Alt-rock titans Paramore have released "Now," the first single from their long-awaited self-titled record, which is due April 9th. With a sparse guitar-driven intro that finds frontwoman Hayley Williams throwing her voice into Karen O territory, "Now" quickly settles into a distinct Paramore groove, hitting a triumphant chorus with massive guitars – and even a few horns – swelling around Williams' vocals as she belts, "If there's a future we want it!"
When Paramore announced their fourth LP last year, they said "Now" "feels like the perfect way to start this new journey we are embarking on not only as a band but as a movement. To show people that you can lose battles but come back and win full on wars. You can make something out of even less than nothing."
Produced by Justin Meldal-Johnsen, Paramore marks not only the band's return, but also their first record as a trio since the 2010 departure of Josh and Zac Farro, the band's co-founding guitarist and drummer.
