With help from "Madtwins" sister duo Olya and Vera Ishchuk, California punks Social Distortion have produced an animated video for "Gimme the Sweet and Lowdown," which appeared on the band's 2011 release Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes. The Twins' video depicts a man cycling through drug and alcohol abuse and eventually being chased by a Grim Reaper villain. According to frontman Mike Ness, it revealed more about his song than he acknowledged when he wrote it.

"The idea behind [the song] was a lifestyle gone wrong due to really bad life decisions," says Ness. "I never intended for it to be autobiographical, but now with this visual, I realize that it actually is more about me than it seemed when I wrote it."

"Olya and Vera created this animated piece on their own time as a gift to us, and they nailed it,” Ness adds of the video's origins. "Being able to capture the true essence of the song without our input shows the Mad Twins' artistry and how talented they truly are."
