Rihanna has pledged $100,000 toward Hurricane Sandy relief efforts, and will also donate 1,000 sleeping bags to the New York Daily News' relief efforts. The singer made the pledge to the Food Bank of New York City in a recent wide-ranging chat on Facebook (where she admitted, "I'm too drunk for this shit"), and also announced she'll be transforming her New York album release party for Unapologetic into a free charity event. The "Rihanna and Friends" bash will be held today at Jay-Z's 40/40 club from 4:30- 6:30 p.m., and to attend, guests must donate an item to help victims of Hurricane Sandy.

Many stars have united to give aid after Hurricane Sandy; Lady Gaga and her family pledged $1 million to the American Red Cross, and NBC's "Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together" telethon featuring Bruce Springsteen, Christina Aguilera, Sting, Billy Joel and more raised $23 million for the Red Cross.
