A chipper Paul McCartney was caught backstage humming his latest song "New" song and fixing himself in a mirror, before suddenly being joined by his band for an "impromptu" performance. McCartney and Co. sing accompanied only by an acoustic guitar, grinning and snapping along to the lighthearted beat. There's no way to tell if the performance was spontaneous or calculated, but either way there's a warmth to the barbershop quartet-like display.
McCartney has spent most of the year on the road for his "Out There!" tour in addition to numerous festival dates that included stops at Bonnaroo in June and a collaboration with the Kronos Quartet at Outside Lands in August. McCartney's first solo album in six years is due out October 15th.
