, but it's doing just fine for Sia: the song jumped to No. 6 on the latest Billboard Dance Club Songs chart.
