Royal Bangs Play it Cool in 'Octagon' – Premiere

Knoxville band rocks out in different locales, shows whip skills

Royal Bangs play it cool in their video for "Octagon," letting loose in a studio space and jamming out in front of a kaleidoscopic backdrop of vibrant color. The Knoxville, Tennessee, band shifts across different sets as they play the warm, jangly track, rocking out in a fake cabin, soloing in smokey rooms and getting punched in the face by two fists for a milk and cereal explosion.

"This video was a lot of fun to make. We shot the whole thing in one day in Knoxville with a bunch of friends helping out," frontman Ryan Schaefer tells Rolling Stone. Guitarist Sam Stratton even got to show off his hidden talents, Indiana Jones-style. "We're glad to have finally found an outlet to show off Sam's whip skills," says Schaefer.

"Octagon" is on Royal Bangs' latest album, Brass, which is available through Amazon and iTunes. Check out the band's tour itinerary here.
