Metric Play Acoustic 'Youth Without Youth'
Canadian band strips down new single in Rolling Stone studio

Metric's new single "Youth Without Youth" is a Gary Glitter-esque glam stomper from their next album Synthetica, but when frontwoman Emily Haines and guitarist James Shaw performed it at Rolling Stone's studio recently, they stripped it down to just piano, acoustic guitar and a simple metronomic beat. This version has a more haunting tone, and Haines' vocal performance is more melancholy and resigned. You can check out the studio version of the song below, and pre-order Synthetica from iTunes now.
